Thanks for the timeline of Disney movies! I found it very informative. The last good Disney movie came out June 20, 2002? They really need to make another really good one! And it has to be a musical. I could use more CDs with beautiful vocals.

I'm not sure Walt considered Steamboat Willie as a "film".

I think in regards to "feature length", which I think is what this list is encompassing, Willie would fall a bit short. While it was the first to incorporate conventional sound, Walt's idea for a feature-length film wouldn't come into fruition until he thought the studio was strong enough to start Snow White.

Willie, IMO, was more like Disneyland in it's ideals. It was never done before, Walt wanted to do it, and despite cost it amazed the heck outta people.

With exception to Fantasia 2000, this list seems to have only animated titles. Perhaps the person who started this thread intended for this, but did not clearly specify. Also, being such an old thread, they have not taken the time to update it.

That's pretty much the official list of Disney animated films. Wikipedia also has it at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disney_...features_canon and the short list is at Disney's own page at http://www.disneyanimation.com/aboutus/history.html

However, I think if one wants to explore the development of Disney as an animation studio, then the list really ought to include The Reluctant Dragon, Song of the South, Mary Poppins, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, Pete's Dragon, Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Enchanted. Those ones have significant enough animation to warrant inclusion, so far as I'm concerned.
