Well I'm talking about something like media center. Right now I record TV shows right to my external hard drive, family guy, futurama, the colbert report, all those shows that are on around midnight. Then the zune software picks it up, converts it to MP4, and I just hit the sync button on my zune, and it wirelessly gets sent to my zune, within something like a minute. And it takes something like 15 minutes for a half hour. But Media center has all kinds of stuff, if you have a capture card, it can record TV, and includes a free TV guide, as well as being able to have plug-ins. What im saying is if i get a mac pro, and I pop in a capture card, is there some sort of recording software, simmilar to media center?

That's a question better answered by those in the Mac vs. PC forum. If you've invested in a Zune & PC and are happy with Media Center, why switch?

The PS3 in the US doesn't have DVR capability... yet. But there's PlayTV for our PS3 "PAL"s in Europe.

Well I really like the Mac Interface, and you can use Final Cut on it. I've been in broadcast two years, and now im taking video production next year, and we just use mac pro's, with final cut. Thats why I want to switch lol.

I've read a bit of that forum so I kinda know what you're after and I appreciate wanting to have the swiss army knife of computers that does all jobs... but as someone who uses both types (for different purposes), I may not be the best to ask which to commit to. My PC and Mac get along together on a home network and I can choose what to do (or buy) on the platform that works best. Like I use my PC to store media files and use one of several media server programs to stream to the PS3 (some of those Disneyland videos are LARGE).

But this thread is supposed to be about Disney in Blu.

And it works pretty well at upscaling older Disney videos. I'm curious about the upcoming Blu version of Sleeping Beauty. Older, hand-animated films may benefit from remastering, but unless there are lots of extras, Blu may not provide much more excitement than upscaled DVD quality. I'd guess that the most visible differences will always be with computer animated (Pixar/Disney) films which are full of detail that gets lost at DVD quality.
