it was advertised again when we went to see WallE so it must be on it's way sometime soon.... it's going straight to DVD though I think.

I don't understand why they waste time on those straight to DVD sequels. The only good one I've seen is Lion King 1 1/2.

I think if they take their time and really do the animation well they can be good. The Aladdin ones looked like the Saturday morning cartoon. If you feel like the animators didn't love what they were doing then it's no good. I've never seen the 2nd little Mermaid, but this third one looks intriguing...

Wasn't there already a thread on this when the teaser scene leaked on YouTube? Yes, it's direct-to-DVD, but sadly, it doesn't not appear to be any better than tribute-ish 2. It's a prequel (like Lion King 1 1/2, only you're sticking to the main character and her backstory). The animation seems to be up to snuff (it's the same as the sequel, if that's saying anything), and the plot is... I'm tempted to say a stretch and totally predictable at the same time. it's not necessarily bad (I mean, even I could think up a coherent story with it), but there's just a lot of ways to royally screw it up, and with their rep for them, I'm not setting my hopes high. TLM is the most revered of the Disney films for me, and as a fan, I'm looking at this going, in the words of Tony DiNozzo "Trainwreck... I wanna look away but I can't."

I pretty sure the only decent sequel ever put out by Disney is Toy Story 2. None of the others really did it for me. Sadly.

Although The Lion King 2 was pretty good from what I remember

Yeah, LK 2 was decent. I'm not a TS fan, so TS2 wasn't a big thrill for me, and neither is TS3. The Cinderella 3 I heard was somewhat decent, but I haven't seen it. And Peter Pan 2 wasn't exactly horrible either because they found decent new voices for the Neverland cast.

Oh, Jim Cumming's is doing Triton for TLM III. That ought to be good. Cummings is a a voice actor who's done TONS of stuff for Disney (Pooh, Kaa, Tantor, Razoul, LOADS of characters on House of Mouse).

I thought they stopped the straight-to-DVD movies with the Pixar buy-out? Are these holdovers that are finally coming out or what?

Wait, what Pixar buy-out? Do you mean Disney bought out Pixar or the other way around?

When Disney bought Pixar, they put Pixar in charge of all animation.

This is one of the last ones. What what already in production is still coming to DVD, they just cut them off after that, and to it I say good riddance.

*quirk eyebrow* Are we talking about the same movies? Stitch 2 was an intro/premise for the show (Cinderella 2 was the three pilot episodes that tanked made into a movie form like the Tarzan sequels), and LK 1 1/2 was minor character focused backstory. then again, it's an opinion. Everyone can have their own. not a lot of people liked 'King of Theives' (Aladdin 3), but I agree with everyone in saying Aladdin 2 has a place down below where it can fry.

I was talking about Lilo & Stitch 2, you mentioned Stitch the Movie. Agree with you about burning every copy of Cinderella 2 and Aladdin 2
