O k, I was at work on Saturday, when we were discussing some rumors.

Like:

Rock N Roller Coaster

Golden Dreams being moved to the Sunshine Plaza

Country Bear jamboree returning and moving near Grizzley River Run

Removing the parking lot behind the Tower of Terror.

Rock N' Rollercoaster is NOT coming to DCA, period.

Golden Dreams could very well be part of the placemaking project that will be coming to DCA's entrance.

Haven't really heard anything definitive on CBJ coming to GRR, and honestly, it'd probably be a better touch than the live group they have there on occasion. At least it'd be something else DCA could put on their attractions list and another way for tired families with kids to find some good entertainment with little to no wait time.

The Timon lot is the space that keeps coming up for DCA's next E-ticket attraction. It'd be very easy to do and could work wonders for navigation around DCA. Imagine Tower NOT being a dead end! That'd make me very happy.

Disney needs to bring Mickey's Philharmagic 3-d movie to DCA from the Magic Kingdom in Florida. It is the best 3-D movie that I have ever seen, and the sensory effects are wonderful. It could easily fit in the Millionare play it building.

Well you can't see the whole park anyway. You can't see California Screamin' or Grizzly Peak while you are on TOT. If you were intended to see the whole park they would have built the tower in a different place.

Yes they should bring it even though I have never seen it and probablly won't see it until I go to WDW in 2008!!! But if they brought it here to Calaforina DCA they could put it somewhere in hollywoood backlot.

Bring Mickeys Philharmagic but make it about 15 minutes longer.
Its too short. Its so fun but too short. My poor daughter Sally-Anne was up having a dance & before she knew it Donald was wedged into the backwall.
Put Under The Sea in it. Everyone likes that song.
And Pink Elephants on Parade to make everyone freak out & think they're
at a trendy 70's disco.

If they do rip out the parking lot behind TOT, I would like to see them expand the queue for TOT to be more like the one out at WDW with all of the trees, fountains, and huge overgrown garden. That way it gives more of an ominous feeling while waiting for the ride. Nothing is more cool than looking up at the tower through the trees at dusk right when they turn on the lights.

Remember that WDW's Tower has had a LOT of time to grow in. Those trees are so overgrown, the entrance looks more like you're going into a jungle than going into a deserted hotel.

See for yourself:

Now compare that with our Tower:

I say we got the better end of that deal. At least our Tower looks like you're entering a hotel & not going on safari.

^ Very true, although I still wish they could have made the outdoor queue a little larger (although in hindsight, I guess we wouldn't need it). A secluded garden or an empty pool, or something to that effect would have been nice. Just something that's away from the "street".

Other than that though, I'm very glad I have this version closer to me than the MGM version.

i dont know. i kinda like WDW's entrance.... isnt it supposed to look over grown? since "nowone" has been inthere since the disappearense(sp)?

^ Yeah, it should look overgrown, but MGMs is still pretty tropical for an abandoned Southern Californian hotel.

I think at this point, both outdoor queues look pretty unrealistic. As said, MGMs looks like a hotel would look if it was abandoned in a jungle, not SoCal. And DCA's doesn't look grown in enough to really feel like it was abandoned for over 60 years. It still has potential though. Hopefully as it grows in, it will really start to have an older feel to it.

All in all, In MGM I felt more as if I was actually on hotel grounds, although not in the setting they were trying to portray.

The lightning for our Tower hotel entrance looks like video game graphics.

They should have the theme the entrance old, damage, been untouched for at least 60 years. But it looks new, they won't stratch the beautiful walls just for themeing.

I wish Kevin's Tower of Terror site about the WDW version was still up. But it had a wonderful virtual tour that included the entrance that is still available from the Internet Archive. A few of the photos might have been dropped but you can check it out at

I didn't want to make a new thread about this, and I couldn't really find a more relevant thread in the Rumor Mill, so I'm putting it here. If someone else knows a better place, great. Here's the news regarding the Tower 4 drop sequence allegedly coming to DCA's Tower:

The plans to unveil a new drop sequence at Tower of Terror this summer have quietly been shelved by a marketing department now totally preoccupied by pirates. The final nail in the coffin for Tower of Terror 2.0 came when the new Monsters Inc. ride opened this past winter and saw lines of up to 90 minutes long each weekend. Months later the ride still continues to pull in huge crowds to the Hollywood section (as seen in a shot below from yesterday), and even the anemically performing MuppetVision show nearby has seen an attendance boost.

As it stands now, TDA would like to wait until at least next summer before they unveil the next Tower drop sequence. The first major Placemaking project for DCA will be done by then which will have given the park a much needed facelift of its entrance, and the new Tower drops is a marketing concept that could easily be tied in to the Finding Nemo media kickoff weekend in May of '07. Or, it's something that could even wait longer until marketing feels it really needs to punch up whatever message they are trying to get out. When it comes to DCA, they are happy to wait a while longer before they try to re-launch anything related to that struggling park.

YAY!!! I was NOT looking forward to Tower 4 at all & now it looks like we'll be enjoying the incredible air time this drop sequence has always offered for at least another year. I'm happy.
