Question Should Disney make movies about some not-so-expcted themes?

I had an interesting idea the other day while i was sitting and watching my favorite podcast (having to do with disney) and it had phootage of the thrilling ride at disneyland, Matterhorn. I began to wonder, wouldn't it be interesting to see a movie about one of disneyland's rides such as: Matterhorn, Big Thunder Mountain, Space mountain (why all the mountains? hmmm....) or even the popular Disney videogame, Kingdom Hearts? If so, which would you like to see a movie about?

Matterhorn was based upon the movie "3 men on a mountain" I think it was called, and Splash Mountain was, of course, Song of the South. I don't think you could do too much in a SM movie while following the ride. As for BTMRR, I think it would be a good movie if they followed the legend behind it, and if it had the goat.

It would be kind of hard to make a Space Mountain movie. I don't know what there would be to look at. The ride is pitch black and about 2 minutes long, so I can't think of a movie plot for that. It would be interesting to see a BTMRR movie though. I bet it would actually be really good if they did it right. Disney is already making a Jungle Cruise movie, and I don't know how that will turn out, but I think it will probably be good. Kingdoms Hearts would make an interesting movie too. I would see that one.

I have thought about Space Mountain as a major part in a broader movie based on Tomorrowland. However, I'd want to use it differently than the present motif has it... Right now it's space station 77, but it always struck me as a blast shield for urban rocket liftoffs. In that case, it would be the launch site for the Moonliner, in a city teeming with Peoplemovers and Monorails. I was thinking about a time travel plot, involving Primeval World, but there has to be some way of fitting Inner Space into it as well ^_^

The Matterhorn Bobsleds are only obliquely related to Third Man on the Mountain, which is actually a historical drama about the first ascent of the peak. Needless to say, it doesn't have a heck of a lot to do with the ride... The inspiration was really the Matterhorn itself, which Walt fell in love with during the filming of the movie.

A Matterhorn ride would be workable as a hunt for the Yeti, but if you're going to go that route, you might as well make a movie of Expedition: Everest, since it has a more developed story to it. The Matterhorn Yeti is more or less just a set piece.

Other rides... hmmm... I'd love to see a movie about the Tower of Terror from DisneySea, mostly just following the exploits of Harrison Hightower III. I would say Shrunken Ned, but I'd like to see him as a character in the Jungle Cruise, heh heh. Enchanted Tiki Room, The Movie? National Treasure: The Hall of Presidents? Or I'd love to see a film based on that Mysteries of the Nautilus ride at Disneyland Paris, with this cool old Victorian submarine that gets attacked by a giant squid!

I could actually see that working out. That could be kind of cool. Like some people are off exploring in the jungle, when they hear some mysterious music. After searching around for awhile, they come across a hut that has singing birds in it. Each bird coul[d have a unique backstory based on where they are from (France, Spain, Germany, and America...At least I think that's right.) It could be like Alvin and the Chipmunks, but way better.

Please... Let's not give Disney anymore ideas on the theming of their rides and movies. I can just see it now.... In the future after all their rides are based off of movies and have tie-ins, they will then move to remaking the older rides into movies again. Disneyland presents Peter Pan the ride with new scenes from the new movie based off the ride based off the movie based off the book. LOL
I just think they should just lay off the movie tie-ins and put the movie/ride combo on hold for awhile and focus on something original and unique but also show the advancements in technology and animatronics. I know that TSM will show that too but I am wanting something like BTMRR or like HM and the original POTC. Something out there and fresh but not movie based. I don't mind if it was movie inspired as long as it dosn't show any of the elements from the movie.

What about rides based off of more obscure movies: The Absent-Minded Professor's Flying Flubber Car? A new Great Locomotive Chase sequence for the DLRR? Old Yeller Shootin' Gallery? That Darn Catshow! Who Wants to be the Happiest Millionaire?...

^That has to be the funniest thing I've read in a long time! You did forget the Sword in the Stone ceremony hosted my Merlin Jones, though.

Old Yeller Shootin' Gallery....wow...and I thought I had a twisted sense of humor.

Seriously though, I would like to see more original ideas from Disney, both in the ride and film department.

Wait until I get into my rediculously (in)appropriate merchandise and sponsorship... "it's a small world" edition Risk!

Honestly, now that I think of it, a flying Model-T would be kinda' fun (probably something along the lines of Peter Pan's Flight). So would a animatronic attempted train robbery. Maybe when they put a Scarecrow of Romney Marsh stunt show in Liberty Square... or they just build Boomer Kingdom at WDW.

Dude Cory LOL I love it. Too funny. IASW RISK! LOL And the Old Yeller Shooting Gallery. Too too good my friend LOL.
Ooooo..... "Merlin Jones' Sword in the Stone Ceremony" Ned? LOL Nice. Good touch to the already twisted DL concepts. Maybe they could move the teacups to Frontierland and rename it the Spin and Marty.
