For those of you suggesting a Wall-e theme, may I direct you to my thread----

Space Mountain meets WALL-E

It starts out as a Space Mountain re-theme, but turned into PeopleMover meets Wall-E!

I'd love to see the People Mover return, more than anything, BUT my main concern for Tomorrowland is its theme. WHAT IS IT?!?!

Tomorrowland needs to develop a consistent theme. We have little tastes of something actually conceivable in the future, a taste of fictional space travel, tastes of successful movie franchises, tastes of that white-futuristic look, and tastes of Disneyland Paris's Tomorrowland.

I'm fine with whatever WDI chooses, and I would have no problem with a prolonged period of reconstruction. Granted, I would be deprived of some of my favorite attractions for more than I'd like, but the ending result would be something that all of us could be happy with.

Let's presume that Disney decides to bring back the peoplemover with no track alterations or reconfiguring, just a spiffed up version, maybe a different storyline.

I don't think that its construction would necessitate the closing of BLAB, Star Tours, Innoventions, nor the Monorail. Though the track runs through these attractions, it doesn't actually affect them. Take Innoventions for example: the exhibits are physically seperated from the peoplemover track and it is reasonable to believe that any necessary techinal adjustments can be made without tampering with exhibits. In Star Tours and BLAB, once again the track just happens to run through the two buildings, yet Star Tour's operating is never contigent upon the peoplemover working.

This would be to say that Mr. Toad's Wild Ride would have to closed to work on Alice in Wonderland. Just cause they are in the same building doesn't mean that work on one means the closure of the other.

Also, the queue could run through the central hub thing where the Rocket Jets used to be just like old times, so the Peoplemover isn't taking up any large amounts of previously unused space. It would be illogical for Disney to plan on building other attractions on the segmented ten foot wide track corridors for the peoplemover.

Because the Space Mountain building is complex, I don't want to make any presumptions on closures.

Regarding the monorail, it may have to close, but Disney is smart and clever, and knows how to get guests around so this really shouldn't be a problem.

That's my two cents!
I hate saying this, but if we get a PM, they will have to change the track design. What they have now won't work, they'd have to change it. One big metal beam isn't going to cut it. However, when you remove stuff like that, it requires Welding, and we all know that it is very dangerous. Your right, Star Tours can still run, but the Queue would have to close. They could use some of the plastic orange covering on the sides of the track, but that is a very small space for workers to get around, and move things in and out. And if something went wrong, you've got a room full of Guests. That's not good.
However, they could develop a system to just bring people in and out through the exit for the few weeks the main Queue would be closed. And while there working on the PM they could spruce up the ST queue as well. Killing two birds with one stone.
As for BLAB closing, I'm not sure exactly where the PM track is. I think it is above the small hallway that takes you to the loading area. So you would hear any noise that goes on, and there is always a risk of fire, but I think they could manage to keep the queue open. As for the ride, Again, I'm not sure where that track goes, but it is above the ride. Now what they should have is a view down onto the people playing BLAB, weather they have that or not I Don't know.

Default WALL-E Peoplemover sounds good!

I'm all with cap10hook72 with the WALL-E Peoplemover idea, but it should be exactly like the one at Disney World.

Ya WALL-E PM would be good.

I would just like to see the PM come back regardless of the theme, anytheme would do as long as it was back.

I think wall e is great, because its a little bit more realistic looking, and not as cartoonish as say the incredibles. Its a good movie, but I don't think it will sit in well with the other attractions, but wall-e looks more real, rather than animated.

i don't know if I really like the Wall E theming idea but that's just me. I think disneyland should lay off on the movie themed rides for a while and come out with some ride ideas that are original to the park.

They need to tie them into some movie somehow so they can make more money off the merchandising and marketing. I doubt they will do it like before but even those rides were Sponsored by other corporations, so those companies did have some sort of tie-ins to sell before or after the ride.
I agree they should stop the theming or at least lay off the movie theming for some time and just maybe get some sort of other sponsor to go in on an attraction again.

It's hard for them to just go ahead and close TL down to fix and make a new ride for the PeopleMover track. They are just finally getting all 3 new monorails up and running, the subs just re-opened and plus they just opened the new House of the Future thing in Innoventions. It would not be wise to just go ahead and stop all that just for 1 ride right now. But I would hope that if they do decide to re-do this attraction that they would reconsider putting the rockets back up top and free up that room in front of TL for better traffic flow and room to watch the fireworks. The view from the entrance was not meant to be obstructed like Walt had said before, but apparently the suit and ties thought different.
I really do hope they bring back a nice slow ride to relax on up on that track. It really was nice to ride on and take a break. But it seems that today's General Public apparently has ADD can't sit that long and need rides that flash things and move like it's going out of style all while lasting a whopping 1 minute. So I doubt Disney will actually make it since sitting still requires patience and relaxation that this generation lacks.

I Think A Wall E People Mover Is Not A Good Idea. I Think The Old Theme Is Perfect And Should Just Be A Tour Of Tomorrowland. That Would Be The Best Idea IMO

^ Yes IMO that is what would be best with maybe a little original theming by Disney tied in.
