Let's kick off the conversation with a few characters:

Mickey, in recent years, has been portrayed as nothing but a leader and a friend, with Disney seeming to have totally eliminated his mischievous, witty side. More casual fans to both would argue, "Gryffindor" merely for the sake of Mickey being the main character, per se, of Disney lore. He's a loyal guy, also a smart one, a brave one, and a witty one... What do the rest of you think?

An interesting one my sister and I have been talking about is Aladdin. Again, because he's the main character of his movie, everyone immediately thinks, "Gryffindor!" just for the sake of the protagonist/Gryffindor association. I don't think it's a wrong answer, but I think it's a far cry for Aladdin's personality. Come on, the guy is cunning, resourceful, and he does what he can to succeed, even if it's not the most honorable way ("You're only in trouble if you get caught!"). Better be... SLYTHERIN!

As a kid, my family was struggling financially and we had to live with my grandparents until I was about four or five. One of my fondest memories of living there? Siskel and Ebert. Every time they were on the air, my grandpa would make a bowl of popcorn drenched in an excessive amount of butter and salt, sit down in his chair, and turn on Siskel and Ebert. Strangely enough, I remember watching them with him, almost perfectly embedded in my memory. I even remember some of their reviews. I remember one episode where they reviewed some werewolf-themed horror movie and how my mom made me leave the room when they showed a clip from it, a fate I also suffered when they killed the wild pig in the first season of Survivor.

Although very fuzzy in my mind, I do remember how tragic it was when Siskel was diagnosed with a brain tumor. For those of you who watched the show, you'll most likely remember how he continued to review films from the hospital. If you don't, it goes like this. Some computerized (and rather pixel-like) pictures of Siskel appeared on the screen, continuing to bicker with Roger. Jeez who could forget their HILARIOUS bickering? Even some four year old kid found them amusing. Sometime passed, and in 1999, Gene Siskel passed away. A rather depressing episode dedicated to his memory was hosted by Roger. Even to me, it was very sad. Although death wasn't something I had really experienced at the time, a bit of emotion did run through my veins. From that point on, the TV was silent on the days of the show's airing. My grandpa resumed sitting in his chair to watch reality shows and the news, all in which I was not allowed to watch.

Fast forward to over a decade later. At the age of, I don't know, I'm thinking seventeen or eighteen, I started watching a web series entitled the "Nostalgia Critic." After many a hilarious review, I discovered a tribute to Siskel and Ebert. An awesome tribute that although had its hilarious moments paid a loving tribute to the famous duo. The Nostalgia Critic makes an excellent point in his tribute. Ebert's love for the movies was so strong that he strengthened our own love of the movies. In fact, I probably wouldn't be so into classic movies as I am if I had never watched the show or have red any of Ebert's internet entries. Many of my personal Top 30 films are in his Great Movies list, making him seem like a person I can relate to. And the fact that he had a blog, twitter account, and Facebook page that he would actually INTERACT with fans on made him all the more personable. You can tell that, although some of his comments were questionable and he did seem kind of stuck-up at times, he was a good man. From that point on, I would always read his movie reviews and watch old Siskel and Ebert clips. If I wanted to read about a movie before seeing it, I'd check the summary on Wikipedia first, then head over to Roger's website.

His wife Chaz mind you, is a wonderful woman. When Ebert was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and cancer in his salivary glands in the 2000's, he lost both his jaw and his voice. Some scientists managed to create a Stephen Hawkings-type computer that allowed him to speak with computerized words. They made a prototype machine that used clips of his voice from old interviews and episodes to make it seem as if it was his actual voice. It doesn't seem as if he used it that much. On an episode of Oprah he showed off his new look and new voice, in addition to showing the world how wonderful his wife really is. Aside from all the health problems, she stood by him no matter what. Even when it was found he would never be able to eat or drink normally again, she stood by his side. That is true love. I can only hope to find that one day myself. We all need someone like that.

News of Ebert's death last week shocked me. My favorite film critic will never review another film... At least he is no longer suffering. Farewell to a piece of my childhood.

God bless you, Roger Ebert. As a few of you may know from Facebook my son LOVES everything Tron. I always knew he liked motor cycles so I let him watch the light cycle battle from Legacy and it started from there. We are weekly watchers of Tron Uprising and he even enjoys the original film.

I decided not that long ago for his birthday I will get called into work and "Tron" will show up to his party. I started researching how to build a Tron costume, one thing that I determined quickly I don't look that good in a tight outfit. I watched Legacy again and noticed in the bar seen a number of characters were dressed more in tactical gear. I decided to take that route and spare everyone's eyes. I ended up using BDUs for the shirt and a MOLLE vest.

Now that the clothing was picked out I had two other obstacles to overcome. The first being the helmet since my son cannot know it will be me and the second what do I do for lights. I settled on using light tape or parallel EL tape for the costume. This is exactly what they used in the movie however the tape was printed directly onto the costumes at a cost of 5k per costume. The helmet became a huge challenge for me. There are directions on how to make a helmet and I made my best attempted. I ended up having structural failure when I was installing the visor, while repairable I was running out of time. I opted to use a welding shield which looks dead on to Tron's helmet in Uprising.

Initially I was a bit overwhelmed on installing the light tape and patterns. I used masking tape to get an idea of how things should be laid out and then got out the hot glue, soldering iron, and electrical tape. Connecting the light tape is a bit of a pain but it does get easier over time. Unfortunately you are a bit limited on patterns and what not since this stuff is fairly rigid.

Lastly I had to modify the pathetic identity disc Disney sells. I think the thing has only 12 LEDs and the Sam Flynn model glows blue. Obviously the toy division never watched the movie. I modified the disc to accept about 90 LEDs (much like the movie).

The end goal of this project will be all four of us will end the Micky's Trick or Treat party as "programs" this October. I am not finished with it but I thought I would share a number of pictures. I am currently working on installing light tape to the pants, shirt, and helmet. When I am done with with everything I will probably have about 5-6 battery packs on me.

If not, I highly recommend it! It's beautiful. I've only quickly flipped through the pages, but I cannot wait to spend more time looking a the gorgeous posters. It's a big book, and the imagineers who created it took great measures to match all the colors so the book looks exactly like the original posters. They even show the design process for some of the posters (which I totally geekd out on because I'm a graphic designer) For the size and quality of the book, the price isn't bad at all. Amazon of course has the best price. If anyone else got this, or already had it (I think it released in Sept), I'd love to hear what you think. Some FANTASMIC news! Last Monday, I was contacted by NFL Films in New Jersey to be a part of a documentary on the late Steve Sabol's life. As most of you know Steve Sabol passed away earlier this year from brain cancer and was the president of NFL Films and the son of founder, Ed Sabol.

Back in August 2010 I sent Mr. Steve Sabol an e-mail to see if he'd record a podcast introduction for my class podcast. Sure enough he did. You can hear that here:

Then in 2012, he passed away from brain cancer. They are now working on a documentary of his life for the series "A Football Life" on the NFL Network. The producers poured over correspondence between him and his fans and I was one story they really liked. So, they flew me to New Jersey, put me up in a hotel, and brought me to their headquarters (at One Sabol Way) to film my story. They also gave me a tour of NFL Films.

12. He acted like a big jerk when he won at the Skill Crane.

16. He would take Jim (the Original Fry Cook) over SpongeBob any day.

I assumed they were spider bites, but this morning (the 18th) I noticed a few more on my legs and one on my hand and arm. Now I am starting to think it may be bed bugs. I have inspected my mattress and can't see any signs of them, but I know that is often the case.

So my question to everyone is, if you have experienced bed bugs how did you treat them? I know an exterminator STARTS at several hundred dollars. I am currently sanitizing my bedding (thank goodness for HE washers) and have some baking soda sitting on my mattress which I will soon vacuum up. I am hoping that will pull anything up. I ask this not only because it's something in general that bugs me, but I just saw "She's Having a Baby", but they cut out the very last scene of the movie: around the end credits, there is a rapid succession of suggestions for the name of the baby, but it was cut, as most TV airings of movies are.

So what would be the solution here? What fiction crossovers do you want to see?

Some that I really want to see:

- Big Bang Theory/How I Met Your Mother/Friends
The idea originally started out as BBT meets Friends, as I started watching both generally around the same time. Then recently, I started watching HIMYM, and thought "I'd LOVE to see Sheldon interact with Barney", and since all three shows are so grounded in reality, I thought it would be awesome to have these characters interact in some way. Plus, it would be a nice way to catch up with the Friends.

- New Girl/Raising Hope
As compared to my BBT/Friends/HIMYM crossover, this idea is a lot less developed. What my Tuesdays have been comprised of for the past year or so was Fox Tuesday nights, which is comprised of Glee, New Girl, and Raising Hope. Since the latter two are half-hour comedies, I guess The idea of Jess, Nick, Schmidt, Winston, and Cece running around the loft looking for Hope while the Chances (and Sabrina) are out doing something in California just entertains me.

- Harry Potter/Kingdom Keepers
Not really a television show, but I was in the midst of researching the group days at Disneyland. You know, Dapper Day, Gay Day, all that. I came across Potter Day. I was in love with the idea that the moderators of the event upgraded the park to a Wizarding school open to Muggles. Then I decided "What if Harry and his friends vacationed there and discovered some... interesting secrets about the park?" Then I thought that it TOTALLY could cross over into the Kingdom Keepers franchise, as they discover secrets about the parks all the time...

- Glee/The Muppet Show
This was one that was talked about on the boards when we Brainstormed ideas for a Muppet Show reboot, and was the idea of MANEATINGWREATH. If I remember, the idea was to have Sue sabotage New Directions' chance at a competition by giving their bus driver directions for Muppet Theater and not the actual venue. I asked MEW if I could play with the idea a bit for Fanfiction.Net (which I haven't worked on in awhile), and in my solo idea, I turned it into Kermit specifically inviting ND to perform at Muppet Theater specifically.

Another idea on the boards was to have either Statler or Waldorf (I forgot which) fall in love with Sue, who has come to heckle the show, and decides to throw one of them off the balcony. Again, I kind of tweaked the idea so that Sue brought along Sandy Ryerson, and they sit in Statler and Waldorf's balcony, and Statler and Waldorf sit in the opposite balcony, attempting to fight back for their own balcony.

But, with the changes of Season 3, Sue is now nice to the Glee club, so if I ever find the time, I'll have to fine-tune it.

Yes it is true. Dick Clark has gone to the American Bandstand in the sky. He passed away yesterday from a heart attack. He was such a great influence of music and television from the early 50's till his passing. I have an article on my website (listed below) about his life and his legacy.

My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

I just watched the trailer of Dark Shadows, due out in May. As a child of the 60's and 70's, And a fan of the original soap opera, I was thinking, huh ?

Famous actors like Kate Jackson (Charlies Angels), and John Karlen ( Cagney and Lacey), played characters in the original soap, as well as two full length movies were made as a result of the popularity of the show, so how did Tim Burton come up with the idea to make it a comedy ?

Like a bad train wreck, I plan on going to see it to see just how bad it is, but I'm thinking, thank God Disney didn't decide to put their name on it.

Doing some Google searching I discovered that Walt Disney was deeply religious, and his religious faith is reflected in his movies. For example, Walt is quoted as saying,

As it turns out, Elias Disney (Walt's Dad) was a deacon and named Walt after the family minister Walter Parr. (St. Paul Congregational Church in Chicago) Walt's brother Herbert had a daughter named Dorothy and she married a minister, Glenn Puder. It was at Walt's request that the Reverend Puder delivered the invocation at Disneyland's grand opening on July 17, 1955. Represented at the dedication were Catholic, Jewish and Protestant faiths.

So there you have it. I cannot wait to see the rest of the game! Best part is my three year old loved it! So with the year nearly over, what were your favorite games that came out in 2011? I'll list my top 5, but just know if a game you expect to be on the list isn't, it probably only means I didn't get a chance to play it. And with that, here are my top games:

5. Pokemon Black & White (DS)
Yes, the formula hasn't changed much since the first game. And yes, it only adds more of the little critters, making it harder to keep track of how many there are and how we are supposed to "catch 'em all." But I had too much fun to care. The game play is as addictive as ever, and it's easily the best-looking title in the main series.

4. Super Mario 3D Land (3DS)
A fun game with varied levels and power ups new and old. A successful mix between Mario's side-scrolling adventures and his forays into 3D, a la Super Mario Galaxy. And the best use of 3D yet on the new 3DS. The only beef: it's pretty easy.

3. Batman: Arkham City (360, PS3)
From beating up thugs to soaring around Arkham City, no game does a better job of making players feel like they truly are Batman. Great look, great controls, great fan service, everything about this game is great. I tracked down all 440 of The Riddler's challenges. How about you?

2. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (Wii)
It took a while, but Nintendo showed what its little white box was truly capable of. The game looks great, blending the styles of "Wind Waker" and "Twilight Princess." And the motion controls are simply awesome. It makes the game play great. And it's long. So why is it only #2? It's so long that I haven't beaten it yet, and I can't see giving the #1 spot to a game I've yet to complete.

Portal 2 (360, PS3)
I've only had "Portal 2" related avatars and signatures for most of the year, so it is really any surprise this is my top game? And why not? The puzzles are better than in the first game. It manages to throw new elements into the mix to keep things fresh. It's a longer adventure, with a separate co-op mode to boot. The music is great. The writing is hilarious and the voice acting is top-notch. All in all, "Portal 2" has my Game of the Year nod for 2011.

All of this sitting in a Floresheims shoe box from back in the 60's. So now I present to you a look into the past and a piece of special history to me.

So what prompted this thread? For me, it's been watching a lot of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood lately. I bought the last blu-ray set recently, watched it, and am starting to watch the series again. The show is light-hearted when it needs to be, but can also be pretty dark and thrilling as well. The action scenes are well-animated and I like how it goes deeper than the first series did. And the ending? So good. (I won't spoil it for people who are watching it but haven't seen the end yet.)

This is awesome as these ships are massive! They fought through many wars and are also larger than the Titanic was. It is going to be fitting that it shall reside in the area near the Queen Mary. It's a perfect trip for anyone interested in that era. Back in the 80's I was fortunate in my childhood to step aboard the Iowa's sister ship The USS Missouri while it was docked in San Pedro and see firsthand the massive 16 inch barrels that laid siege to so many areas to defend our troops and fight for our freedom. I also got to see the plaque dedicated to the spot where the signing of the end of the war happened with McArthur and the other dignitaries when Japan surrendered onboard. These two ships were there in that battle. After past endeavors with the now-famed Searchers, he knew not to take things for granted-- everything happened for a reason, be it witchcraft or the flow of nature.

Ignoring the question, someone walking through an open door answered, “Struggling will do you no good.” He looked filthy, wearing a brown trenchcoat. Leo noticed the man's gray hair flowed onto his shoulders just before he flashed a yellow smile at the former Searcher.

“Excellent,” Coach Sue breathed. “Got the ex-Searcher all tied up like... Something all tied up. Filch, dispose of him.” Sue stood over him like an imposing vulture, wearing a periwinkle tracksuit.

“Miss Sylvester--” the mysterious figure spoke.

“Filch,” Sue interrupted. “Let's get something straight. It's 'Coach Sylvester', and it will be Empress Sylvester in a few month's time.”

Stroking his cat, Filch corrected himself, “Coach Sylvester, I'd love to torture him just as much as the next person, but I'm not so sure Queen Samantha would approve of us planning and plotting behind her back.”

“Quite frankly, Argus, I don't give a hoot. If this Queen can't even show herself to her own workers, what proof do we have at all that there is a queen?”

"There isn't anymore!" Leo shot. "The Searchers destroyed her back last June in New York or so!" The Searchers, after long adventures finally caught Overqueen Samantha, or Queen Samantha for short. Leo did have to ditch the New Directions, but it was all for a good cause. Sue gave the student a continued death glare.

“Empress Sylvester, I'd be more than happy to show our guest his rightful spot!” A green phantom-like specter was floating in Sue's office gleefully.

“Why thank you, Jeeves! Here, take a Scooby snack for volunteering. No, take two Scooby snacks for capturing this fool,” Sue dipped her hand into a bowl of crackers and tossed them at the phantom.

“It's Peeves, your heighness,” he wimpered as he caught the crackers and shoved them into his stomach.

Leo had to distract them if he wanted to escape. Just improvise... he thought. You've been in this situation multiple times before... Actually no, you haven't... Think, think, think...

Leo used his right hand, left untied by his side, to reach into his right pocket. Leo was tied up even tighter. He let out an ear-splitting groan, much to the laughter of Sue, Peeves, and Filch.

“Coach Sylvester, how could you do this?! Sure, I knew you were evil, but I didn't think you'd go and betray your own school to—AGH!!” The tentacle-like rope tightened its grip.

“Relax, geek. I can't betray the school if it's going along for the ride,” Sue muttered monotonously.

“Wha—NEEYAH!!” Tighter the tentacle rope got before returning to normal. Leo replayed Sue's last sentence in his head. “Relax, geek... I can't betra--” That's it! This is Devil's Snare... Hermione and Ron always used to talk about this! Either expose it to bright light, or relax... Relaxation is key...

“So the principal-fellow... He's along for this ride?” Peeves asked.

“Of course,” Sue breathed, taking a sip of a protein shake. “Acting under what magic folk call the Imperius curse. Good ol' Filch here took care of that for me!”

“Icky little squib Filch?”

Filch nodded in pride. “She granted me the power of magic for the moment. If I prove myself useful, I'll get to keep it all! No more use for those Kwikspell classes...”

“No use for Leo here either, but he's still around...” Sue jeered, noticing the Searcher still sitting in his chair silently.

“That reminds me, I haven't used much of my magic,” Filch whispered to himself. He pointed a rod at Leo. “CRUCIO!”

Instinctively, Leo leaned to his left side, tipping the chair over and dodging the jet of light. A bolt of light moved above him and shattered a trophy, as the Devil's Snare tightened again.

Bruised on his left side, Leo was at a loss. C'mon... You've heard Harry, Ron, and Hermione do spells, right? Um... Levicorpus!

It was as if an invisible hand took Filch by the ankle and suspended him in midair, shaking him to no end. Her jaw dropping, Sue's gaze followed Filch. Clink! Filch's wand hit the floor.

Okay, now get to the wand... Or make it get to you! “ACCIO WAND!” This spell Leo recognized as Ron practically abused it. The wand jumped in midair (“NO!” Filch bellowed.) to Leo's hand. As it landed, Leo recalled another spell the trio performed on a daily basis, “LUMOS... I thought it funny how all this snowballed because of opening Google and seeing a Lucille Ball tribute and since John Carter of Mars is coming out soon. My parents grew up here and saw all these transformations in the valley and I have been all over it and never thought about these things till I saw this. if you got any fun facts about The Valley then share it and enjoy the history lesson as I am!

Judging by modern theatrical technology I think it could. Avenue Q, Little Shop of Horrors, The Lion King, War Horse, and Shrek the Musical have proved advanced puppets can bring animals, Muppet-like people, carnivorous plants, and monsters to life without the use of extensive makeup. "Disney Junior - Live on Stage" is an actual Disney attraction found at DCA and DHS which utilizes rather small puppets of Disney characters from various Disney Junior programs, including Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. The puppets for this segment greatly resemble the character they are based on and have the ability to blink their eyes. Talking Mickey costumes do the same. Shrek the Musical also managed to bring cartoon characters to life through extensive makeup and costuming. The Producers and Young Frankenstein have proved that humongous set pieces can be changed out in a matter of seconds. Keeping all this in mind, I think that Who Framed Roger Rabbit could definitely work if put on stage. There would be some complications but things would work out.

The sets would be no big problem nor would the props. Costumes for human characters wouldn't be hard either. The toons are where the trouble begins. Roger would have to be an extremely elaborate puppet with the ability to bounce around, bend his body, blink, walk, jump, and change facial expressions (Even if the facial expressions aren't that big). His puppeteer could wear all black and do it Avenue Q-style by being visible and providing the voice and movements. The puppet itself can be very much like the small human-sized Timon puppet in The Lion King. Jessica would probably just be a live actress wearing a TON of makeup and costume to make her toon-like. Kind of creepy. The other toons would be very easy. Some can be portrayed by live actors (Heck, some of the toon-dressed actors could also control puppets), others can be Avenue Q-style puppets, some can be full-body puppets (Like Sweetums from the Muppets), and some can be puppets along the lines of those seen in Disney Junior. It can be done it would just take a lot of work and money.

After a long day at rehearsal I was lucky enough to catch the 2:20 showing of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. Believe it or not the movie theater right next to my house has been PACKED with crowds since last night. So packed in fact that they had to show the midnight showing on each screen. We were lucky enough to get in at 1:30. They had small queues lined up outside just for this movie. It was worth it.

Although the filmmakers didn't follow the book perfectly they did a great job nonetheless and truly captured the feel of this epic finale. Nonstop action, drama, tears (I didn't cry but some other people did), and surprises for those who haven't red the book. There were a few gasps every now and then. I have to agree with Roger Ebert on his review of the film: Voldemort steals the show. As an amateur actor I do admit that it is much more fun playing the villain than the hero, and that is made very clear through Ralph Fiennes portrayal of the evil wizard. Helena Bonham Carter does a great job as Bellatrix Lestrange, but unfortunately wasn't seen as much as she is in the book and past films. Her death scene isn't what I imagined it would be like. I was kind of hoping she'd be thrown through the Grand Hall window and land on the rocks below, but in this she gets hit by the killing curse, shrivels up, and then turns to dust.

There was one scene that really disturbed me...by all means I can watch any gore-fest horror movie whether it be Evil Dead or Evil Dead 2. An American Werewolf in London is on my Top 30 list. But there was one scene that really got to me - Fenrir Greyback devouring Lavender Brown. I understand that Fenrir is a sick jerk and all and I'm really glad they finally got that point across through film, but this was just crazy. Lavender Brown, Ron's ex-girlfriend, is seen at the Battle of Hogwarts dead on the floor with her eyes wide open. Fenrir, still in human form, munches away at her neck before spotting Hermione and being thrown out a nearby window by her. In the book it states that Lavender was attacked by Fenrir but it never states what her fate was. I guess they decided for us in the movie. There is a lot of blood in this movie and I have to say that the brief moment of cannibalism is probably the second-goriest part. Snape's death is pretty bloody too, but you only see it through a blurry window. You do see his bleeding neck later on but that's about it. Be prepared if you don't like stuff like that.

Voldemort's death has a great allusion to the first film when Quirrel disintegrates. Like Quirrel, Voldemort's face basically chars up and eventually disappears. To my nostalgic value a lot of footage from prior movies are used during an explanation of Snape's life. I really appreciate the fact that they even added a scene not found in the book - when Snape finds out that Lily and James have been murdered he walks into Harry's room, bursts into tears, and cradles Lily's body in his arms. It was a real surprise seeing Snape have a sudden change in character. It was also great to see the Chamber of Secrets' interior again.

It's too bad we didn't see more battle. During the hour where both sides get a chance to recover their dead you basically get a shot of the important characters who died (Which are very few at the time). Fred's death isn't seen but you do see his body. I don't recall the death of Lupin and Tonks covered in too much detail in the book but you do see them dead, their hands nearly touching. It's really sad. It didn't make me cry though.

And the epilogue was done right. I thought it would creep me out but it didn't.

And that's all I'm going to say for now. Or at least until some discussion comes up. This means all the photos, music, and other media gathered by VF will be obsolete.

Companies won't respond to everyone asking for permission for every single video made (weather using a piece of music, movie, or game). This bill is ridiculous.

And if this bill passes, it's considered a felony if you do it 10 times.

I just wanted to let everyone on this wonderful Disney community to know. Yesterday April 12th marked my 5th year working at Disneyland! I started in 2006 as a table busser and steward at the Plaza Inn restaurant on Main St. During that time I actually planned to transfer to Attractions about 7 months later, only to find out I didn't get the position. Then, I cross trained into order cook and working in the kitchen behind the scenes. About a year later I decided that I needed to move on from foods into something more exciting. In September 2007 I transferred to Entertainment into a sub-department known as Parade Support. Since then I've had the time of my life working at Disneyland. Driving parade floats and tow vehicles, stopping traffic and helping performers out, and even riding and catching barges and boats around Tom Sawyer's Island are some of few things that I enjoy doing at Disneyland. This is a huge stepping stone in my Disney fanatic career. I look forward to many more enjoyable times in Entertainment, and yes, I really cannot wait to get my 5-year pin!

I live about 2 and a half hours away from Disneyland. I'm very curious to what they were doing with them. Perhaps they needed fixed, and the specialist of some sort lives in my town? No idea.
I would have followed them, but I had to work. I'm keeping my eyes out the next few days though.

The driver had dark tinted windows, so I couldn't see who it was. (Probably a good thing)

MEW was searching for his half-brother, MANEATINGWREATH, who disappeared alongside the only object capable of bringing the story to a close. The Searchers, still searching for the Relic of Han-Ka-Tunoh, are locked in a cell with Wallace, Gromit, and Dark Helmet. Though sad at the deaths of Sean and Chuck, they have begun to plan their escape. Eva and Caesar are searching elsewhere. Meanwhile, the Nostalgia Critic has been forced into the realm of Quest For Camelot as a punishment. He and Kayley have been captured by the evil Ruber, along with his half-man-half-weapon lackeys and Bladebeak, an axe-chicken hybrid. They are on their way to Camelot. And now...let's proceed.]

monkey4057 had escaped the Institution.

Even he was amazed that he had managed this. It had been no easy feat, knocking out those guards. But they did seem interested in letting him do so in exchange for doughnuts. Note to self, he thought, find doughnuts.

He needed to find the Searchers and fast. He managed to recall sensing that they were trapped and had lost two. He tried to sense what they were up to now, but he couldn't tell; it was slightly harder to do so than usual. Must be from being locked up so long, he thought.

There was no time to waste. Dressed in his black-brown cloak, he ran from the Institution and into the nearby forest. Suddenly, he bumped into someone.

"Sorry bou-" he said, pausing when he realized who he had bumped into. "It's you!"

The stranger was a bit taken aback. "Why do you sound so familiar?" he inquired.

monkey responded, "C'mon, you know who I am."

The stranger looked at monkey from head to toe. Then he gasped. "No, it couldn't be." monkey nodded. "How do I know it's really you?" asked the stranger.

"You've heard me before, right? I've talked with you, right? Did you ever see my face?" inquired monkey.

"I think I saw a quick flash of it once. I'd remember if I saw yours," the stranger replied.

"Fine then," responded monkey, lowering his hood. The stranger gasped with even more surprise. His guess that this guy was a monk from Monty Python and the Holy Grail was confirmed wrong as he realized he was talking to monkey, whose face he had actually managed to get a glimpse of once.

"I thought you were locked up," said the stranger.

"Not anymore."

"I see. Say, can you help me? I need to find my ha-"

"I can help you, yes. But we can't go see him."

"Why not?"

"It's a trap."

Silence.

"What do you-?"

"She knows," said monkey, "She knows what your true motive is. She's set up a trap to stop you."

The stranger was taken aback. "Okaaaaay...now what?"

monkey thought a bit. Then he said, "Can you help me find the Searchers?"

"What did you sa-?"

"Can you or can't you?"

The stranger thought in silence. Then he responded, "Yes."

"Good," said monkey, "Now let's get going. We've got a lot of work to do."

And with that, monkey set off to try and get in contact with the Searchers, MEW at his side.

Ruber had just pulled up to Camelot. He had Julianna up front so that the guards would let them in. Kayley and the Nostalgia Critic were in the back of the wagon, bound and tied, along with Bladebeak and one of Ruber's lackeys.

Soon, though, they managed to kick the lackey out. Then Bladebeak said, "Bladebeak at your service," and cut the ropes binding them. However, before Kayley could expose Ruber, the Critic burst out: "Wait a minute! When did you turn into a good guy?! I didn't see a transformation, you didn't talk to anyone, there wasn't even a line of dialogue!!! Aren't you gonna fill us in?! Aren't you gonna tell us what's going on?! Just...Ex...PLAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIINNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!

The Critic's fury caused a nuclear explosion, exposing Ruber's plot. As the people of Camelot fought and presumably won, the Critic noticed a bunch of people heading out amidst the fight, unnoticed. They saw the Critic had noticed them.

"Want to come with us?" asked one of them.

"YES," responded the Critic, as he got out and away from Camelot. One of the people pulled out a remote, pressed a button, and they were all removed from the Quest for Camelot realm and placed in a StarSpeeder.

"Welcome, stranger," responded one of the people...or was it a horse?

"Hi," said the Critic nervously, "Would you mind telling me what's going on here?"

"Oh, sorry," said a man. He shook the Critic's hand.

"Greetings," he said, "I'm Striker. And we're the Searchers. Well, all of us except for those three over there, but yeah. We're out to find the Relic of Han-Ka-Tunoh and save the world."

The Critic looked at the huge group. "Okay," he said, "so, can you tell me what's been going on?"

"Sure," said the one called Striker, "after we drop off these three."

After dropping off three others, who called themselves Wallace, Gromit, and Dark Helmet, one of the Searchers approached the Critic.

"Hi," he said, "I'm DHI. I'm afraid that our adventure is so big we can't tell you verbally. But this whole thing has been documented online, so you can read that to get to know us. Actually, it looks like a new document is opening. Must be the new chapter. Hold on, it's missing a title. I can fix that."

And DHI took fingers to keyboard and typed on his laptop as the new document was titled:

Each year, an average of 250 tons of holiday trees are recycled in Long Beach. This year, Disney on Ice is helping the Environmental Services Bureau promote the importance of recycling and remind residents that recycling holiday trees in Long Beach is easy.

Disney on Ice performers will be at the Long Beach Police North Sub-Station, located at 4891 N. Atlantic Avenue, on Tuesday, January 4, 2011, 3:30 to 4:30 pm. Residents who bring their holiday tree for recycling and camera for photos will have the opportunity to meet the performers and take a picture with Mickey or Minnie Mouse.

You people here on VF are some of my good friends, and as with all my friends (And everyone in the whole world for that matter), I hope you have the happiest of all holiday seasons.

And now a sentimental tale of nostalgic and Christmas spirit: I can honestly say that this is the first Christmas where I've actually felt the "spirit," if not the true meaning.

Remember when you were little and how magical Christmas was? Some of my best childhood memories are from Christmas Eve and the morning after. Every Christmas Eve we head on over to the church where he have a powerful service with lots of carols, a nice sermon, beautiful songs from the choir, and one of my favorite parts of Christmas: The candlelight carol. Towards the end of the service the lights dim and we are each given a candle. The candles are lit as the lights dim and we all begin to sing "Silent Night." It's a very moving experience to me. It's been going on for years and years and I remember doing it for as long as I remember. Then there was the great feeling coming home from church and knowing that Santa Claus was on his way. I would rush home, get ready for bed, and put out the traditional plate of cookies and milk for Santa's arrival. In later years my little brother and I would also put out carrots for the reindeer. We would quickly hop into bed and pretend to sleep for a short while until finally falling asleep.

The next morning I would wake up around 5:30 (Much to the dismay of my parents) and head down the hallway and towards the living room. Unfortunately for me my mom would hear me creeping out from my room and tell me that I can't open my presents until EVERYONE is awake. I would then sit in my parents' bed until my brother woke up. IT WAS SO FRUSTRATING. Sure I had lots of fun joking around with my parents, but I couldn't wait to get in there and open my presents. After about thirty minutes my brother would finally wake up (Usually I assisted him in that) and he'd slowly move out into the living room. We'd see that Santa had came and that all of the presents from our family and friends had also moved under the tree. The stockings were gone from the stocking rack (We don't have a chimney or a fireplace) and thrown upon the floor, filled with tons of stuff. We immediately rushed to the Santa gifts, unaware if we'd get what we wanted. So many good memories of finding what we wanted. Then we'd open the stockings followed by a pancake breakfast and the opening of the other presents. We'd have all day to play with our gifts before Christmas dinner would arrive later on in the night. Everyone would come over and we'd have ham, mashed potatoes, and all that other good stuff. It was so much fun. We'd go to bed knowing that next year would be here before we knew it. So many great memories of baking cookies with grandma and mom, opening presents, buying presents, looking at lights, decorating the tree and house, going to Disneyland, etc.

Time went by and Christmas began to lose it's luster for me. Every year it would slowly begin to fade away. I lost that wonderful feeling I'd get from Christmas morning. What happened? Was I getting older? Was Christmas saying "goodbye" to my heart? My first three years in high school I had absolutely no feeling of Christmas. All it was was opening up a few presents and watching my brother get all excited. I kind of envied him as he still was able to hold that feeling of excitement. Sigh...

This year my heart was kind of light the second I heard my first Christmas carol. I remember hoping in the car after going out to eat after a show and hearing Christmas music playing on the radio (Keep in mind that this was a few days before Thanksgiving). I felt weird. We had begun work on music for our choir Christmas concert a few days before and the songs were very nice, they probably contributed to the magic as well. Days later I bought presents for my family with my own birthday money. This is the first time that I've ever bought presents for my family. I felt really good. I wrapped them myself and everything. It was just so awesome. Then I went caroling with choir. This is when things got really emotional.

Now at first we sang for the other schools in the district and that was nice (The most moving part is when a little girl cried during a song because we were singing about angels which happened to be her favorite part about Christmas), but the real powerful parts began when we went to old folks homes. This was just so sad. These people were SO happy to see us. I knew deep down that they rarely were visited by young people, and more than likely their own family and friends. It was so moving singing for them. When we left they all wanted to get hugs and handshakes. In the last home we went to an old man in a wheelchair (This was very touching) was extremely happy to see us. At the end of our first song he wouldn't even let us begin the next song. He thanked us at least a thousand times for coming in and lifting their spirits. He kept clapping over and over. At the end of every song he would always thank us and clap loudly. At the end we were all drawn towards him. He kissed every girl's hand and shook all of our hands. He was very nice yet very ill. You could tell by just looking at him. It was very sad yet moving at the same time.

Decorating and baking was nice as usual. I watched all of the usual holiday specials as Christmas came closer and closer. We did the official Christmas concert (Where we brought happiness to the audience, particularly those in need of it) and had a Christmas party for the seniors in drama on our last day before break. In late November/early December a good portion of us bought sweaters with our names on them and Class of 2011 and all that good stuff. Pretty much everyone bought them except for one boy who is going through really tough times (Money issues). He couldn't afford a sweater. So some of the seniors (I actually didn't know about this) pitched in money to buy him a sweater without him knowing. The man who made the sweaters came in with the box and began to hand out all of the sweaters, saying our names and whatnot. After we were done we got up on the stage to take pictures of ourselves and our new sweaters (The sweater-less kid stayed offstage because he didn't have one). As we got ready to take the picture the man handing out the sweaters said "Wait a minute what's this? We have one more in here...who is Henry?" Henry (The boy obviously) was like..."Lol what?" He got the sweater and just got really excited. He was able to take the picture with a sweater that he wouldn't have been able to afford if it wasn't for the kindness of others. I ALMOST cried, but I didn't.

This commercial gives me butterflies in my stomach and really gets me into the Christmas spirit. I don't even know how the holiday spirit will affect me once I go to church and open presents on Christmas morning. Christmas dinner will probably make it even better. I can't wait to start a family one day and make things great for them.

Today (Dec 10th), I was notified that I was chosen to be the "News 10 Teacher of the Month" for December!! I'll be in the ultra contest for "Teacher of the Year" as well from their station! I'm so excited! That's so cool.

I just wish my Dad (who was also a teacher for 41 years, and passed away on Nov 16th) could be here to see it!

They come out to interview and film me on Monday, December 13th for airing on Tuesday, the 14th (I've been told).

So, I've had a 50 Albums list for a while...but I realized if I actually tried to do a write-up on that...it would literally take forever. So I narrowed it down to 30. I'll be doing my list in this thread, but feel free to discuss your favorite albums as well. Let's begin, shall we?






30. Magical Mystery Tour-The Beatles



"Living is easy with eyes closed. Misunderstanding all you see..."

What better artists to start out with than The Beatles? These are the four guys that got me into music in the first place (as I'm sure was the case for A LOT of people, obviously). I will always remember that hot summer day RIGHT before entering freshman year...buying Sgt. Pepper and proceeding to listen to it 15 times throughout that day...back to back to back. It was THAT good. I remember that album TOTALLY opening me up to what the possibilities of music could entail. For that reason, I thought it proper to kick this list off with an album by the Fab Four. Magical Mystery Tour is a rather curious pick, isn't it? It's really a rather odd part of the Beatles discography. Technically, it's an EP released in correlation with the TV movie that completely tanked. And yet...in these eleven tracks, despite the turbulent history surrounding them...magic happens. Under-rated magic, but sheer magic, nonetheless.

First of all, side A of this album has GOT to be the most listened to, most under appreciated single side of ANY Beatles recording, ever. None of these tracks got any sort of radio play, and yet they are all BRILLIANT. The opener Magical Mystery Tour was a staple of my childhood. I will always remember Paul's gleefully delivered "roll up for the Magical Mystery Tour, step riiiightt this way" at the very start of the song. From there, we get the lovely Fool on the Hill, the surreal and under-appreciated instrumental "Flying", a long-lost surreal George Harrison masterpiece in "Blue Jay Way", and of course John's epic "I Am the Walrus", which is the center of the entire album. The only song on the entire side that comes even close to falling flat is Paul's rather mundane "Your Mother Should Know", but even THAT has a charming old-school vibe to it. As a whole, these songs really build to a memorable cataclysmic climax with I Am the Walrus on this side. It really is one of the most well put together single "suites" in the Beatles cannon, right up there with Abbey Road's fabled B side.

And if the under-rated gems on Side A weren't enough to satisfy your Beatles cravings, surely the classic heavy hitters on Side B will do the trick. After Paul's pleasant if over-played "Hello, Goodbye", we get to the legendary Strawberry Fields Forever, which just happens to be my UNQUESTIONABLE favorite song of all time. After that, we are hit with Penny Lane, another classic song. The album rounds out with the enjoyable Baby You're a Rich Man and the classic anthem All You Need is Love. All in all, this album really is my favorite single piece in the entire Beatles discography. It's absolutely perfect from beginning to end, with only one or two tracks even getting CLOSE to mediocrity (which CANNOT be said with MOST Beatles works...the lads DID have their filler...) Magical Mystery Tour is one of the most shamefully under-rated albums of all time and a perfect way to kick off the countdown.

Stand Out Tracks: Strawberry Fields Forever, I Am the Walrus, The Fool on the Hill

29. Pinkerton-Weezer



"Screw this crap, I've had it! I aint no Mr. Cool. I'm a pig, I'm a DOG. So 'cuse me if I drool..."

Weezer is like the Family Guy of music. Crude, self aware, self referencing. Started out masterful, yet under-appreciated. (Blue Album/Pinkerton. Seasons 1-3 of FG) Vanished into obscurity, yet returned upon an onslaught of popular demand by newly discovered fans to produce good products that, while good, just DIDN'T feel like the same thing (Season four, The Green Album). From there, both camps proceded to pump out continually disappointing products until eventually becoming a parody, a shadow, of their former selves.

...Or maybe I'm just being too hard on Family Guy, because SERIOUSLY, New Weezer is just ridiculously bad. Having said that, NOTHING can take away from the legacy that is Pinkerton. This album probably has one of the more memorable backstories in all of music. Basically, the entire thing is Weezer's call to arms after the onslaught of fans and popularity, and also cries of "sell out!" that haunted them after the release of their ultra-popular Blue Album. Those two albums and Green Day's Dookie and Insomniac really go together great in that regard. Pinkerton itself is just chock full of pessimism, crude humor, and sex jokes...you know...for the kids! (sorry, I realize even TALKING about some of the content of this album may be crossing the line since this IS a Disney board...)

The album could really be viewed as a concept album about a washed up rock star. Starting with the thundering, electronic fused, and surprisingly poignant "Tired of Sex", the album proceeds to build up a huge WALL of...crap, basically, until the thundering single "The Good Life", in which the main character realizes his motivations and proceeds to tear down the wall of pessimism he created for himself on the first side. Really, Pinkerton could be considered a punk version of The Wall in some ways. Both feature main characters as washed up rock stars who build up their crap and pessimism throughout the course of the album, and proceed to tear it down by the climax. Or...maybe I'm just looking WAAY too into it. Either way, Pinkerton is like a punch in the face that Brad Pitt in Fight Club would gleefully appreciate. It's a short, LOUD, angry expression at the dark side of success. While getting panned upon initial release by both fans and critics, of course over the last ten years the album has grown to see the audience it so rightfully deserves. This album is nothing more, and nothing less, than ten sheer rallying cries for a generation. Pinkerton is truly a masterpiece of punk. (If you even classify it as Punk. Let's not even get into THAT argument...)

28. Turn on the Bright Lights-Interpol

I've got to admit, Interpol is not one of my favorite bands. While they have their stand-out features, specifically their innovative duel guitar playing that keep them at least a little bit fresh, I honestly find their song-writing to be a bit on the stale side, and over all they're nothing to write home about. Having said that, Turn on the Bright Lights really does stand out in their discography as a shining moment. The biggest flaw of this album, in my opinion, is something that plagues too many albums in general...the fact that it is pretty much totally front-loaded. There's some REAL soaring moments of musical greatness here, SPECIFICALLY in the staggering "NYC" which has got to be one of the most simple yet beautiful ballads/criticism of the titular city I've ever heard. The theme of bright lights in darkness really is the thing that connects the album, and while it's pretty subtle, it is pretty effective. The lead singer's rambling "turn on the BRIGHT...lights" in the middle of NYC, in particular sticks out. While not much of a concept album...AT ALL, Turn on the Bright Lights really does take you away to a dark, magical night on the town. It feels like something out of Nick and Norah...a soundtrack to a night where anything is possible and anything can happen...and probably will. Even if this is a bit front-loaded, it's still soaring music and WELL worth checking out.

Get this. ALL of the pictures are made out of Legos in impressive sets with impressive/creative characters. I think it's AWESOME that somebody did that. And it has inspired me to do something with Legos as well.

Remember the Haunted Mansion Ghost Gallery? Basically it was this website created by the cast members explaining the back-stories behind ever resident at the Walt Disney World mansion and how they are all somehow connected. I was thinking buying A WHOLE BUNCH of Legos and making my own Brick Testament-like site made with, you guessed it: Legos. Of course I would have to contact the owner of the Brick Testament and see if it's okay with him to do something similar. It'd be non-profit of course, because I don't want to get into any legal trouble with Disney. Look at what happened to the poor Extinct Attractions Club. They sold videos and merchandise of extinct attractions and got themselves sued. I don't want that to happen to me.

The point of this thread is to come up with our OWN back-stories for the ghosts of the Haunted Mansion (I think I'll do the Walt Disney World mansion, since it's bigger and a bit more popular and the WDW mansion would be easier to build, lol) rather than stealing from the Ghost Gallery (Which sadly no longer exists. I've looked for it and looked for it to no avail). Please post your own stories of ghosts from the mansion and I'll be sure to include them if possible!

Also please recommend current or old Lego sets that may be of some use in bringing the story of the mansion to life. Thanks!

Super Mario Bros. 3 - (NES)


I remember as a kid beating this game simply by finding the warp whistles to warp my way to the final world. The more I played it, the more secrets I found and levels that seemed impossible to me at first were now beatable. I'd take it along simply to complete level-by-level, secret-by-secret.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past - (SNES)


It was a toss-up between this and Ocarina of Time, but I went with this for nostalgia's sake. I remember on one playthrough not completing the game until I found everything, and I did. I'd take it along for that feeling again.

Final Fantasy VI - (SNES)


My favorite Final Fantasy game of all time. A good story, large cast of playable characters, great battle and customization system and perhaps the best music in the series. There was plenty to do in this quest, as well. Final Fantasy games don't come much better than this.

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night - (PSX)


The beginning of the whole "Metroidvania" era of 2D Castlevania games. Dracula's Castle was big enough, but when you unlocked the inverted castle, dang. More to explore, stronger enemies and stronger items, plus the game's true ending. I've beaten it multiple times, but keep going back to it every so often.

Disgaea: Hour of Darkness - (PS2)


Now here's a time-killer. This strategy RPG has a lengthy main quest, but that's only scratching the surface. A multitude of characters (many of whom have to be unlocked), plenty of bonus dungeons, the item world, the Dark Assembly, a rich master/pupil growth system, I could go on and on. Oh, and then there's the fact your characters can be powered up to level 9999. Yeah, if that rescue boat doesn't come for a while, I think I'll be set.

Alexander Anderson Jr., a pioneer television cartoonist who created the landmark duo of Crusader Rabbit and Rags the Tiger and two of TV's most enduring characters, Rocky and Bullwinkle, has died. He was 90.
Anderson, a longtime resident of Pebble Beach who had Alzheimer's disease, died Friday at a rest home in Carmel, said his son, Terry M. Anderson.
The nephew of Paul Terry, whose Terrytoons cartoons included "Mighty Mouse" and "Heckle and Jeckle," the Berkeley-born Anderson had apprenticed at his uncle's studio in New Rochelle, N.Y.,as a young man before serving in World War II and returned to work there after the war.
With television beginning its domination over radio as the at-home entertainment medium of choice in the late 1940s, Anderson proposed that his uncle begin producing cartoons specifically for the newer medium.
But his uncle, whose cartoons were distributed in movie theaters by 20th Century Fox, immediately shot down the idea.
"He said, 'If I have anything to do with television, Fox would dump me just like that,' " Anderson told the San Francisco Chronicle in 1991. "They viewed TV as the enemy."
Anderson then teamed up with his childhood friend and former UC Berkeley fraternity brother Jay Ward, who had gone into the real estate business, and they formed the Berkeley-based Television Arts Productions.
Anderson turned a separate garage-apartment building behind his family's Berkeley home into a cartoon studio, where they made their low-budget, limited-animation cartoons for television.
Anderson and Ward, according to the Chronicle story, pitched a half-hour package of cartoon characters they wanted to sell to NBC that included spunky Crusader Rabbit and his pal Rags the Tiger — as well as Dudley Do-Right of the Mounties, Rocky the flying squirrel and hissidekick Bullwinkle the moose.
Of his creation of Rocky, Anderson told the Chronicle: "I had worked on Mighty Mouse, and he flew around. I didn't understand the mechanics of how a mouse flew — or, for that matter, how Superman flew. But flying squirrels do fly, and that gave him the mantle of superness without having to stretch the truth."
Bullwinkle grew out of Anderson's appreciation that there's "something majestic" about moose: "They're macho, but they have a comic aspect, with that schnozzola of theirs. There are few creatures just begging to be caricatured."
NBC wasn't interested in a full half-hour of cartoons, according to the Chronicle account. But it did want Crusader Rabbit cartoons, which could be inserted into children's shows.
The syndicated"Crusader Rabbit," which became the first animated series produced for television, began airing regularly in 1950.
"Crusader Rabbit was the first animated TV star," said Mark Evanier, an animation writer and historian, who said he watched the adventures of Crusader Rabbit "religiously" as a kid.
"Crusader Rabbit," Evanier told The Times on Monday, was "a very important achievement."
"Early television did not have the money necessary to produce animation, and other animators and animation companies thought animation for TV was not feasible," said Evanier. "Jay Ward and Alexander Anderson working together showed them that it was possible."
But, according to the Chronicle story, the lack of profits prompted Anderson and Ward to go their separate ways in 1951. Ward returned to his real estate business and Anderson launched a career in advertising in San Francisco.
In 1957, Ward decided to return to television and move to Los Angeles. "At that point, my dad was offered an opportunity to go with him, but he decided to stay in advertising in San Francisco," said Terry Anderson.
In 1959, Rocky and Bullwinkle began their long run on television, beginning with the Ward-produced "Rocky and His Friends" on ABC.
It "was the first really witty, clever cartoon show that people followed," said Evanier. "The wit came from the Jay Ward staff, particularly Bill Scott, who was the head writer and the voice of Bullwinkle and Dudley Do-Right.


"They took Alex Anderson's basic concept and turned it into a legendary TV show."
Anderson, who reportedly remained half-owner of the rights to a dozen characters, including Rocky, Bullwinkle and Dudley, told the Chronicle in 1991 that he hadn't received any payments since Ward's death in 1989.
At the time, sales of Rocky and Bullwinkle videos were soaring.Anderson also felt he was not receiving proper credit publicly as the creator of the Rocky and Bullwinkle characters.
In 1993, he settled his lawsuit with Jay Ward Productions over the rights to the Rocky, Bullwinkle and Dudley Do-Right characters.
Born in Berkeley on Sept. 5, 1920, Anderson attended UC Berkeley before transferring to the California School of Fine Arts in San Francisco. He served in Naval intelligence during World War II.
Anderson's first two marriages ended in divorce. He is survived by Patricia, his wife of 36 years; his sons from his first marriage, Terry and Scott; three step-children, Matthew, Carolyn and Daniel Kennedy; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

They recommended the free program DVD Styler, but I can't get it to work.

Can someone please walk me through this? Using any program.. I just have no idea how to convert things.

You probably laughed and said: "I wonder how much they pay those people to act like it works!"

Well, a few weeks ago during fair time, they had a stand set up in one of the buildings. So I was looking at them and the guy told me he would do the tests to see if I like it. So I did. There are 3 tests, but one is where you put your feet together, hold both hands out straight, lift your right leg, and they push on your arm until you lose balance. Then they do it again while you hold the Pure Energy Band. INSTANT RESULTS!

I saw a difference on all 3 tests. So I thought its just a mind thing. It can't actually work that good. Well I thought I'd test it out a little more.. I came home with one. I've been wearing it for about 3 weeks now and I can tell a huge difference. It helps me sleep, it helps relieve stress, it helps you become more flexible, the list goes on and on. It does soooo much.

My mom doesn't really believe it works that well, even though she also saw results when I did the 3 tests on her. She always had trouble sleeping, so she wore it to bed last night. This morning she said she felt a huge difference.

So my grandma wanted to try it. I did the first test on her, and she couldn't even balance on one leg, she had to hold on to something. So she put it on, and instantly she balanced on one leg, without holding on to anything!

Mind thing? I think not.

Do any of you have one? For anyone who has been or is in a choir or chorus, has a fellow singer ever told you that you sing off pitch when you know you don't and then you kind of get psyched out wondering if you really do? It happened to me in my church choir with someone who I kept getting placed next to.

The weirdest thing was the week before it happened I was thinking how I had been trying to blend with her but was constantly finding her voice to be weaker than mine (not that I was judging her, per se) and I started thinking I can't push my voice down and it would be better to sing more naturally and attempt to get her to blend with me. (The choir director plays piano so cannot conduct, by the way.) I never said anything to her, just did my own thing.

Then the next week this choir member said that I was singing off pitch and sounded scratchy (scratchiness could have come directly after receiving communion, I think). She said she told the choir director about it and then added that the director had already come down on her for problems with her singing. I know the director just wants to have good music at the Mass and I am willing to take direction and improve in any way I can, but the director never said anything to me about my voice or technique. I had even been checking with the director before this incident to make sure I am blending well (I am a new member, returning after many years, actually) and am open to tips. So I think it all stems from the other choir member, not the director.

I used to take voice classes in which each student sang solos and most fellow students commented that my voice is clear, even though I need to work on my breathing to project it. So I was really surprised to hear the scratchy comment. Of course, it's been years since I've had my classes and private lessons.

So, my problem isn't so much that she said this or that it bugs me that she said it, but that after being told that by someone I got psyched out and I am super concerned about pitch now and a not as confident as before. It's not something that I think about all the time, just when I start to sing even around the house.

I'll begin.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit- The brilliant thing about this film is that despite some of its "dark" content, it's fun for everyone to watch. The first time I watched it I was really little and I still liked it. Heck I didn't know what was going on, but seeing all those cartoon characters in the real world is what did it for me. Nowadays the movie is flat-out awesome. Now that I understand the plot I find it to be much more interesting and even MORE awesome than before. Who doesn't love the piano duel between Daffy and Donald?

Wall-E- Sorry, I couldn't resist. While there were some parts a bit "off" I found it to be an excellent film. When I saw the first trailer I was actually thinking "Pixar has done the impossible before, but how are they going to make a movie about a rusty-little robot?" Boy was I surprised. Favorite part in the whole movie? Out there, there's a world outside of Yonkers, way out their beyond this hick-town Barnaby, there's a slick-town Barnaby! Out there, full of shine and full of sparkle! Close your eyes and see it glisten Barnaby...LISTEN BARNABY!

The Lion King- Hamlet with animals...that's crazy...or is it? I grew up with this movie and watched it EVERY SINGLE DAY. We have footage of me as a baby watching the movie and getting all excited when the animals made noises in celebration of Simba and whenever elephants (My favorite animals) appeared. Still one of my favorites and an instant classic. The casting was perfect as was the animation.

Ratatoullie- Another masterpiece by Pixar. A crazy concept that they somehow perfected. It was great from start to finish. And the rats (I hate rodents in general) didn't bother me one bit.

Star Wars- All six movies. That's right, all six of them. Some were worse than others, but in my opinion all of them were great. The newer trilogy however is obviously beat by the older trilogy by a long shot. I feel more comfortable watching the original three films in comparison to the "new" three films. Still, I think all of them are awesome and I definitely plan on showing them to my kids once I have them. BTW, I still have a giant Rancor monster action figure from the 80's up in my closet.

SPOILER ALERT

UP- All I can say is...I want a marriage/relationship like Carl and Ellie had. You couldn't help but feeling bad when Ellie died. Seeing Carl alone at her funeral with a colorful bundle of balloons is just the saddest thing I've ever seen. And then Carl is fined for the court by hitting that construction worker over the head. The film is filled with touching moments and I enjoyed every minute of it.

An American Werewolf in London- Scary yet comedic. Hilarious yet horrific. I wasn't really "scared" by this film, but more disturbed than anything. There's just something about it that makes you feel like you're scared when you're not. The werewolf effects (Including the transformation and the monster itself) are stunning for the 80's, and more realistic than anything I've seen in recent times. In the recent rendition of The Wolfman I was rather disappointed by the CGI wolf. The werewolf in An American Werewolf in London seems like it's "real" and actually terrorizing (And eating/mutilating) people. Much better werewolf than anything you could find in modern times. It also has an excellent and well-thought out story to boot.

Date Night- Bought the DVD last night! The combination of Steve Carell and Tina Fey is awesome. The movie is very funny and filled with action, an excellent combination. While it is inappropriate for kids (My little brother was forced to leave the room while we were watching it), it is one of my favorites and I find it to be very appropriate for teenagers +.

Dinner for Schmucks- I LOVED this movie. It was hilarious from start to finish and was surprisingly very moving and sad in some parts. Since it's a relatively new film (It's still out in theaters) I won't spoil anything. I HIGHLY recommend it to fans of comedy and any of the actors/actresses present in that film.

The Muppet Movie- A movie with a great message and lovable characters. Not to mention some awesome guest stars (Madeline Kahn *Cough* *Cough*).

The History of the World Part I- Mel Brooks meets a world history book...uh-oh..."The Inquisition! What a show! The Inquisition! Here we go! I bet your wishing, that we'd go away! Hello and hows everyone doing? Staying cool i hope!

This is the first in my episodic thread of my experience on the Walt Disney World College Program! As of now, i am currently 21 days from leaving California and heading east to Florida onward to Disney World! What can i say? i am very excited and have major butterflies! This is my first time on my plane, and my first time out of state, i have been to Nevada but as they say over here, Nevada does not count as out of state if you went to Las Vegas! Florida and California are also on opposites of the coast, not one state away! This be no mere three hour drive through the desert, but a flight over the whole country!

The Walt Disney World College Program is a paid internship at WDW. Students are interviewed, then eventually told of their acceptance and their role assigned. Students are given board at three on site apartment complexes and Disney takes the rent out of their paychecks (how nice of them right? ;) )

Why am i doing this? I want to do something i love with my life, i have always considered being a writer or model designer for Walt Disney Imagineering. I am even open to other careers with the Disney company, i am here to explore and find myself a career fit. This i feel is the perfect foot in the door!

I forgot to mention, i was accepted into the program as an Attractions Cast Member! From what i have heard as of late, i have been placed in Epcot Future World West Attractions! There have been unlikely circumstances where your work location is not accurate prior to arrival, however we will find out once im there! I am not too sure what Epcot Future World is, being i have never ever been to Disney World, but i know my area will include Soaring, Journey into the Imagination (thats the name right?) Nemo and friends, EO, Living with the Land, and many others!

This is just the first, i wanted to share this with all of you. Whether you are an program alumni, perhaps a student considering this, maybe even a parent of a student with questions about it, or want to enjoy or show me support! Here you go! Its all here!

I fly out and arrive in Florida August 6th, my check in date is August 9th for Disney. As you can imagine, i am a busy bee packing and getting everything ready, and yes very nervous! im going away for a whole five months! between the preparations and good byes, its been a lot of work! Feel free to cross-over stories, as the EPIC saga is all about crossing over. Of course, we may continue each other's parts as always, it wouldn't be the same if we didn't. So here I go:

(Brief Explanation and Background: monkey4057 constantly killed Fred off in the first story, even after I revived him once or twice. Later on, in a one-shot post that introduced Inspector Clouseau and soon left him behind, it was explained that Fred was brought to a pet shop and put in a cage every time he died. In this short story, find out what happens to Fred before Clouseau discovers him.)
