Default "Bring Back Captain EO"

My local newspaper has an online parenting blob called "The Poop" (lol). They recently did a column on the author's top Disneyland attractions (even though he does have some anti-Disney sentiment), and he followed up with a blog specifically on Captain EO and how it should be brought back -- to which I fully agree!

In all honesty, concerning Michael Jackson's current reputation, I don't think it will come back.

I do think Honey, I Shrunk The Audience! needs replacing though. I was talking to a CM who once visited the park back when Maynard worked at HISTA, and he told me that Maynard was much more entertaining than the actual show >___<

I wasn't born yet when Captain EO was around, but I totally agree with Lixiz (about the Michael Jackson thing- I don't know what the whole Maynard thing is about).

Oh I know, no way given his reputation now. Still, in a perfect world, it'd be nice..

Michael Jackson and Disneyland will probably never cross paths again! Thank goodness (even though I did enjoy Captain EO quite a bit!).

is there any way to get ahold of the movie? Even though it wouldn't neccessarily be in 3-D. UGH! I remember those long fingernails reaching out from the screen! scared the CRAP out of me everytime!

I am surprised Disney hasn't pulled HISTA and put a Hannah Montana or Jonas Brothers 3-D concert movie. That would bring in HUGE bucks and visitors!

Yeah, I think that Micheal is probably going to stay away from the USA, period for quite some time...

It's so odd to see him now. He used to be so young, vibrant and happy.

Sorry to go against everybody's reviews, but my friend's dad is like a total Disney freak and he said he waited 6 hours on opening day to see Captain EO and he hated it, I'm not exactly sure why but I think he thought it was really boring.

Disneyland had a 60-hour party for the opening weekend of Captain EO. I went to it and waited four or five hours to see it too. I didn't realize how cold it can get at 5:00AM but watching the sunrise while standing in line in Tomorrowland was pretty cool. I think I was too tired to enjoy it the first time I saw it but after that I really liked it a lot. But I agree with the others that it's not coming back.

I never saw Captain EO. It strikes me as being a little odd though. If they were to bring it back, maybe they could use a different actor for the lead.

Captain EO was before my time, my mom said that it was stupid and it was about his song 'Thriller'. Doesn't sound too great, especially with me being scared ****less everytime i see Micheal Jackson...but just to be a broken record player, like everyone else, i think its not coming back anytime in the near future...

It was not about his song Thriller. It was about a space Captain "Captain EO" and his crew sent on a mission to deliver a gift to the Queen of a once beautiful planet that has since become a run down miserable post apocalyptic wasteland. The gift was music. The gift was to "change the world".

Back in that time of the 80's Michael Jackson was "the icon" world wide. And being a child of that generation makes it hold a special place in my memories.

However, with everything we know about Michael Jackson now, a return of Captain EO is highly unlikely. It still does not diminish my memories or feelings about how great I thought that attraction was to me.
