 Hey everyone! I just had a couple questions. Me and my fiance have set our wedding day! We are getting married on June 25, 2006 in San Luis Obispo, Ca. We are planning our honeymoon, and of course we will be going to the Happiest Place on Earth! I know, we are going in peak season, which will be June 27- July 1. I know, I know, its not a smart time to go to Disneyland, but we are going for a while, and we wont be in a hurry. Can anyone tell me how busy it will be?? Which of the resort hotels would be the best to stay in? Any romantic perks anyone can think of? Any other advice? Anyone eles honeymoon at the DLR? Any feedback will be appreciated! Thanks everyone!
~* And to VF Mods, if I posted this in the wrong area I appologize now! Please move me if I did, I just thought under this heading would be appropriate. Thanks!*~

fourth of july weekend is a major headache.
that is an extremely busy time of year.
my suggestion is to open the park each day.
the first several hours will be your best ride times.

once it hits 11am to noon the crowds will be getting thick,
so bail out for lunch some where or just go back
to the hotel for some rest and maybe some honeymoon fun

then go back later in the afternoon or
early evening once it has started to cool down
(did I mention It will most likely be very hot as well!!!)

enjoy the trip, get some good pictures,
and make a honeymoon wish at snow whites wishing well.

good luck to both of you.....

N/P
DL can be quite romantic, I proposed to my wife there and we did our own 'unoffical' vows at the wishing well. enjoy the trip, no matter how hot or crowded it may be, you will be there with someone special, and that can make the place become completely empty to the 2 of you.....

it will be crowded there because

1. summer time
2. schools out
3. weekend

i would prefer you get a Parkhopper and stay at the Disney's Grand California Hotel (nice hotel) because the exit leads to the park of disney's california adventure and then you could walk to disneyland from there and back to disney's california adventure again :) i wish you 2 the best of luck and have a great time!

Thanks you two! Yeah I know it will be crowded. But I really wanted my wedding in June, and I want to honeymoon at the DLR. So I guess I have to do what I have to do huh? Yes, it is such a romantic place, and we always have the most fun there, away from the outside world. I love it, and we will definatly make it the best! I actually booked our plans today. We will be staying at the DL Hotel, 4 nights and 3 days in the park. We will be taking a tour, and taking time to see things we usually dont get to do due to lack of time. It will be great and I can't wait! Thanks you two, and if anyone or you two have any more imput, I would appreciate it! Thanks!

Greetings,
24 years ago we honeymooned at DLR. Actually, one night in Monterey, 2 nights in Pismo, 4-5 at the Disneyland Hotel. What made the stay nice was no commitment to a schedule. We had enough of the schedule business in the days leading up to the wedding (not to mention the stress). We just enjoyed our time together, and just forgot everything else. When the park gets too crowded, leave for a while. Being there as "just married", will make the trip different than any other stay you will have. Years later, the memories will still be fun to talk about. I agree with Protostars, it is amazing how little you will think about crowds. Just enjoy yourselves.
cheers,
Steve
...another thought, on the way down, stop into Solvang & pick up some pastries for a late night or an early morning nosh!

Anytime in the summer, especially when the 50th Celebration is wrapping up will be crazy. It's a good thing you are going for awhile because you will need it. Use that FAST PASS!!! Congratulations and have a great time!
My parents honeymooned at Disneyland in 1966 and their Disneyland Hotel cost them $19.00 a night! Can you believe that? They still have their receipt!

^that's great advice, but make sure to ask other people to take a photo of you both. My husband and I Honeymooned at the DLR and most of our photos are of one of us. I really wish I would have asked a CM or a nice guest to snap a couple of photos of us together. And COngrats and have fun!:p

Thank you so much everyone! And I will take everyone's advice and use it!! =)Its going to be a blast and I cannot wait! For you that honeymooned there, what was some of the romantic things you were able to do as newlyweds in the park? Like special places to eat? Special places for quite times? Special things to see? Any other advice would be great! Thank you for all your input everyone, and I will make sure to enjoy every moment, and get pictures of the BOTH of us! Hehe

Congrats on you engagement.......

I have not yet gotten a girlfriend thus i have don't have a lot of advice for you on honeymooning at Disneyland. The only advice that I have for you is for a restaurant that is romantic I would recommend a water front table at the Blue Bayou by Pirates of the Caribeen....I would also say that it might be nice to visit the Court of Angels in New Orleans Square..... That is all the adivce that I have.

Congratulations and I hope that you have a good time

Greetings again,
Last night, my wife & I were trying to remember the events of our honeymoon. That led to unearthing the wedding pic's, receipts, brochures, etc.. Our thanks to you, haven't done that in a while & it was great fun. Back to business here............We remembered a rather quiet lunch at the Blue Bayou. When we made the reservation, we asked for them to suggest a quiet time. The hostess asked, "why?" We said it was part of the honeymoon , and were trying to stay clear of the crowds. They gave us a table at the water, near closing, and told us not to worry if we were the only ones left, just enjoy ourselves. And we did. The window shopping in the Crystal Shop was fun, looking at all the things that we hoped to purchase someday. We spent a lot of time in the little out of the way spots, the little nooks off of the walkways........we even managed to talk there too! Now showing my age........we made it a point to get all dressed up and have a memorable dinner at the Shipyard Inn. It will be amazing how everything will be romantic. Once in at night, we would talk, make plans, write down notes regarding our future. We still pull out those notes, & see where we are. After 24 years, it still stands out as the most memorable trip.
cheers,

I'm going to go to the DLR for my honeymoon in Oct. 2006, and I was just wondering if anyone has had the chance to stay in a 1 bedroom suite at the Disneyland Hotel. I want to know if it wise for my wife and I to stay in a suite. If anyone has any info please post a reply.
Thanks a bunch :)

Also I think the best hotel for a honymoon would be the Grand Californian it is really pretty and it seems like you get better service(who won't give you that when you pay more lol)I saw some people actually getting married at one of the hotels.
