Mmmmkay... Susan Boyle makes Disney news...
I'm honestly tired of hearing about her. I think her "fame" is completely unnecessary, because she got it all for the wrong reasons. |

Odd footnote... Robin Williams says he's been offered the role of Susan Boyle for an upcoming movie. You never know if this guy is joking... Anyway, here's the piece at The New York Post (you never know if they're kidding either):

I'm curious as to what the "wrong reasons" are. She's a talented singer and deserves the fame regardless of her mental state.

She is definitely a talented singer, I can't argue that - but so are so many other people who go on these shows and get far less attention than she did. I've seen her face plastered on the news headlines the entire month she made it big. It was all about how she looked and how people were shocked by her voice. If people hadn't looked so down on her because of her looks, then no one would have cared as much as they did. She would have just been passed as every other talented artist who makes it on these talent shows. I'm not going to go any further into this, because I know it's quite personal to her, but I just feel that the way she got attention was not at all necessary. |

It was because it was so unexpected: nobody expected a woman who looks like that to have a voice like that. I for one, am really happy for her. It is great that she got to go to Disneyland and enjoyed it so much.
