Yeah 35 mph sure does feel faster in the dark

As far as what they will do in 2027, I Hope they do not change it much.
As of right now Space mountain is almost 100% perfect.

Cant wait for Rockit Mountain!

when yer in a car for example when you're driving at night doesn't it feel faster than if you're driving in the day? I think it has to do with your eye coordination and the adjustment of the light that depicts how fast yer body thinks you're going. And, I have heard people that had ridden SM w/ the lights on, have said it looks and feels much slower than it really is. I think it just has to do with your eyes and adjustment to the light. Also, there are a lot of cooling systems inside the mountain so you feel more wind than you actually are getting. Just some opinion and info. ;)

Sorry man, but ive been on it 96 times since it opened and 5 times when it was previewed to the public. so about 101 times.

it feels faster due to the air flow in the building, lots of fans or air vents pointed against the track so you feel more air rushing by as you soar thru space. didn't you notice how cold it is in there????

it also has to do with the fact that ur out in the open..theres nothing in front off u ...like a cars windshield..so it seems taht ur going much faster...unlike when ur in a car and going 35mph ..but yeah the darkness and the wind play a big factor in making it seem faster

The lighting effects have alot to do with it as well. Disney is so good at illusions.

Yeah, when i first heard it was the fastest I couldn't belive it. But on rollercoasters banks and sharp turns make them seem faster.

Off topic, but I went on Space Mountain the other day. As I was passing through the speed tunnel (the flat track between the first and second lift hill), everyone noticed that someone had passed gas while riding. And, because the tunnels were so small, that smell lingered for my next two rides. Yuck!

Hello? there is a little thing called aceeleration. screamins goes 55 and in your car you can go 60 at times, true it is the wind, but it is outside with the light and it still seems faster. Space mountain probably has better accleration then your car. And yes i have noticed that it is very cold inside, i had to wear to hoodies inside!
