As you can see below, this year was one of the closest event's we've had. We took the teams throughout the park searching for the fine details that Disneyland has to offer. Then they sped through sections of the the park completing tasks that led them to a certain puzzle and trying to make a Mr. Potato Head that seemed to have too many left arms. I give you all a standing ovation for your hard work and not passing out due to the heat. :)

This is always an informal eat and meet that everyone is welcome to. If you want to bring your dinner from the numerous restaurants in the area, you can. If you don't want to eat, but still want to meet some of your VF buddies, then stop in. This meet can last anywhere from a few minutes to hours. The point is that we all try and meet everyone else and break bread with friends. You'll be surprised on how many teams have never done one of these hunts before. Those rookies might be a little scared on what they'll see the next morning. The professional hunters can scare them even more with their horror stories!

Personally, I love sitting around and listening to people tell stories on how much fun it was at the past events. I get my satisfaction not only with designing a game that can be fun for everyone, beginners to experienced players. I like how a certain cropped photo that stumped a team SIX years ago is still being talked about. Better yet, they still make a point to look at that item every time that you're at the park.

The time is usually around 6:00pm and again, you can feel free to bring something to eat and enjoy the evening. We might even get a chance to go into the parks and ride on some attractions. I would STILL love to go into Disneyland, head to King Aurthur's Carousel and when they ask how many in our party, I say... At this time we are taking requests for anyone who wishes to be a volunteer at the 7th Annual Digital Scavenger Hunt on September 8th, 2012. Volunteers will be needed for a number of tasks including but not limited to:

Assisting teams at the event check in, judging, assigned spots throughout the park assist the teams, event runners, game testing, attraction attendees, etc. Details about exact times and locations of all volunteer positions will be given later.

It's suggested that anyone wanting to assist this year send either Chris or myself a PM letting me what times you would be available to volunteer and what you would like to do. There are a limited amount of spots available for event volunteers so get your name in to me as soon as you can. All volunteers will need to provide their own admission to Disneyland Park, parking, food, etc. We ask that volunteers be at least 18 years of age or older for liability and safety reasons.

It's safe to say that most volunteers will need to report to the picnic area at the Disneyland Resort prior to the 8:00am team check in to get their assignments. So if you want to enjoy being part of the hunt, but don't think you'll be able to enter a team, get your information to me to be part of the VF Digital Scavenger Hunt.

We all heard (and if you haven't, you are now) that the Ronald Reagan Library is hosting a new exhibit that we all shall enjoy. The Treasures from the Walt Disney Archives!!!!!!!!!
Well I wanted to get a nice group of all of us to do a meet up and have a great time there. I have no planned date but if we all can come up with one it would be fun! I just wanted to post this to generate the buzz and find out a good schedule. The library is in Simi Valley, CA just about an hour north west of Disneyland, so if you are planning a trip to the parks, plan in a day of this too! The exhibit opens July 6th and they are recommending purchasing the tickets online. The library is really awesome with lots of other things to see included in the price. Air Force 1, part of the Berlin Wall, memorabilia of Reagan's and much more. They have food there in a cafe and a plethora of parking. Yes I used plethora. This doesn't have to be a "one size fits all" thing. Different groups with different meetup times and places. At least here in this thread we'll know where the options are.

Be aware some people may not be spending the day at the parks, so a meetup in Downtown Disney might be a possibility.

Consider options like people traveling with other family members or children. Maybe there's a possibility of different groups coming together at different times. We've done things in the past like dinner at Storyteller's Cafe in the Grand Californian Hotel.

Meeting for dinner can be problematic - people often don't all arrive at the same time, people may have to leave early.

So, let the discussion begin!

The 6th Annual :vf: Scavenger Hunt has just been announced for 09-10-11. Details of the Hunt aren't finalized yet, but I'm thinking 60 to 90 minutes before the start of festivities we could hit the pavement. Since our last meet a few weeks ago in October went well, and a larger number of people said they would be available in December, let's get into the spirit of the season a bit early and start planning! Here's how it's gonna go down:

STEP 1: Vote in the poll on which week you plan to visit the Disneyland Resort, and would like to meet up with fellow Visions Fantastic members (you can select more than one if applicable!)

STEP 2: Make a post specifying which days of the week(s) you selected you plan to visit the Disneyland Resort, and would like to meet up with fellow Visions Fantastic members.

STEP 3: Once enough people have voted and posted, and we're closer to the wonderful month of December, we can decide which days people want to meet up.

Hope to see you all out in the parks, last time was a whole bunch of fun, this time should be even better because HolidayTime at Disneyland is pretty much the best thing ever!

This event takes place inside Disney California... The staff of VF are in discussions on the return of the DCA Dash in the spring of 2011.

This event takes place inside Disney California Adventure and is a combination of an "Amazing Race" style of game with a scavenger hunt. It's meant for a smaller group of teams (somewhere like a dozen) with prizes of Disney Gift Cards for the top three teams. The teams would be required to perform certain tasks that they would choose from on three different legs. Plus they would be required to search the park for hidden items using cropped photos as guides. Points would be given for the cropped photos found and for completing the tasks correctly.

To assist the teams, mandatory breaks would be given to the teams between each of the three legs. It's during this time that the teams cropped photos would be judged and tallied up. The teams departure time for the next leg would be based on how many correct photos they got.

Above is a poll that I need everyone to mark twice. One for if they could make it and second, the weekend that would work the best for them.

I remember back in the day aka 2005-2006ish we always used to have VF meets. Somehow that died down over the past few years and usually the only time we have big VF meets is during the Scavenger Hunts. Well this is a chance to meet up just as fellow Disney lovers to come to Disneyland and enjoy the parks as a group. I know we have the Hunt coming up in a couple weeks, but I just wanted to see how many of you all would be interested in meeting up at Disneyland sometime in the somewhat near future? I've listed a poll for you guys to cast your opinion on what Month would be a good time to meet up. Now of course we can have multiple meets. I'm just looking at what time frame we can set these up! Feel free to add more details like what week or day of the month would be a good time for you guys. Hope to get this going again!
