I wasn't really expecting much from this parade. Well, the parade just about met my expectations and I have to say, I'm glad this isn't permanant. I feel like this parade would be better placed in California Adventure and renamed Block Party 2.0. I don't know. I feel like the whole interactive dancing experience just isn't Disney quality. I feel likes it's just a way to camouflage the low quality floats and lack of effort.

Well, if the PoD does return, then no one will have much to worry about. I'll be glad to see the return the PoD (goodness knows I miss it terribly) but if it doesn't, I'm okay with the Street Party staying.

Al Lutz at MiceAge reported that the rumor of POD returning is still being tossed around. This is great news. The plan is to have POD run during the day and the street show at night. A total win-win situation IMO... I'm praying.

i can hardly remember the parade in 2004, but this seems like fun. my little boy will be swinging his hips and pointing at the balloons. then i will look forward to a different parade in 2011

That sounds like a really good idea to me. Hopefully this works out.

I guess I'd better reserve judgment until I've seen it live (and with luck without the screaming woman). Based just on this film I'd say it's a cheap knock-off on Block Party Bash from DCA.

I just saw it this past week. I still think the floats are still pretty weak. I really love the music it really makes me want to dance. I think it's not super high Disney quality. But it's sufficent enough. Pump'in up The Party doesn't even remind me of Hannah Montana. It just seems like a new song with the tempo change and a few lyric changes. I really love this parade lots of fun. It is indeed a BPB 2.0, but I tend to like this better. Sorry BPB fans. If they do bring back POD I would rather have POD at night than the other way around.

I loved the POD, I agree this the street party wasn't a great replacement. I sure don't mind the new "parade," though. Hopefully they do bring back POD in the summer.

What's the chances of there being a new showstop if they bring it back? Maybe the one from CADCTP in Florida?

EDIT: Oops, sorry Wisher! I just saw your post asking about POD. Yep, it may come back.

See, I didn't even know that the "Pumpin' up the party" song was Hannah Montana. And I loathe Hannah Montana. Just goes to show ya, I guess.

But I'm really hoping they do bring the PoD back. Even if they do have a new showstop (I'll miss 'welcome to our family time', of course). No need to waste the floats and costumes, if they're not going to do anything with it otherwise.

If it comes back I will be jumping for joy, not because I hate the new Street Party, on the crontary. POD and Celebrate! looks like an awesome combo (well at least I think). I think Celebrate should go during the day though, POD during the evening.

POD is more magical at night, especially with all the special effects they have on the floats. Street Party should run during the day, even though Disney put those weird stage lights on each unit..

I agree, they would make an awesome combo. A little bit of everything for everyone to celebrate.

Night time POD, with its float lighting, not to mention the programmable color street lighting, has provided me with some of my own favorite home vids. What I'd personally like to see in terms of parade scheduling would be to have Celebrate kick off sometime around noon or 1:00 PM, before the energy-sapping heat of the summer day, then POD occupy the traditional 3:30 slot. Later, Celebrate at around 8:30 or so when DL night time is still very active, and POD at around 10:00, as in the old MSEP days. Depending on which direction the parades travel, and if the new fireworks are less castle-centric than RDCT, this could also help with crowd distribution patterns. Finally, I think a POD that leaves the Main Street area well before Fantasmic #2 ends could help with the Park exit flow, since many guests tend to leave after the final parade.

Just my opinion.

Another thought re: POD and Celebrate at night. Just guessing, but it might be a financial advantage to Disney to attract and retain more guests at night, because based only on my personal observations, guests seem to spend more money in general at night than during the day.
