Blue Bayou is great place to have lunch. Here are some tips that I use when I go. Here is the phone # for reservations and do make 1, 714-781-3463 and if you want to sit by the water say you would like a reservation for 11:00 am the is the first time and when you go to lunch check in a half hour befor your reservation. Also I think you can make a reservation 120 days out maybe 90cant remember. Its is a dark atmosphere with candle light and you can watch the pirate boats go by, menu is on the pricey side. Me and my wife spend about $60.00 that includes tip. I also recomend the monte cristo sandwich wich I belive is $17.99 it is to die for I have it every visit. You will get great service and a great dining experence and is by far I think the best place to eat in the park minus the high prices and lack of selection because my wife cant have dairy and almost everything has dairy. Also I have made reservations and to sit by the water the last 3 times I have gone and it has worked every time. So good luck hope you have a magical day at blue bayou.

Never Been to the Blue Bayou, thats okay. I have never either, but I am going in November and here are all the tips I am and have used for reservations and such.
*TIPS* Like mentioned, it would be more commadating if you made reservations ahead of time, I saw that someone mentioned you can book about 120 days in advanced. At Disneyland, which I think is the only place that has the Blue Bayou, you can only book 60 days in advanced. I found that out after I had called 2 times, but having reservations means you get a table and everything is set.(Don't forget to get a table by the water. I heard its exceptional!)As for food, I have heard that the Monte Cristo is great and so is there ribs. And who can forget the cookie boat, that includes some booty.(How cool, right?) What my cousin and my aunt told me was that the food is HUGE, they give you a lot of food, so its best to split the food, and than the helps the cost. I going with family there is going to be group of 11, so spliting food will be a $$ saver for us. Um, like I said I have never been there, but from what pictures and people telling me its great. It's really cool to see the boats pass and have that Pirate smell and feeling while there. http://www.themouseforless.com/tripp...luebayou.shtml Here is a menu for the Blue Bayou that is dinner and lunch, I hope that helps as well as the other menu above. I hope this info helps and you are able to go to Blue Bayou. Have Fun.

heh, the blue bayou is where I sat next to david hasslehoff.
When we went for dinner, the atmosphere was pretty nice, it was very dark, with candles on each table. They were pretty good with kids (kids get a free paper pirate hat lol) with the dinner entrees for kids being about $8. It's pretty pricey for adults, about $25-30 per entree. All adults at my table ate there whole entrees, so unless you don't eat very much, I would order your own plate. ![]() Me inside the blue bayou. =]

The prime rib on the menu is great. One thing they will do for you there is make it blackened. They used to advertise this or ask when ordering the chicken or steak, but it doesn't show on the menu nor was I asked last time I went. I did ask if they can do it and they said yes. Yummy. Blackened is not blackened like charred, it is made spicy hot with stuff and is a Cajun thing. So good. And if a fan of it, the horseradish sauce the bring you is creamy. Not so hot, but you can also ask for real horseradish and they will bring it. That is what's good. Mmmmm slather that on the blackened steak and I am in business. So yummy.

When you dine there, ask to sit by the railing so you can watch the people go by in POTC. My husband and I did that once and our kids kept riding POTC over and over again so they could see us and wave =)

I would definitely recommend going to Blue Bayou on your birthday (or on the day you CELEBRATE it at Disneyland.. lol) wearing your birthday pin. You can pick up a birthday button at the Town Hall just at the start of Main Street. Husband reserved a lunch table at Blue Bayou for his birthday for the three of us and the waitress brought him a "special birthday desert" and birthday card (both free) and told him the staff of the BB would like to wish him a very happy birthday.
Months later, he took his little brother for his thirteenth birthday to have lunch there and the waitress they got that time was either very busy or just not a sterling example of a good Cast Member. John had to ask for his brother's card and desert and the woman brought out the desert, dropped it at the table without a word, and forgot the card. Still, Mat didn't know any better and really enjoyed the "special" attention he was getting. We took a few pictures inside Blue Bayou, including the desert, if anyone would like to see them I'll be sure to get them from John's computer and share them here. If you order the Creme Brulee trio, be prepared to be served a hidden mickey! :) |

Arighty, soon as I find them on Hubby's comp, I'll transfer them to mine (for some reason our Network doesn't allow his comp to see mine & vice versa so we have to transfer items manually via copy & paste to a third comp we can BOTH see lol) and get them uploaded to Photobucket.

I have tried a lot of the menu items at the Blue Bayou and even though the prices are a little high I think they are reasonable given the atmophere and service. My favorite dish is the beef short ribs. It is consistently good and always satisfying. The prime rib, Tesoro Island Chicken, jambalaya, salmon and pork chop are also very good. For the entrees that come with a choice of two sides I highly recommend the Blue Bayou potatoes as one of your selections. They are heavenly. I also agree with the other that the Monte Cristo served at lunch is and excellent choice. Reservations are a must even if you think the park won't be crowded. My only knock on the Blue Bayou is the lack of a wine list. A big syrah with the beef short ribs would nothing short of amazing.
