so the Olympics have finally started. Im pretty excited about them, I try to watch everything I can and ice hockey is my favourite. so whats your favourite event??

My brother and his girlfriend are flying to Italy to watch the Olympics and they have bench side seating for the hockey games. So mad.

ooooo, that would be awesome. I am crazy about team Canada. the defending champs, hopefully gonna win again. in 2010 the games are in Vancouver, which is where Im planning on living at that time, I will certainly be going to a game or even more when they're on.

Hmm... I'm not seeing the opening ceremonies on NBC. They're already showing some kind of skiing. They're only showing it on CBC (Canadian Broadcasting) here. I'm really confused.

EDIT: Oh, I guess it's starting at 9 on NBC. Weird.

I have never been to the winter games - I have been to the summer games - LA back in 84.

My favorite events in the Winter games are the skiing events - any of them.

OK, what in the heck is up with the skating cows. Who was on acid when they dreamed up that segment.

How about those ladies - hey, we are going to dress you so you look like cows.

USA! USA! USA! USA! I think the Americans will win gold for men's ice hockey. We just have to remember the question Al Michaels asked the world in 1980: "Do you believe in miracles?"

I want my three hours back! What a waste. I love the opening and closing. I only liked the car that pulled a doughnut, and the lighting of the torch. I miss Athens, they had the best opening, (them and Sydney.)

I am a true blue die hard American but I don't think we have a chance at gold in hockey. We might medal but Canada and Check teams are extremely good. Russia is going to dominate the skating venue. I think America will dominate the ski/board events.

But regardless of nationality - I love watching the Olympics and seeing the best of the best compete.

her parctice today was cancelled due to her injury again,
emily hughes might just skate for the USA......

how did Italy make it into the ice hockey part. I have never heard of a player from Italy, I think its because they're host but i'm not sure.

I agree with you RU42, I just love watching the best athletes in the world compete. the skiing isis one of my favourites because it is just so cool to see people do that.
