VoluntEARS donate more than $1.3 Million to charities

Disney VoluntEARS Donate Nearly $370,000 to Local Charities Visions Fantastic News Center According to a Disneyland Resort press release sent to DaddyB, Disney Cast Members dedicated 81,900 hours to the community in 2008. More than 170 local organizations were assisted by Disneyland Resort Cast Members. Through Disney’s Ears to You program, VoluntEARS can earn financial contributions of up to $2,500 per Cast Member for their favorite charity based on the number of volunteer hours they contribute. In recognition of the VoluntEARS' 2008 efforts, Disneyland Resort is making an in-kind contribution of $369,700 to the local charities they supported. “The Disneyland Resort has always been passionate about philanthropy, service, and engaging in causes that are important to the community,” said Ed Grier, president, Disneyland Resort. “This program is an outstanding reflection of that passion, and shows how the great work of individuals leads to incredible change.” When added to the grants made possible by Walt Disney World VoluntEARS, Cast Members earned more than $1.3 Million for charities in the United States.
