| Mover of People ![]() | Isn't that funny? We're so drunk on happiness at Disneyland that smells that would ordinarily gross us out become signature things we look for & even miss when not there. Now we're wondering about a smell that hasn't been there for nearly a decade. Good stuff. ![]() -- PMM ![]()

The Mark Twain, the Jungle Cruise boats, the railroad, autopia, and, at one time, the subs. Oh, yes, let's not forget the parking lot trams...

![]() | The subs ran on diesel, not gas (and will continue to do so). The cars have always run on gas. Can you imagine those little cars running on Diesel??? Back then the ride could have been sponsored by Mercedes! |

![]() | they used natural gas on the subs and regular gas on the autopia and propane on the motor boats for those who remember those. the steam engines ran on diesel and so does the mark twain. the trams run on nautral gas. i know the different smells of the rides that is why i know so much about disneyland. |

![]() | I stand corrected... it was natural gas. Still pretty stinky if you've ever sat close to the front of the parking trams... unless you sit right behind the plastic shield facing the wrong way, then you're OK. The parking trams use a combination of Natural Gas and Electric, by the way. The driver is supposed to switch to electric once the tram gets on the straightaway (sometimes they don't). |

| hockey playin canadian ![]() | whenever I smell something that smells remotely like something from DL, I always think of that ride. Like Indy, it has so many unique smell and I love them all. also, whenever I smell the best smeel of all: waffle cones and ice cream, I always think if Gibson Girl. I dont remember the smell of the subs, but I bet I would be the same about them too!

![]() ![]() | It did smell in Tomorrowland before and after subs. Lots of information here about what caused the smells. I'm not saying I MISS the smells (certainly the churro smell is better than the stench of pollutants). Have to agree with PMMatt (for a change:old_wink: ) that it's bizarre when we get nostalgic over a smell that I, for one, would be carrying a protest sign against in another environment. |

| Random Azn Dude from CA ![]() | Strange, I never remember smelling that stuff...probably because I went to Disneyland when they had the sub when I was only five. ![]()
