It's expensive, expect to go and pay a pretty penny. If your worried about spending too much go with a friend and split a plate. There is a charge for that too. Usually per person to eat ranges from 35 - 45 dollars

It is fun to do once in a while, because of the atmosphere. Monte Cristo is a must (if you like heart attacks on a plate). But yes, be prepared to pay. And lunch, dinner, doesn't really matter. But, as with any table service in Disneyland, please tip your server accordingly!

I have eaten the Monte Christo sandwich at Caffe Orleans and was told by the CM it's the same as in Blue Bayou. Is this true? When I eat at Blue Bayou I always go for dinner and order in my opinion the world's greatest Prime Rib, so I don't know about Bayou's Monte Christo. Anyways, the Monte Christo at Caffe Orleans is also extremely good and costs about $14-15 dollars.

The lunch menu at Blue Bayou is cheaper than the dinner menu. And because it is a restaurant, it is appropriate to leave a tip. The prices vary, but we always go to lunch there....and our upcoming reservation is at 3pm which is still considered lunch.

The lunch and dinner prices are the same. However, there are some extra things at dinner (steak, crab) that you can't get at lunch. Also, the Monte Cristo sandwich (about $18) is only available at lunch. Yes, the prices are expensive, but you're also paying for atmosphere, and it's well worth it.

I have been there once and it was during lunch... and yes i had the Monte Cristo... But i think i paid , about $16 . But honestly the wonderful atmosphere of the restaurant really depends on where you get seated. When we went we were in a rather cramped area.... and didn't get the "pirate" atmosphere at all.. but again it might have just been my experience.

I also recommend a waterside seat at the Blue Bayou, but it may mean a longer wait. But I think it's worth it. Basically you're required to check in about 10 min before your scheduled time. At this point, ask about a waterside seat and they'll tell you how long the wait will be. It could be up to an hour though. You can't request it through Disney Dining.
As for the Monte Cristo, I know it's a Blue Bayou tradition, but you can find the exact same thing at Cafe Orleans, all day, for about $4 less.

If you want the Blue Bayou experience without paying the big bucks, make reservations and just have dessert. We did this last time we were there. I've never had room to try the desserts after eating a meal so this was a perfect way to try something off the wonderful dessert menu! Much less expensive too!
Get your Monte Cristo at Cafe Orleans to save money. It's big eough to split with a friend. To avoide the fee they charge you to split a meal, have the other person order the awesome garlic fries so you're not paying something for nothing! The split fee is about the same price as the fries.
