Yes, in fact WDW since it is its own city, has its own building codes and Fire Dept.

I think this is it.

I always considered this the first step that would have evolved into Epcot.

These names are simply references to geographical regions. They were never meant to refernce specific city limits. What difference does it make really? In all cases we're barely talking 20 miles away from the major city referenced.

No one who lives in SoCal say Disneyland's in Los Angeles, because we know where Anaheim is. However, travel to FL & they'll have no idea where Anaheim is until you say it's near Los Angeles. When people ask me where I'm from, hardly anyone even here know where Valencia is. When I travel, I have to say I'm from Los Angeles CA, otherwise no one would have any idea what I was talking about.

Why did they have to add (of Anaheim) to it. And besides the team that is actually in Anaheim is doing better than the team thats actually in LA. No offense Dodger fans.

They didn't add Anaheim, they moved Anaheim to the end of the formal name. The then California Angels franchise was re-named Anaheim Angels when Disney bought the franchise & made an agreement for a $300+M retrofit of the Angels' ball park funded by the City of Anaheim. Anaheim agreed to fund the retrofit in return for a mandate that 'Anaheim' be in the club's name for the next 20 years or so.

That all works until Arte Moreno buys the team & realizes he can increase national revenues & awareness of the club by renaming the club the 'Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim'. Moreno felt that keeping the 'of Anaheim' part at the end did not constitute a breach of the agreement he inheirited when he purchased the franchise from Disney. The City felt otherwise and sued, but lost the case. The club will stand as the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

^^i don't think that anyone was thinking about physically moving the parks.

what if they put the turnstiles where the yellow security tents are now. the turnstiles in front of the parks are removed as well as the gates. the esplanade area serves as a "no man's land" area (just like now) except that technically it's all the same park, but still 2 distinct parks. you know what i mean? nothing changes really except that you can go from Disneyland to DCA without exiting and re-entering.

It was called Euro Disneyland up until Oct 1, 1994 when they changed the name to Disneyland Paris. In 2002, it was retermed "Disneyland Park" at the "Disneyland Resort Paris". Many people still refer to this as Disneyland Paris.
