What's happening on the 24th?

I went to try and book for a few hotels and DL is closing early on the 24th and opening early because of a special event? Hotels are sky high that night too? Any ideas?

Ah, that's the date of the Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest red carpet premiere at Disneyland, so the park is closing early that evening for the premiere. They are opening early so that guests have ample time in the park for the day.

^^ I might be there that day, but it kinda sucks, because we can't go in the premeire or ride pirates we only might be able take pics of the cast(too many people crowded around the carpet will make it hard), I am still really excited to go to a red carpet premiere, but my mom thinks it would be just a wast of a day in the park because pirates will not be open and we have to leave early, and since we are spending the night on July 4-July 6 she said we can not spend the night this time (so she would be driving an hour and a half for little time in DL),so I might just wait until the 25.Have fun!

The CMs in the Gallery were answering that very question for a guest yesterday. They admitted that the management is being rather closed-mouth about it all, but that they did seem fairly sure that there will be red carpet from the entrance to the Rivers of America with a huge screen on Tom Sawyer's Island. According to them, only the big whigs will actually get to see the movie, but they were under the impression that if you got there early you could stake out a spot along Main Street to applaud the people walking the carpet. How does it work, if it's closed at 5 , how are you going to see the red carpet people?

I just bought a 512 mb memory card for my camera, so I'm set! I'm ready to take pictures. As many as I can, can't wait :) 5 more sleeps !!!
