Walt Disney Animation Studios website just went live.

It looks a lot like the Pixar Animation Studios website.. Cool!
I hope this means Disney will have a much brighter future for Animated films - as for a reason why they even launch such a site.

Anyone have an idea of what "King of the Elves" will be like? 2D or 3D? I honestly never heard of that one before.

Well, the fact they included the Princess and the Frog on the website along with the 3D stuff, maybe that means they will have more in the future... Because just one out of the bunch is unbalanced.

The pieces of wild rumor and speculation I've found scattered here and there across the internet all point to CGI and most likely 3-D. The story involves elves that look remarkably like the surrounding foliage along the Mississippi. They aren't invisible due to any magic, they just aren't ever noticed. They choose a back-woods human as their King, hoping he will be able to defend them against an evil troll.

In 2001, Disney was in negotiations with The Jim Henson Company to do this film live-action with puppetry. That deal must have fallen through, considering that the title is under Disney's animation label now. More recent rumors are that the film is still live action with some fully animated CGI characters, and possibly some motion capture as well.
