Its NOT happening at Epcot b/c if you read the Imagineering Guide they say that they're keeping the California film b/c it shows that it is a gift from DCA

believe me, WDS needs it. Did you know there's only nine attractions there? Nine. When i was at the Disneyland Resort Paris earlier this summer, it was crazy to watch because it was like a stampede to get to the gates of Disneyland Park and and then you'd look to your left and there'd be maybe two or three people headed toward WDS. WDS is such a tiny park and it needs a lot of help - but the author of the miceage article is right - with a little/lot of tlc, WDS has the potential to become a great park. and though soarin' over the world may not fit into the theme per se... i think it's allowable to ignore that fact simply because WDS needs good quality attractions *so* badly. i cant wait to see WDS grow and prosper.

WDS has been ungoing huge placemaking. They have 2 e-ticket attractions under construction right now and are adding to the studio tour and are adding a few new lands. Plus Soarin' Over The World doesnt even have anything to do with the movies.

The whole article reads as a sort of "what could happen if..." but he did mention something about the film being in the can, so who knows. It'd be nice to see a different Soarin' film, just as long as they keep Jerry Goldsmith's wonderful anthem intact. Tokyo's Indy ride chopped up John Williams' themes so badly my ears were crying.

Hehe....I noticed that when I rode Indy too. It was SO LOUD in some parts that it felt like my ears were about to burst. As for the musical score, I far prefer Disneyland's Indy. As for best musical score, I choose Journey to the Center of the Earth, especially the first part near the Crystal Caverns.

Actully their NOT keeping the DCA Sorin' film. Their creating it now. Why would somebody want to sore over California in Florida? It makes no sense.
I also read that in the OFFICIAL Free Disney Travel Guide.

If they are doing a new film in Florida, what is there to soar over there? In California we have mountains, valleys, deserts, farms, oceans, bays, forests, grasslands, theme parks, cities, everything possible to soar over. In Florida? Swamps, oranges, cities, space ships, swamps, beaches, swamps, parks, swamps, beaches, swamps, cities, and did I mention swamps?

I doubt the Florida film would be Florida only, pretty much for that very reason. I would expect it to be a hodgepodge of sights starting w/ the Mississippi River & east to the eastern seaboard. Points of interest that that crowd would be familiar with just as we're familiar with the sights we see in our Soarin' Over California.

i knew about having a new movie replacing the one in WDW, but not this, sounds interesting...

^ If you read it it doesn't really say anything about replacing WDW. Only a brand new one at WDS in Paris that is just in development.
EPCOTS probably will be changed eventually. I love ours though.

Epcot's should be changed, I mean, the joke about everyone in FL not getting that everything they're seeing is from CA gets old after a while.

look. i'm reading this straight from the book called unofficial guide to walt disney world.
"A peek behind the scenes with jim hill: Though this new Future World attraction won't begin entertaining WDW guests until 2005, plans are reportadly already underway to scrap soarin's IMAX film, originally created for Disney's California Adventure theme park. The replacement version, which is supposedly slated to debut in the fall of 2007 for Epcots 25th anniversary, will reportadly feature scenery from all over the world."
i'm not stating this as fact, because it is kinda a rumor, but it midaswell happen here. but just because they change it here, it doesnt mean they wont add one in WDS. They probably will.

gee thanks for pointing that out. Florida is actually much, much more than that. :icon_redf

Soarin' over the World would be better for EPCOT, considering its and international destination. Why just across the way is World Showcase. But I am more proud of the Californian beauty than the Great Wall of China, Sarengeti, Buckingham Palace and the Steppes. If they had to change ours here, it better be more about California or at least about America, since America has a vastness of beauty and sights unamatched anywhere else on Earth. So here in DCA in the future, either upgrade our film for California or the US or not at all.

Um thats not what Epcot is about sorry to disappoint you. Epcot Center has 2 areas Future World and World Showcase. Future World is about all the dreams and the ingenuity of the future to improve living, understanding, and helping the world. Where if we can dream it, Than we can do it. World Showcase is about the cultures of the many countries of the World where people come together in peace and share the wonders of their cultures for all to see. That Is What Epcot Is About ,Oh one more thing Dont beleive everything Jim Hill says most of the rumors he sends out are false

I once had the idea of a ride like this. But I won't disclose my information because I wish to build or present it one day to Disney.
