Disney invents interactive 3-D projection system

A group of inventors from Disney Enterprises, Inc. applied for a pattent for a new a new interactive 3-D projection system, presumably for use in new theme park attractions. The system would "allow users at separate locations, to share in an interactive experience" and "to engage in a game that rewards a user that focuses light on the target area" The patent details, among other things an "x-ray flashlight effect" in which a user "may peer through the outside walls of the house of a cartoon character in order to expose the cartoon character that lives inside the house" who when surprised "could react with hand to mouth and with an audible gasp upon being discovered in its 'habitat', and the movement and sound actions would only occur as the flashlight is pointing towards them. More than one sequence, used in a semi-random series, may advantageously be employed to maintain the novelty of the interaction with the user."
