Default New light-up color-change balloons

New light-up color changing balloons

O.C. entrepreneur lights up Mickey Mouse

Orange County Register
Orange County native and legendary balloon entrepreneur Treb Heining never gets tired of creating new dazzlers with his balloon art. His Mickey Mouse balloons that are lighted from the inside were definite eye catchers at the Electrical Light Parade at Disneyland California Adventure in Anaheim.

But you can’t fully appreciate these balloons that sell for $12 each unless you see them in action. Watch this YouTube video shot June 13 by DorianUSC09. Fun, huh?

Heining has come full circle with these Mickey balloons. He started in 1969 as a teenager selling balloons in Fantasyland.

WICKED!!!

I'd pay for one! Speaking of balloon vendors, I'm wondering if the one I kissed on the cheek is working MK this summer... ah, good times. A little warmer now (actually a lot warmer), but good times.

^ I agree. 12 bucks for a balloon is a bit much. I love the novelty of it though. Very cool to see at night!

Just thought of this. The light up mechanism, usually a small LED and such with battery. Well what if a kid lets one go, it flies into the air and somewhere pops.... Would the balloon fragment with the light and battery fall faster and potentially hurt someone or damage something? I don't want one falling on my car.

Hmm. $12, eh? NO. How much do the non-lighted ones cost? I've always been curious... They look neat, though. Not very fitting on Main Street, but that's not really everyone's concern, is it?

You'd make a lawyer chuckle and drool at the thought...

My concern is that hopefully the CM's will prevent these from going on dark rides, there are already enough problems with the lighted wristbands/etc that people think are cool to wave around in HM/POTC/etc.

I could imagine the fun of having a bunch of kids holding these during a showing of Fantasmic! and blocking everyone's view with flickering balloons...

...otherwise they are kind of neat.

i just think 12 is way to much to pay for plastic,a little light and air.......

I wanted to get one for my neice this last time we went because she loves balloons. But the reasons she likes them is because she wants to pop them, so no thanks on a 12 dollar balloon which would most likely be popped within the hour.

I'm not much of a balloon fan, especially when I'm walking and they hit me in the face every step. I also hate everything light-up, like the necklaces and stuff. I can't stand being on a dark ride with those LEDs flashing, pretty obnoxious.

I really like them. I'd buy just one just for the heck of having one. However, I do see it as a problem because of the dark rides and shows.

I'd buy one at my last hour of the park and take it home in the car and annoy the heck out of the people in my car But these balloons are REALLY cool, no matter how much potential they have of being annoying.

Me too. Lol. That'll be the time when I'm done riding the dark rides.

Me too! The only place I have ever seen light up things that I like is at Knott's in the Charles Schulz Theater. The employees go down the aisles selling these light up wands and things, pretty nice looking ones that have on-off switches, and then when the theater is darkened a bit before the show everyone who has them waves them and it's really beautiful. But, basic stuff like the light up necklaces are kind of low class and don't really belong in a nice park like DL.

It sounds like the lights on the balloons can be turned off, so it's not so bad as long as people are polite. But how much can you depend on that.
