Default Fantasmic Special Edition???

I heard a rumor that they're planning to have a special edition of Fantasmic for the show's 15th anniversary. If this is true, I would love to see Aurora (Sleeping Beauty), Cinderella and Jasmine added to the Princesses' Medley and maybe having a Lion King sequence (similar to WDW's) added (or replace the elephants?).

noooooooooooo dont replace the elephants...they're funny. really add more princesss then if they do add more princess they have to change the mirror when he says "three lovley maidens..." maybe they can add more villains or make mickey go up on the rock thing that goes up like on fantasia. that would be so cool.

Hahaha....ok don't replace the elephants. But I'd still love to see the Lion King sequence from WDW incorporated in the show somehow. They can even add that Simba animatronic from POD.

I'd hate to have our jungle scene replaced for the lion king. The lion king is more of a shock value to woo the audience with how there's suddenly a bunch of animals up there. Our Jungle Book is a mood setter that transitions out of the flowers and suddenly a jungle is blooming, and it's far more artistic than just putting a bunch of neon giraffes and birds out there. They added the neon elephants during elephants on parade, which I still don't care for too much, but at least they didn't touch the jungle book =)

it would be cool to add lion king. and still have the jungle book scene. maybe they can add 1 more of the boats. you know the ones carring the monkeys and have rafiki and have the animals on stage and plus that can add another princess.

I like Fantasmic! just the way it is. If they made any different it would ruin it's magic.

I have to disagree with you on that one. I like it the way it is too, but it will eventually be so out-dated that they have to replace some aspects of it. Take Fantasy Waters for example. That show came out at about the same time Fantasmic did, and they never updated it. Now look where it is...In our memories.

I don't have a problem with making new shows as long as it's not a cheap production.

But for the record, Fantasy Waters came out before Fantasmic. A long while before Fantasmic. It was changed in the early 90s and then a couple of years after Fantasmic, after Pocahontas came out.. but it'd been there before. And honestly I liked the old show better(yay electrical parade music!). So it had a good run.

^ Walt said that fantasy, if done right, can never be dated because it is such a departure from reality. Fantasmic! can never become a dated show because, well, there's nothing in the show that dates it. Sure there's movie references, but they're of the classics and not of the new offerings simply put out there to mooch off box office returns. There's a lot of sense to the saying "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." This I would apply to Fantasmic!.

How exciting! I think they should add some characters from Fantasia. Like the hippos, alligators, ostriches, and elephants from Doance of the Hour. If those of you seen the original Fantasia.

Disneyworld's are a bit different...and certain effects are pulled off a little better because of how much bigger they are(the long row of thin ones that he uses against Maleficent aside). Ours goes in a tighter V shape, theirs are each straight up but they put them at different heights. I think the initial effect in opening mickey, after the 2 central blasts into the air when the fountains come on into their shape, looks cooler at wdw but they have a big theater where they don't have to float their jets into position each night.

When exactly is Fantasmic's anniversary? And I agree, add more princesses! But I like it the way it is, too.
