I've heard from a Disney employee that they're going to be putting "The Weakest Link" where the old food building is in Hollywood Pictures Backlot building is. They're auditioning hosts now...
Good times!

That might be cool! I used to love watching that show before they switched hosts.

That show dated quicker than 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire' and I highly doubt they are looking for hosts before any kind of construction has taken place. Why would they put it into Hollywood and Dine when the existing 'Millionaire' building sits empty?

Never going to happen. First of all, Weakest Link is the property of BBC. Like Chris said, the show's fallen from whatever grace it originally had. Secondly, is anyone else aware how much backstage time was edited from those shows? Those tapings took an eternity! It would be nothing short of impossible to create a 40ish minute long theme park show like Millionaire was. Finally, H&D is the LAST place it would go even if it did happen. Look at how the placemaking was arranged, they're not going to do anything with that building for quite some time. I'm all for more game shows in the world, but this just ain't happening.

Yea... if anyone were to put up A WL show, it would be Universal Studios, as they have the rights with their new merger to NBC. (Plus there would be BBC obligations).
Aside from legal reasons... I dont think they would want this kind of show. While it is fun to watch on TV, seeing people publically mocked and insulted in person probably wouldnt be what Disney has in mind for an interactive show. Can you imagine it? A little girl crying in the audience because her mom was just insulted for missing a few questions, and being voted off the set.
If I were to build a new game show type show... I would have gone for Deal or No Deal. The top prize could have been the trip, and the banker could have offered various merchandise and what not, like free tickets to come back, upgraded AP tickets, Free dinner at The Vineyard room etc.
But this wont happen either. Deal is also an NBC product... which is a shame, because ABC actually developed the US pilot first, but passed on it. Thats when NBC grabbed it and made a juggernaut.

I was thinking something very similar Joe! DonD would be an awesome theme park show! There's no thinking involved, show's basically picking random numbers & seeing how strong your inner resolve is. It would be a tremendously fun show to watch & it needs very little in terms of space & man power.
If you want to play the show your self, there is a board game version of it out. I played it, wasn't too impressed, but it was sorta neat. One of my friends created a PC version of Deal or No Deal (I have many game show geek friends) & I actually won $2,500,000 on it. $2.5M was the top prize in the ABC pilot & we all were going absolutely crazy over it & it wasn't being filmed or for real money! I thought we were going to get calls from the neighbors because of excessive noise.
Unfortunately, NBC is doing it on TV, and ruining it. I liked what I saw that one week in December, but they really need to ditch the cell phone. I've seen other versions of it with this cool computerized banker voice telling the contestant the offer & it works much much better. NBC is going to have it air on Monday nights and it's simply going to get killed in the ratings because of it. Then, since the execs can't think for themselves one bit about a show, they will cancel the show because of low ratings. The game is good, but it can and will get old after a while folks. My prediction is it'll die before the fall season comes, if not sooner.
I digress, but yes I'd love to see a game show like Deal or No Deal come to a theme park. I don't care where it is. Put it in Universal, go ahead! They're giving their APs away basically so that's fine with me.
