Hi all, thought I'd share a couple of recent findings the first is an album called: Solo Piano Moments EP by Tom Ameen which contains beautiful solo piano arrangements of both "Fantasmic" and "The Wonderful World of Color" the album is available on itunes definitely check out those two tracks! The second finding is an Album called Poppin' Guitars: A tuneful of Sherman and contains acoustic guitar arrangements by various artists of many of the Sherman Brothers' songs Disney songs on the album include "Winnie The Pooh" "A spoonful of sugar" "great big beautiful tomorrow" "feed the birds" "lets get together" "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" "I Wan'na Be Like You" "Chim Chim Cher-ee" and "It's a small world" The album also contains a few songs from the Sherman Brother's non-Disney project chitty chitty bang bang but a majority of the album is Disney If you like Disney, acoustic guitar or the Sherman Brothers' music I recommend this album it is also available on itunes. Happy listening!

Disneyland had a Phantom Manor orchestra-only suite from John Debney on their most recent edition of The Haunted Mansion soundtrack, and I was thinking that the same should be done for Haunted Mansion Holiday. I love the soundtracks from both Goodwin and Elfman, and I would like them to have similar treatment. Maybe slated for a seasonal-themed release? I think it's a neat idea. I'm interested in opinions.
So for my phone messages, I installed the whistling sound that is made when you go through the gates into the park.
However, I am trying to figure out what other songs are entertaining as ring-tones. A friend of mine, as an example, has Lady and the Tramps' Peggy Lee song as the ring-tone for her boyfriend.
Any suggestions?

I hope this is the right thread...

Anyway, for those of you who are really good at playing guitar (and are Disney fans), does anyone know the guitar chords to the song It's Halloween-lo-ween? I found a video where a bit of the acoustic version of the song is heard. Does anyone know by chance what chords are being played at the ''3:46-3:51'' time mark? Tabs are kind of okay but I prefer chords (I'm just a beginner) for now. Any help on this will be greatly appreciated! Thank you very much!
Everyone knows how the Haunted Mansion...

I created a thread like this on MiceChat, but I don't remember if I created one here, so ya...lol...

Everyone knows how the Haunted Mansion Holiday has two soundtracks, one for the 2001 overlay and one that has been used since 2002 until today (It will probably come back next year as well). Gordy Goodwin composed the first soundtrack which quite frankly fit the attraction perfectly. There was no music from Nightmare (Although the ghosts do shout "What's this?"), only original music and hints of classic Christmas carols gone wrong. A year later John Debney created a new soundtrack based off of music from the film. Only one track from Goodwin's soundtrack remained (The Stretching Room). In 2003 the 2001 Attic music was reinstalled and brought into the Exit Crypt to accompany the addition of Oogie Boogie.

Through much research (Technically much listening) I have discovered what songs compose the various tracks of both the 2001 and 2002 soundtrack. Observe.

2001 Soundtrack
The Grounds- This song is simple: It's just the Phantom Manor music box. The creepy yet strangely relaxing tune somehow fits in with the grim holiday theme and creates an unsettling mood. It scared me as a kid and was probably one of the main reasons why I was freaked out by HMH.
The Foyer- A chilling organ arrangement very reminiscent of the funeral dirge heard in the Foyer during the rest of the year. The organ plays a dim and eerie-paced version of "Up on the Housetop," complete with a ghostly choir of humming children (Going "oooo"). Every few seconds the twinkling of the music box would play a few notes of "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy." Probably one of the best tracks in the 2001 soundtrack.
The Stretching Room- This suspenseful melody doesn't have anything from Christmas carols as far as I'm concerned, just some suspenseful instrumentals and an otherworldly chorus of children going "la la la la la." At the height of the music there's a triumphant few notes of "Grim Grinning Ghosts," followed by more dramatic music before going to a few pathetic notes of "Deck the Halls" by a seemingly undead little girl.
Portrait Corridor-Corridor of Doors- There is no real carol prominent here, just a slow-moving festive song accompanied by an adult choir of the dead. A few short notes of "Jingle Bells" can be heard quite often.
Seance Circle- A fast-paced violin version of "Carol of the Bells" which serves as a creepy transition into the Grand Hall.
The Grand Hall- A demented organ and an adult choir rendition of "Carol of the Bells."
The Attic- A near-techno and fast-paced combination of "Parade of the Wooden Soldiers," "Grim Grinning Ghosts," and "Teddy Bear Picnic."
The Graveyard- A jazzy and orchestrated combo of "Deck the Halls," "What's This," "We Wish You a Merry Christmas," "Jolly Old Christmas," and "Grim Grinning Ghosts."
The Exit Crypt- A slow and mournful version of "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" with a few hints of "Deck the Halls."

2002 Soundtrack
The Grounds- The music box music is the same. For a short time there were holiday "scarols" played in the main queue. The songs were basically parodies of classic carols and even songs from Nightmare, sang by creepy ghosts with monstrous voices. These have since been discontinued.
The Foyer- A slow song similar to the intro of Nightmare featuring bits of "Making Christmas" and "Deck the Halls."
The Stretching Room- Same song as the 2001 overlay.
Portrait Corridor-Corridor of Doors- A harpischord and children's choir version of "Kidnap the Sandy Claws."
Seance Circle- A new song with hints of "Making Christmas" in it.
The Grand Hall- A graceful waltz (With some choral arrangements thrown in here and there) consisting of "Kidnap the Sandy Claws," "Carol of the Bells," "Making Christmas," and "Jack's Lament."
The Attic- A quirky children's choir and instrumental verson of "What's This," "Jingle Bells," and "Deck the Halls."
The Graveyard- "Jingle Bells," "Jolly Old St. Nicholas," "Grim Grinning Ghosts," and of course "We Wish You a Merry Christmas."
The Exit Crypt- In 2002 (Currently in the Tokyo version) there was a jazzy instrumental arrangement of the song heard in the Graveyard, finished off by a Dapper Dans-like humming. Today the 2001 Attic music is used in the Disneyland version.

So which soundtrack do you think is better? 2001 or 2002? I'd prefer a combo of both soundtracks if you ask me. What do you think?

Hi everybody, and welcome to the Disney Music Forum on Visions Fantastic!

I just wanted to take a minute to review what is and what isn't appropriate when posting in this forum, or, for that matter, ANY forum on VF.

This forum is a place for fellow VF members to share in their love for Disney music. To share information on songs, i.e. artists, albums, etc. But that's where sharing stops.

Under no circumstances should any discussion include music sharing, links to torrent sites, or asking where one could obtain copyrighted music illegally. Please remember this when discussing music. As with the rest of the VF website, failure to adhere to these rules can result in disciplinary actions including the offending member being banned from Visions Fantastic.

I'm hoping we can have some interesting and fun discussions without delving into the above topics. I'm looking forward to interacting with all of you on a topic I hold very near and dear to my heart - The Music of the Mouse!!!
