I heard there was supposedly something obscene or something on the back of the Partners Statue of Walt Disney and Mickey. I heard after we left so I can't check...anyone heard anything?
ADMIN NOTE: By the very nature, and using your own words 'obscene', it is inappropriate conversation on VF. Please review our Guidelines.

it's an optical illusion.
stand in front of frontierland and look at mickeys nose.
I have a photo, but I won't post it.
(I don't wanna get banned or upset anybody)
you will have to see it for yourself.

I'm sure they didn't do it on purpose.

I think if you look at most anything from the right angle, you can find something perverse about it. Some people are constantly looking for things like this, others (like me) tend to always see the innocence in everything. Just like the so called obscene "symbol" in the original Little Mermaid poster, this one shocks me. I truly don't believe anybody intentionally designed the Partners statue to represent anything nasty.

For years now, people have been looking and "found" unappropriate things on Disney. In it's movies and everything. Piglet, I know the poster you're talking about and that's shocking that it was there. Just don't pay attention to it and just go by to your normal day.
I know what your talking about "protostars, lol. My older brother pointed it out to me and i think people at disney are perves. I don't think it's the people at Disney who are pervs, but the people who keep seeing these things. Okay, now stand just a little bit more to the right... okay now squint! Doesn't that look kinda like a thingy?! Oh come on now! It's the Partners statue, no the Parts-Nerds statue!

Wow, never noticed that. The next time I go to DL (which is probably 5 years from now) I need to see that for myself. :icon_roll

Ok, I'll use words. I am very disappointed that a thread like this exists. IMO this is beneath VF. I vote for closing.

it's just in fun....it is an illusion you can get at the right angle.
I didn't post a picture because I felt that would have been
out of line and not in good taste.
but discussion is what the forums are for.
and I see no problem in discussing this subject.
Let me lift this thread out of the gutter :icon_redf
and brush it off a bit eew!
and set it on a higher pedastal.
Ahem,
:icon_arro The close-ups DaddyB took of the Partners statue are great. That sculptor really captured the twinkle in Walt's Irish eyes. Amazing!

sorry if this seems to have landed in the gutter. :icon_roll
this was just an observation several people have made about a certain perspective view of the statue.
I was shown this by my own 15 yearold daughter last year,
it cracked me up...
I don't think it was intentional that they positioned it that way,
just a funny coincidence.
I enjoy the partneers statue very much as well, it is my avatar.
always has been, and always will be. it's my favorite photo I took at DL
and that speeking volumes as I have over 6,000 photos :icon_shoc that I have taken there.
just check my gallery and you will see a 'small' sample of them.
I'm not really that sensitive. I was just trying to have a little fun with everybody. But I did want to point out Walt's eyes on that statue. They're amazing. The sculptor is so talented. No, really, check this out (http://www.visionsfantastic.org/daddyb/2006_01_16_Update/08.htm)!

This is horrible! I am speechless. People please think about it... ewww There is NO WAY that was done on purpose. Only "some' people LOOK for that stuff the rest of us see it for what it really is.

Could not have said it better. This is the first I have ever heard of this. Every time I look at the Partners statue I look at it for what it represents and how it makes me feel just to see Walt in the park. Even if he is bronze. Not an explicit joke.

Well thanks to this thread, I may never look at the Partners statue the same way again.

I gotta see this. Too bad I found out just now. I went to DL this past Sunday w/ my sister. If my sister saw that, she would have laughed hard. I won't go back there till end of February. But really I gotta see this for my self.

I agree with you Matt. This topic isn't exactly wholesome and family oriented.

All we should say on this thread, is, the illusion makes Walt look excited.

Thread closed. VF is a family friendly website and this is not an appropriate conversation to be having. I'm sure there are plenty of other Disney websites where this topic can be discussed at great lengths.
