How are August crowds?

I just had to change my DL trip from July 18-22 to August 1-5. Does anyone know if DL and DCA will be a little less crowded during the first week in August? Also, has anyone ever bought park-hopper passes off e-bay? If so, were they pretty reliable? I notice that they usually say that the tickets have to be used by a certain date.

I usually go to DL in August. It's hot and there are crowds, but it's doable. You should be ok.

Also, I would probably just order the park hoppers off disneyland.com. Cheaper and more reliable.

I bought park hopper's from ebay. I saved money, but I don't know if I would do it again. I bought from a person selling unused tickets, not a few days left on used tickets. The person I purchased my tickets from is not currently selling anything, and hasn't in a while. I would not buy used tickets with a few days left, as they may be signed, purchased with a credit card, etc. Also, knowing there were five 5-day tickets coming to me in the mail made me ultra paranoid. That's a lot of money if they get lost or stolen!

I think you're going to have crowds whether you go in July or August, so get there early, use Fastpass as much as possible and have fun!

Someone in another thread is asking a similar question and one of the responses reminded me that 1) a lot of LA school districts are on year-round calendars and may be on-track in August and 2) a lot of Mid-West school districts start in August and end in May. I've never been there in August but was there last year in late July and it was very hot, very humid and VERY crowded. Posters in the other thread are saying August was better than July.

I'm glad this topic came up; I usually go to DLR in early Spring or mid Fall. This year, I'll be going mid-August (if I wait until my usual October visit, I;ll miss the HM updates - HMH will already be there) I was worried about the summer crowds, but it sounds like it will be bearable. Thanks, everyone!
