ATTRACTIONS: New Monorail debuts this weekend.

Mark VII Monorail premieres at Disneyland Resort. Disneyland News This weekend at Disneyland Resort the new Mark VII Monorails will be starting operation. Shown to the right is Monorail Red being loaded onto the rails backstage. A Cast member preview is scheduled from April 21st till April 28th when the Monorail will be open to all Disneyland Guests. Some of the new changes from the older Mark V trains include a sleek retro design with a stylish gold and red paint scheme, new island style seating configuration, with one row of inward-facing seating at the front and rear ends of each car to give guests a better view of the resort from above. Also there will now be only 3 monorail trains, the colors announced are Red, Blue, and Orange. Monorail Red opening date pushed back "a few days"

Monorail Red opening date pushed back Orange County Register Just got word today that the new Monorail Red train will not open to the public this Friday. Disney Spokesman John McClintock said the team working on the Monorail “has decided to take a few extra days for test and adjust so it will not open to guests on Friday.” No date has been set for the Monorail’s public launch.
