Slightly borderline-morbid topic, IMO.
Just for the record, most of the deaths recorded at Disneyland were due to guest irresponsibility. I just want to put it out there before someone comes in toting the "Disneyland CM error", etc....
And by the way, the information on those deaths can be found here:

I agree, almost all deaths at any park is because of the guest irresponsibility. but i heard on the mark twain someone died (forgot when or how)

Accidents happen, so don't blame Disneyland or the people. But it is still the guest fault.

I remember the Big Thunder accident in August 03, esp cuz it was less than a month after I had visited and rode it.

Ah, that's not quite what happened. As I understand it, he was sitting on the door side of the car (they tell you to have children seated on the other side) and fell out mid-ride. He suffered brain damage, but did not die.

There was one on Rodger Rabit Cartoon Spin I beleive. There was a few on Space Mountain in like 2000 where the train completely derailed. There was one in alice in wonderland or somthing happend on that ride in like 01. There are a bunch on Big Thunder Mountain. A bunch on Matterhron countain CM's that have died.

Y'all have forgotten a pretty big one: The Columbia dock incident.
The sailing ship Columbia was coming into the dock, and the deck castmember threw the mooring line loop (the rope) around the post, but the ship was moving too fast, and the rope tore a cleat (a large, solid iron piece) from the ship, and, like a rubber band, flung it at the waiting crowd of guests on the dock. In short, at least one person was killed on impact to the head, and more were critically injured.
This was pretty huge, because, while some cast member irresponsibility was involved (i.e. the ship approaching too fast), there was nothing to prevent such an incident from occuring (the cleat tore off more easily due to the older, rotted wood) in the event of a procedural abnormality. This case opened up a controversy over whether or not federal oversight was required (in the form of legislation concerning amusement parks) to prevent future accidents. In no way was this guest negligence, as most other accidents are.

The one that bothers me most is the CM on the Carousel of Progress, crushed to death between the rotating walls. Gives me chills to think of it.
Although some poor training and inexperience were pointed to in the Columbia dock incident, there was also a bit of freak accident involved. The Columbia uses breakaway lines to moor the ship to the dock. It's not a high-test line, and under that kind of pressure it's not supposed to be strong enough to tear that clete off the ship. by all accounts that rope was supposed to snap, and it just didn't break.

There was also one particular incident upon the Mark Keelboats. Alot of people were hurt in the incident.

I remember reading something about this in the Mouse Tales book (the second one, I believe). If I remember correctly, they had just recently switched to a nylon rope (that would put that much pressure on the cleat). The major issue involved was the wood rot around the cleat that was noted, but not fixed sometime before the accident.

Most of the accidents also occured on Grad Nights. Mostly is because people got drunk and thought they could do anything. I remember reading that two people got drunk and snuck to one of the canoes and went to Tom Sayer's Island. When they were coming back, I forgot why they haven't used the canoe, they swam back to the other side but one of them didn't know how to swim and drowned. The castmembers found his body the next day.

The major issue involved was the wood rot around the cleat that was noted, but not fixed sometime before the accident. Yep. It's in More Mouse Tales. It does say they switched natural fibre to nylon. But it also says that the nylon line was not high-test either and should have broken. And you're right, it does also talk about the maintainance issue of the cleat mounted in rotten wood. I forgot about that part. A conspiracy of unforunate circumstances.

ive never heard that RRCS one. but yes, I agree that most deaths are due to guest irrisponsable actions. but the death with the mark twain, when one of the cleets hit a man in the head while he was waiting in-line, was the CM's fault. I felt so bad for the CM cause I heard that he was brand new to the job. and also the one on BTMR was not the guests fault at all. the track just derailed, and I wouldnt blame anyone for that one.

You all are forgetting the People Eater, er, People Mover, Kids getting off in the "speed tunnel" only to be struck and dragged to death by the next set of cars.
ok BTMR was a maitence issue as it was logged that there was work needed to be down to one of the the trains locomotive. this caused the derailment.
In the Roger rabit incident it was a guests fault but disney settled not to make a scene. This was said by the parents to a good friend of mine that has no reason to lie about this. She was in a group therapy program with them and many other victims of tragic accidents in the so cal area. This program was for parents of kids who were involved in life changing accidents. The mother is very self involved and wasnt paying attn. There was also family issues with their family. not even 6 months after the settlement the mother and father broke up. They only stayed together to get publicity and win the lawsuit.
This is the employee that was crushed to death on America Sings. (her virtual grave site on findagrave.com)

There have been multiple witnesses who have claimed that some form of paranormal or unexplained activity has occured all throughout the park. The Haunted Mansion seems to be obvious, as well as It's A Small World, Space Mountain, the fire station....
There's more people at the park than you may realize.
I've heard stories of new cast members being hazed by the veterans. At closing time when they go clean the haunted mansion they send the new guy down the elevator and when it goes down they flicker the lights, make the soundtrack play backwards, stuff like that to scare the poop out of them.
But yeah I would love to see disney hire the TAPS guys and girls to come over and investigate some of the rides here.
