Default New Disneynature film label

Disney launches new film label - Disneynature

Disney launches new film label - Disneynature
To produce outstanding nature documentaries with the world's top documentary filmmakers

Disney.com
In the great tradition established by Walt Disney himself, Disneynature will offer spectacular entertainment about the world in which we live. The significance of the new banner goes beyond the studio, with The Walt Disney Company embracing this new initiative around the world through a number of its businesses, including publications, licensing, parks and educational outreach.

Among the first films to be released domestically under the new label will be Earth, from award winning British producer/director Alastair Fothergill, whose credits include the landmark Planet Earth series for the BBC and The Discovery Channel and The Blue Planet. Earth, which is produced by BBC Worldwide and Greenlight Media and co-directed by Mark Linfield, will take us on a tour of our home planet as we’ve never seen it before. It will be narrated by renowned actor James Earl Jones and will premiere theatrically on Earth Day, April 22, 2009. The film will also be released under the Disneynature banner in Latin America.

For more updates on the newest production banner of The Walt Disney Studios, go to www.disney.com/nature (domestic) and www.disneynature.com (international).

Sounds kinda cool to me. Planet Earth was the best nature show series I have EVER seen, it was so good. Blue Planet though...ugg....I didnt need to watch 15 miniutes of the same shot.

And here I was hoping they would have had that same 60's narration style like they used to have. LOL

Well I think this is a pretty cool step for Disney to take.

This actually sounds pretty cool. It very much follows the direction Uncle Walt took with his Real Life Adventure series, which makes me happy. As opposed to Hannah Montana and HSM.

I'd be a little more excited about this if they actually called them "True Life Adventures" and the first film wasn't a rehash of Planet Earth (which is good, but I have it already). Still, I look forward to seeing where they go with this.

^Ditto that. Do an original concept before I'll applaud, but if they can't be original, stick to Walt's classics. Anyway, it's nice that they're doing something more environmentally oriented.
