As most people do, i wonder everytime i ride pirates, what it would be like to eat there. Just seems like a great spot. Has anoyone been there? what would you rate it? Recommend? Not recommend?

Im thinking of doing a series of disneyland and disney movie/show covers. Ill be playing guitar over some songs, or just doing full out covers with me doing all of the instruments and singing. I was wondering if you guys have any requests.

so far some of the songs on lineup...

-Ducktales theme (going to be a full band cover, except ill be on every instrument)
-Fantasmic...thinking about doing some sort of rock anthem cover with all sorts or instruments, this one would take a long time but if I don't mess it up, it could be sweet.
-main street electrical parade, aka baroque hoedown. I would be playing guitar with the whole song.
-I have a couple jungle book songs in mind to do full out covers of, if you have suggestions here it would be great.
-Space Mountain original theme... This song I would love to do a full out cover with real drums and big fat guitar sounds with weird effects like they have on the original theme. I would totally flash it up though and go all out with the BIG sound it already has. I would listen to this with headphones everytime i went on space mountain, haha.
-I also have some goofy movie songs in mind, i would like some suggestions here. But im thinking of doing "stand out"

I would be recording these in my home studio, I play drums, guitar, bass and piano. I also like to use random aux percussion.
If you guys have suggestions for songs or anything, let me know. Im thinking of recording and videotaping a whole series of disney/disneyland songs and them putting them up on youtube.

So, I noticed a few things when I was strolling around Toontown yesterday.

1) One of the effects in Roger Rabbit was working again. The scene in the beginning of the ride, the dip that the weasels are pouring out at Roger and Benny have the illusion that dip is actually, y'know, pouring out. For the longest time, that effect has been broken.

2) Gadget's-Go-Coaster was just recently refurbished. I noticed it was all freshly painted again, plus the spitting frogs were working. I honestly can't remember the last time I saw those things working.

3) The old ball pit area for Chip n Dale's Treehouse was all boarded up for 'beautification'. I'm curious to see what will be happening...

It's always nice to see Toontown is getting some attention again, so what do you guys think? Anybody else notice anything new?

Hello all! As you can probably tell by my avatar, I'm quite a fan of the parade!
I have a bit of a favor to ask of all of you. If you happen to go to Disneyland during ChristmasTime this year on a Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, or Saturday, and watch the Christmas Fantasy Parade, can you please cheer for my friend Loren during the Toy Soldier segment? He's a fellow trumpet player from my college who made it as a Toy Soldier this year, but I sadly did not, so I'm going to be excited for him! I told him I'd be cheering whenever I'm there, but I think it would be awesome and possibly hilarious if fellow VF-ers could give me a hand! Thanks everyone!!!

Ok after watching Princess and the frog clips on Youtube my mind has been throwing ideas left and right! I thought i'd share one with you guys! Ok it's a Villians Merchandise store but... it'll be right between Pieces of eight and Le Bat en rouge by the little courtyard. Ok soo the enterance will be near an old courtyard with a dead tree in the middle of the area, and in the darkest corner will be an open doorway with beaded curtains. Above the doorway will read: Dr.Facilier's Voodoo emporium of Villians goods. The overall theme will be Dr.Facilier's Parlour with shrunken heads hanging and shelves upon shelves of potions and tarot cards on the counters.I don't know about you guys but I really do miss the Villians Lair and I wish Disney could bring something similar back! Anyways! what do u think?!

When you visit DL, was there any temporarily closed rides. EVERY time I go at least one ride closes on us. does this Happen to you?

Last time, I was going for Space Mountain but it closed a couple mins right before I was there. So I just went for Indy but when I was in line then the ride closed also. Later on during this day, Star Tours and Nemo were closed also but it was temporarily.

Weeks before that, I was in line and Matterhorn just temporarily closed also.
In May, thunder and small world also. The ride system must be really bad.

I'm asking if you people know the schedule for the fireworks for when they are showing.

btw why is RDCT the only fireworks that features Hub and Matterhorn fireworks?? all the fireworks show should use it.

well i havent been to DLR in quite some time and ive been lurking around the topics and i see a lot of things maybe being changed or shifted around for example, if im not mistaken i heard that Indiana Jones has been changed where he is trying to hold the doors shut....i will be going around early decemeber so if you know anything that has been changed and i should look out for just post away =] thanks

Wondering how many of you have taken the "A Walk in Walt's Footsteps" tour. I plan on taking this tour on Nov 24th....looks pretty fun! I've read all the stuff on Disneyland.com, but was looking for reviews from the VF folks!

hey guys, im not sure if this thread is appropriate but ill give it a shot, ok heres the deal, well my gf tried to register on her bday but they said they were unable to make a connection to the server or something like that, so we tried again later on and they said it was too late to register, so anyway me and my big mouth seeing how sad she was and how much she wanted to go, i said i take her, and now seems like a good time, around December, so i was just wondering what is the best prices for tickets, and if there were any discounts floating around out there that i should be aware of...if anyone knows anything just throw it out there it would be greatly appreciated, thank you

so when is it and what time does it begins?

I just had an interesting little story I thought I could share with :vf:

My family and I went to Disneyland on October third. We did our usual routine that gets us on around 25 rides with time to spare at the end of the day. It was around 3:30 maybe and we got our fastpasses for Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Forbidden Eye. We came back at the time the fastpass said and the ride was closed. We came back later and a CM working at the attraction informed us the ride had just re-opened. We then went through the fastpass line and got on the ride. The wait was taking quite a long time (even with the fastpasses) so I decided to "kill" some time by telling my party how the lights flicker in the que when the ride is operating and when the ride is shut down, the lights stop flickering and function as any normal household light would. FINALLY we got to the loading station and got on the ride. Once on the ride I immidiately noticed something was wrong. First off we got the Chamber of Destiny (I think that is what the center one is called) and I was bummed out because I like the chamber of eternal youth, but that is not what was wrong here.. , the lights that shine on the miny maras on top of every door did not light up! I thought that was quite strange. Once in the chamber the Mara head barely even lit up. There was a very dim yellow-orange light on it, and there was no special effects like the smoke or anything. The next thing wrong with the ride was the chamber of bubbling death, there was no laser coming out of the eye and also no fire. The last thing to go wrong was before you turn into the station, there was no special lighting on the Indiana Jones standing next to the boulder, just a white light. I was thinking: that was a strange ride! This is when the story gets fun. We were walking out the exit que and you would never beleive what happened, the lights stopped flickering! I then made a bet that the CMs would be announcing the ride was closed just around the time we got out. You can finish the rest of the story on your own! (In case you can't, here it is: we walked out, the CMs were announcing the ride was closed, and yours truly just got 10 bucks wealthier)

Hey everyone, just curious, is there going to be a new float this year? Last I heard entertainment would be replacing either the Mail Room or Ice Pond.

I was thinking the other day while at a local craft store that it has become so commercial to set up Christmas WAY TO EARLY...So what would I do?....Make the mansion spookier for All Hallow Eve then close it down on November 1st to refit it as HMH...It takes 2 and a half weeks to refit it or as they call "Overlay"...Perfect timing for the Holidays...I mean really..Perfect timing, Opens up the week of Thanksgiving and runs through the end of January...


With the closure to set up the holiday then take it down it takes 5-6 weeks which is a month and a half...then 1-2 weeks of refurbs through out the year..Thats a total of 2 months the ride is not open per year...I mean if they can close down SM in NOV they could do the same and I think it would be so much more magical to be scared(well not too scared..there are little kids but adding a gloomier feel to the outside) on All Hallows Eve then enlightened us during the Hollidays....I've never found "A Nightmare Before Christmas" really a Halloween movie..It's always been a Christmas movie to me...

I love the disneyland traditions and was a HUGE fan of Parade of Dreams. But when I saw this new parade I literally started crying, I just thought it was such a loss for Disney... Oh well :( Now onto the good stuff! I was thinking if I could have any parade what would it be... PIRATES OF THE CARRIBEAN! Just imagine pirate ships sailing along the streets of mainstreet along with up-beat music and the funny characters of Jack, Elizabeth, and the rest. That would be wonderful... If you could choose any disney theme for a possible new parade, what would it be?

Hello, I have several questions. First off, are we allowed to bring tripods into the park? I would keep it in a locker all day and get it out for the fireworks and fantasmic. This question leads into my second one, how large are the lockers? I never really pay attention to the size (who needs space when you can squish :D). My last question is if anyone knows when they Disneyland is getting a new parade? I have heard rumors this parade was temporary until the 55th anniversary, but then we asked a CM and they said parades typically last 18 months.

I go to Disneyland about four times a year, but on the 6th throuth the 9th i will be with a number of people and kids that have never been to disneyland, four adults two of them 21 and 19, and three kids 12, 11 and 3 1/2. i usually just come by my self, and do the rides and things i want to do, so a lot of both parks i never get too, but what are the things and places that i should take them, any suggestions, places that you like, any ideas will help.

Ok I may be stating something that has already been known for awhile, but I thought I'd share while browsing the Disneyland website that I noticed that RDCT is returning for only 3 nights from Nov 6th to Nov 8th, during the down time between Halloween Screams and Believe in Holday Magic. Too bad I can't make it into the parks, I would love to see that show again. More than likely I can just wait until January, since I am assuming that it will start showing again after the holidays are over.
