Does anyone have any recommendations or advice on a video capture card?
And what is a video capture card?

video capture cards are a way to play video into your computer so you can record it onto there. if you have a newer digital camera, you won't need a capture card because you can connect via something like firewire and digitally transfer the video onto your computer.

you'll need a capture card with a connection for either the yellow-white-red, a cable-tv cord, etc..., which you'll plug your vhs player into and then it'll usually come with some software that'll record it to your computer while it plays.
