Fraggle Rock the Movie

Has anyone heard about the 2009 release of Fraggle Rock the movie? I've always been a fan of the original series & I always thought Disney would be able to give a proper re-introduction to the fraggles.
Not much is known about the plot but that the fraggles venture into Outer Space (The humans world) & they meet many celebrities playing parts in the movie.

It's been a long time since I have seen Fraggle Rock. I don't mean to sound stupid or anything but is this show similar to the Muppets?

If how they handled the Muppets is any indication, then a Fraggle Rock movie by Disney will be a grossly unfunny obscenity that most people will ignore and will send the rest into reminiscing about how good the Fraggles were before Disney bought them. And then the suits at Disney will sit there scratching their heads trying to figure out what is wrong with the Fraggles.

That was one of my favorite shows when I was younger. I'm not so sure about a movie, maybe they should have re-introduced the show instead.

Wow... I don't know if I should be happy about this or not. I loved the Fraggles growing up, but I just don't see how they considered it for a new upcoming movie. Why is the question I have.

Unfortunately looking at the imdb on this now shows the movie for a 2011 release.
I like the idea of this tho. It would be cool if they used the original guy who did the voice for Gobo Fraggle in the movie.
