I stayed at the Ramada Inn Maingate Saga - It wasn't too bad. The continental breakfast sucked though. I think the Radisson was close by and it didn't look to bad from the outside. I've tried to stay at several hotels in the area just to get different experiences. So far the Ramada and the Carousel Inn seemed to have been the best for proximity, and the Grand Californian was the of course the absolute best. I really don't care to much though, because I am just looking for someplace to lay my head at night.

I've never stayed there but we walked and drove past it many a time last summer. It's definitely within walking distance to the parks!! We were actually originally booked up for the Radisson Maingate last year but paid the extra and got upgraded to the Hyatt. From what we saw walking past the hotel it looked OK. It looks a little more plush than some of the other hotels along the Dl part of Harbor. Having said that though the rooms didn't look spectacular but they looked clean and nice. Overall: nice hotel in a great location!! You're gonna have a great trip!!!! ;)
You're gonna love it!!!!

I'm not sure but the Disneyland Hotel is the best I've been to. Sure it's a little more expensive but it's a great way to keep the magical expirence going the entire trip.

On one of our trips, we stayed at the Candy Cane as always and our friends stayed at Ramada Saga because it was closer and cheaper. Well, we found this: In the morning we ate b-fast at the Cane. As always, great, lots of choices free cont. breakfast. Our friends, as others said in this thread, found the Ramada b-fast lacking. SOOOOO...we had decided to meet in the park. Well they had to go buy breakfast somewhere. By the time they bought breakfast for three...add that to the room cost...they spent more then we did.. PLUS...we were in the park riding long before they got there by the time they waited for breakfast at, I seem to recall, Denny's maybe. So be sure to factor all that in.

The one thing we have found is that the DLH is not just a 'little more expensive", but a lot more expensive, even on AP special rate nights.

You mean the one across the street of the Convention center. It's a good place but there is open sewage next to it, so I would tread carefully.

i've had 2 bad experiences at the maingate...foot traffic is way too loud for my taste. I am a devoted Candy Cane customer...if it's not a Disney resort hotel, I will only stay at the Candy Cane.

I've never been there before, my family has always stayed at The Best Western Stardust.
