If this scenario were to happen, then mainstream Hollywood people have some serious issues that they'd need to get over with then.

But remeber, Beauty and the Beast got nominated (and would have won if Silence of the Lambs hadn't come out that same year). This was a movie that was based off of a fairy-tale. While it is my opinoin that Beauty and the Beast was ggod, WALL-E absolutly blew it out of the water.

Well, I finally saw Wall-E today. I thought this movie was very entertaining. It kept my attention, just like a Buy-N-Large commercial kept those overgrown babies attentive. I thought it was cute (that's right, I used the word cute) and fun.

Presto was interesting. I very much liked the concept of his stage show and the magic Sorcerer’s Apprentice hat. I wasn't too fond of the "I'm a hungry bunny. Feed me!" end of the short movie. Otherwise it was a fun few minutes.

I would like to say that the animation in this movie was amazing! The landscape sequences (especially the ones in space) were jaw dropping. Pixar gets mad props for this movie. They've come a long way in terms of animation and this movie proves it. This was the best Pixar movie I have seen since A Bug's Life. As far as I'm concerned, Nemo, Incredibles, and the cooking rat were not good movies at all. Until watching Wall-E I had completely lost interest in Pixar. I was tired of them, their invasion of Disneyland, and their bad movies. However, Wall-E has redeemed them in the movies field (DL is another matter). Wall-E is an adorable, loveable character who, I think, will reach Nemo-level popularity among children. He had that knack to find the tenderest part of your heart and nestle himself there. When he hurt, you hurt. Eve, that itchy-trigger-fingered robot, was very different than how I imagined she would be. I was surprised that she was so aggressive at first, as well as so well armed for a vegetation collection robot. I was also amazed at how much emotion they could draw from robots that are generally, by inherent nature, emotionless. Usually when I think of a romance, robots don’t pop into my head. But Pixar managed it. And that’s why I think that Wall-E works. He, like Mickey Mouse, is a human deep down and has human tendencies and emotions.

The only thing that I didn’t like about the movie was the fact that it need villains, and that those villains were very unoriginal. I was very disappointed to find that Auto-Pilot was bad. It was like re-watching 2001: A Space Odyssey except with the added I, Robot factor of Vicki the main-frame wired into Auto-Pilot. That, for some reason, really bothered me.

Overall I give Wall-E 4.3 stars.

^I agree, Auto was simply not a villian. His actions may have sort of endangered the characters but overall, they wouldn't have been worse than they already were. All he did was follw orders.

Ever think that the villain might have been.... HUMANS as a whole? And that they are also the hero's along with the robots?

Just got the Wall E Video game for PC ( i read on IGN that Wall E for PC was very good, but it was bad on consoles) and auto pilot is pretty scary looking. You have to do puzzles to open security doors, and it shows him. He says stop! No! when you get through the puzzle, and he's got drills, and screw drivers, and deadly looking instruments in his hands. And there always moving around. Very creepy!
BTW the game was 20 bucks for PC, and is lots better then the 360 version, tried that at a friends, and its 50 bucks for console. So pretty much its a steal If you like the movie get the game.

What was that one from Flight of the Navigator? LOL technically it was emotionless... until the kid taught it about emotions.

Does it bother anyone else that M-O has a robotic voice in his head when he sees "Foreign Contaminat" that is not his regular voice?

Didn't the Terminator have something similar?

Quote:
Why is it that when some robots are left in darkness, they will seek out the light? Why is it that when robots are stored in an empty space, they will group together, rather than stand alone? How do we explain this behavior? Random segments of code? Or is it something more? When does a perceptual schematic become consciousness? When does a difference engine become the search for truth? When does a personality simulation become the bitter mote... of a soul?
