Default Toy Story Live at Fantasyland Theatre

Hi everyone,

I know some of you may like the idea or not, but please be nice about this. Anyway, I found a rumor from Blue Sky Disney blog site and it said Disneyland will might turn Fantasyland Theatre into an indoor theatre with a possibly new stage show called Toy Story Live. Here's what it says:

As I reported last time, the Fantasyland theater is scheduled to be replaced around 2010 or 2011 by a new structure. Pixar Haters will not be happy to hear that the current proposal for it's show is "Toy Story Live". This is another stage show wrapped around Pixar characters, but played by cast members not wearing masks like the "meet & greet" characters. After the huge success of "Finding Nemo the Musical" Disney has placed this one on the fast track. Another show could be put on, but with Toy Story 3 being released in 2010 it would provide Dick Cook and Jay Rasulo another coordinated effort to increase capasity due to the marketing campaign surrounding the impending release of the third and last Toy Story film. This also falls into line with Lasseter's desire to release attractions and shows that corrispond to a current Disney or Pixar movie.

To me, that was a splendid idea. Think of it. Pixar will be our hero to kick Fantasy Faire out of the theatre and never return again. It'll probably be part of Disneyland's 55th Anniversary. So that means, my wish is coming true. I hope.

By the way, for those of you heard that the musical version of Toy Story will take place at Disney Wonder, it's true, but that's a different story.

You know, that might be a very good idea. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I support Fantasyland theatre turning into an indoor theater (or even back to an outdoor). Anything but this Bippity Boppity Boutique thing.

The theme parks were never meant to be a showroom for movies... *thumbs down*

The saddest part is they would make far more money by not worrying about how to obviously be squeezing every last dollar out of each guest.

What do you think the businesses of old did? Did they just not make money? Heck no! They made oodles and oodles of it, proportionally WAY more than is being made now. How? By focusing on the quality of the product and the ingenuity and creativity of their storytelling. Walt knew that if the product was good enough, regardless of how much it cost (remember he mortgaged his family to build Disneyland), the money would take care of itself. While Roy wondered how they were gonna pay for it, Walt knew that wasn't the main priority. What happened to that?

They are taking the quick, easy, and superficial way to make money. It is sooo very disappointing.

How many Toy Story attractions would this be now?
One, two, three?
Gosh, Roadkill...
Luckily this is just a rumor, and it should stay a rumor and die eventually..

The Toy Story live show is a new show going onto the Disney Cruise Line. Disney Cruise Line has had a history of putting together some pretty darn good broadway-style shows together such as Twice Charmed and Golden Mickeys. If they decide to bring it to Disneyland too, that's an interesting choice and I'm not sure how well it'll do in the theme park but I wouldn't cast it aside just because it's Toy Story based, it isn't some cheap quickly thrown together dreams campaign show or anything. Either you go and enjoy it or you don't. If you really like princess fantasy faire then maybe you're against it but they're trying to bring new things to the park here.
