" Accident Today At Lights, Motors, Action
I went to MGM today. My sister hadn't seen the stunt show, so we decided to watch. It was almost at the end of the show. The good guy on the motorcycle went up the ramp to do a jump. When he hit the second ramp, it looked like he clipped the edge. He went head over heels and hit is head/neck on the ramp. He wasn't moving.
One of the bad guys on another cycle came over after and ended up falling in an attempt to miss the first guy. He seemed okay. He got up and ran to the first guy. People came running from everywhere.
They came over the speakers and said to do emergency evacuation procedures. The CMs started telling the audience to exit the stadium.
They brought out a tent like thing and placed it over the stunt guy that was down. Then, they took big paper things and wrapped them around the tent poles so that the audience couldn't see what was happening.
I hope the stunt guy is okay. He came down very hard on his neck. Very scary. Those guys really earn their pay."
Disney has tried to keep the incident very hush-hush. I've believe this is about the 8th incident at the show

Wow, that's so sad and scary at the same time! :frown: Bless his soul for doing all that in the name of entertainment and making people happy while at WDW.

I blame the happiest celebration on earth. What belongs out of WDW, stays out of WDW. I hope his family will be okay.

He was there. But then again he might of been unconcious, that happens alot with motorcycle/motocross/supercross/MotoX(half dirt half street) ect.

This is very sad news. I hope it isn't true about his passing. It is a risky business that he has chosen. Many people do chose a profession that has high risks of injury and even death. In any case he was doing something that most likely he had a passion for. I sympathize for his friends and family.

Let's have a moment please.:icon_cry:
I've recently been told that the stuntman has passed away. Disney has tried to keep the incident very hush-hush. I've believe this is about the 7th incident at the show, and the 1st death. Well, they've done an excellent job keeping it hush-hush. I just finished searching the Orlando Sentinel looking at all stories with the word Disney in them from May 18th (the day before the disboards post) until today, and there has been nothing. There were so many stories on Disney... I think if somebody lost an eyelash there it would be in the paper! Since we don't know his name, I can't search Florida death records to confirm it.
Where did you hear that he died?

Guys, since this is a rumor at this point, I'm going to put this into the Rumor Mill. If something comes to light (like an article or other official statement), I'll move it back to Off-Topic. Thanks

This is a rumor?? That the guy died?

I dont think this should go into the rumor mill. Why discuss weather a man lost his life or not. Either way its serious.
Just because this thread moved to the Rumors board, doesn't mean the story isn't true. It just means that it hasn't been verified yet. That's all that makes it a rumor.
It's a quote from a discussion board, without any news source to back it up. ...or at least I haven't found one yet, and nobody's submitted one. The post on DisBoards may be entirely true. There's no reason to think it's not. It's just not verified yet, that's all.
Also, I read the whole string on DisBoards and there was no mention there that the accident victim had died... so we don't even have a source for that part. That's why I asked Space Mt. where he heard that.
No worries. With all the news hounds sniffing around WDW it's just a matter of time before it's found out if it's true. News people over there are always checking DOSHA records, hospitals, etc. whenever there's a rumor like this. They love to report on how unsafe things are at Disney Parks. :icon_roll

I actually heard it from a friend, he's a CM at MGM. He wouldn't actually give me any details. For now i'll leave it as injured, since no details of death have been reported by a reliable source.
I'd call the word of a CM you know personally a pretty substantial rumor.
I will say this, they did an unusually good job at hushing this accident up. You know the press would be all over this like flies. I wonder how they managed to keep it secret.

Well like Space MT. said they put a tent over the guy, and they probably closed off the area around the show. You know get all cm's out. And they didn't have news choppers because nobody is allowed to fly over the park. So the only witnesses were the people in the audience. And they don't even know the whole story. There good at hiding things from the media, like it was a week until ppl found out about the incident on BTMRR.

Hi.
My name is Pete and I was in the audience when the accident happened, which is a moment I will not soon forget. I reported this accident at Theme Park Insider...
Theme Park Insider Accident list (http://http://www.themeparkinsider.com/accidents/list_unverified.cfm)
Anyways, do any of you have an update or any additional information about this? Reading that the stuntman might have died froze my heart. I really want to know what happened that day...
Thanks.

This really suprise me. I mean LMA is a very dangerous show but I saw that Moderen Marvels: WDW and those stunt men are protected like crazy. I guess he wasn't protected enough. =(

Poor guy. :( hope he rests in peace. He's in a better place now. RIP

I don't think the dude died. So I guess he could be resting in peace. But hopefully he'll be able to continue on with the show once he's all done resting.
