Very interesting quirk indeed...
If you get up to round 5, you get a bonus 300 credits.
If you get over 20,000 points, you get 375 credits.
If you get over 24,000 points, you get 1000 credits.(!!1!)
If you win, you get 375 credits... Instead of any credits for points.
Meaning that if you win at all, you get 675 credits, regardless of how many points you got. But if you come second place or lower with more than 24,000 credits, you get 1300 credits.
It actually pays not to win.
