I have stayed at all 3 of the Monorail resorts (Contemporary, Grand Floridian, and Polynesian) and my favorite is the Polynesian.

RESORT GROUNDS: In a word, beautiful - if you love Polynesia. Walking around the grounds I could feel like I was back in Hawaii. There is an abundance of trees, grass, and running water. There is also a marina where you can rent MouseBoats! At night you can stand on the pier and watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks.

LOBBY: The main building is called the Grand Ceremonial Hall and it is grand. The shop is very nice. The restaurants are excellent! Upon checking in we got everything we needed for the parks. They took us to our room by golf cart and carried the bags to our room.

Rooms: Hey, a hotel room is a hotel room. When I am at WDW I am never in my room except to sleep. However, that is not to say that the Poly is not wonderful. The room was spacious (compared to value resorts.) Housekeeping did a great job. Many days we would come back to the room and they would have done something creative with towels or Disney stuff we purchased. It was our 10th Anniversary and we got a nice card and misc stuff. If you have the money you can request a room overlooking Lake Buena Vista (aka 7 Seas Lagoon.)

TRANSPORTATION: Nothing on the Disney property comes close to the Poly in regards to transportation. You can hop on the Monorail or take the Ferry to get to the Magic Kingdom. The TTC (Ticket and Transportation Center) is next to the Hotel. From there you can hop on the Monorail to Epcot or catch a bus to anywhere on WDW property.

When making a reservation you can usually make a request. I suggest you ask for Tokelau.

Bottom line: I would give this resort a solid 9. If I had the choice to stay at any deluxe resort I would easily pick the Polynesian. But all this wonderfulness comes at a price.

Aloha!
