Does anyone know about this...
Each month there is a secret phrase that you can write down and give to a cast member at a disney resort hotel, which enables you to get things for free.
Sounds odd to me...but you never know!!
Anyone else heard of this or has anyone done this?

I heard of that too. But, if people started to give out info like this on the web, Disney might not do it anymore (if it is true, that is..)

Who comes up with the secret phrase? And if it's so secret, how would anyone find out about it? That sounds interesting, but anything "free" at Disneyland isn't going to be anything extravagant (or so I think).:icon_conf

What! You don't like the Mission Tortillas! Nor the Sour Dough Bread! And what about the free 400-500 free cars from Autopia they give out each day? Those are all free!
:~)
P.S. Two people in my group today won the cars, and we only went on it once! Soboth won on their first try of the day!

I've won aout 5 of those cars. my sister has won about 8 probably.
I have never heard of this phrase either but it sounds interesting. I have the same questions as RankoAnime, if its secret how do people find out about it? thats pretty cool though

Well, technically the tortillas are at DCA, but I LOVE them! Actually, last time I visited, the only thing I ate all day was one of those tortillas.
Actually, I never thought about those Autopia cars (it's been a LONG time since I won one). My mom had one of the winning tickets, but she NEVER looks at the card she gets. She was looking for a trash can and if I hadn't asked her what car she had on her card, she really would have thrown it away!! :icon_shoc Ever since then, my mom makes sure to check the back of her card before throwing it away. (I, on the other hand, save all of mine!)
This has all the makings of an urban legend.
I don't find anything in the Disney section (http://www.snopes.com/disney/disney.asp) of Snopes (http://www.snopes.com)
but it does get a prominent mention in the Rumors Central (http://www.disneylies.com./rumors/index.html) section of DisneyLies (http://www.disneylies.com)
so my guess is that it's as completely untrue as everything else at DisneyLies (http://www.disneylies.com).

...I was going to move this to the rumor mill section even before I read that it can be found on disneylies.com
but now, it's moving double quick!

Well, I know one thing for a fact because I did it. At the Mission Tortilla Factory, they give you a whole pack of torts when you wear the sticker saying its your b-day. It really wasn't my b-day that day, I just went to City Hall at D-land and said it was my b-day. Then I went for my torts...I'm a criminal, lol.

Remember the days when you got really special treatment when you would wear a guest of honor name tag?

Here is exactly what DisneyLies said about the secret passwords:
Just clarifying a few things... How or where can I use the secret phase and by using the secret phase what do you get? (September 13, 2005)
It's easy! Just go to the concierge desk in any of the three Disneyland Resort hotels, write the pass-phrase on a piece of paper, and hand it to the cast member. You will be given a free suite for up to a week, and all of your room-service and other in-room charges will be waived, as will the cost of meals and park-admission media charged to your room.
Be forewarned that the use of an invalid or expired pass-phrase can get you in serious trouble -- ranging from simply being ejected to having yourself and your family banned from Disney property for five generations. Look out for Web sites that claim to have the pass-phrase but don't tell you what month it is good for. In particular, be particularly careful about using old, pre-September 11 pass-phrases such as "I'm here to blow the castle."
pass-phrases for the balance of 2005 are as follows:
October: "I'm looking for tricks, treats, and a room."
November: "Gobble gobble. Gobble gobble gobble. Gobble gobble. Burp."
December: "I'm not just glad to see you, there's a candy cane in my pocket."

yes, dont you dare say "im not just happy to see you, i have a candy cane in my pocket.
you will be drop kicked off the property most likely...thats if they even understand what the heck your talking about.
Nowhere in the world is a resort/company going to just give away their most luxurious things and become your slave simply because you said a few words.
You HAVE to be someone...to get something, bottom line. A few words someone told you to say over the internet arnt going to morph you into royalty.

i love the tortillas as well, but i think Disney got wise and realized that people only go to the tortilla factory to ONLY eat the tortillas rather than actually learning about how they are made. that's why i think they put in that stupid video in the beginning so you can't just waltz in and get your tortilla. i hate that video!
Is it for sure? It's all a big joke, there is no special phrase that gets you freebies.

Actually, that video has always been playing since DCA opened. Some days they'll let walk right in, other days they'll force you to watch the whole video. I've done both in the past 2 weeks. Seems kinda hit & miss...and I just realized I blew my chance at a dozen free tortillas on my birthday. :frown:

Since this is getting way off-topic from the original, I'm going to close this thread. If you want to start a new thread about free things at Disneyland Resort, please do so.
