Disneyland Resort gives $235,000 and a van to local Boys & Girls clubs

Disney donates $235,000 to local Boys & Girls clubs

Orange County Register
The Walt Disney Company donated $235,000 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Los Angeles and Orange counties. The annual contribution includes donations to 17 Orange County clubs that each receive $5,000 and 50 tickets to the Disneyland Resort. One club will be given a 12-passenger van worth $35,000.

“We are proud to be able to support the Boys & Girls Club organization because developing children and investing in their future is important to everyone in our society,” said Jill Bolton, director of community relations for the Disneyland Resort.

Santa Ana Boys & Girls club receives free van from Disneyland

Orange County Register
In a follow-up to our earlier post about today’s Disney donation to local Boys & Girls clubs, here’s a photo from the ceremony.

While Disney donations totaled $235,000, one club each year is also given a 12-passenger van. This year’s van went to the Santa Ana Boys & Girls Club. The ceremony was in front of the Monster’s Inc. attraction in Disney’s California Adventure, and Disney tells us that the Boys & Girls staff also enjoyed going on the ride after the ceremony.

In the photo, taken by Paul Auyeung of the Disneyland Resort, from the left: Greg Georgantas, Disneyland Resort; Kathy Brown, Santa Ana Boys & Girls Club; Richard Porras, Santa Ana Boys & Girls Club; and Jill Bolton, Disneyland Resort.

Another "dream" come true during the "2nd Year of a Million Dreams!" That's awesome.

Disney Donates $1 Million to Boys & Girls Clubs

Walt Disney World Public Affairs
With a $1 million donation from Walt Disney World Co., the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida launched construction of a 25,000-square foot facility on April 25. To be named the Walt Disney World Boys & Girls Club, it will serve an additional 75 to 100 youngsters each day and replace the current 60-year-old facility. "We recognize the success of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida in helping to develop our leaders of tomorrow. We're helping to provide a safe environment for youngsters to explore future career options, establish meaningful relationships with caring adults, build character and make constructive use of their free time," said Jerry Montgomery, senior vice-president of Walt Disney World Public Affairs.
