I suggest a quick Google search. I know he worked at the Main Street Magic Shop but as far the Jungle Cruise, I don't know but he was a CM. Anythings possible, man that would have been cool to have Steve Martin as a JC Skipper
"and if you didin't like my jokes... well EXCUSE ME! heh heh wait was that even a Steve Martin bit? anyways cut me some slack I'm only 21.
I know for sure that he worked at The Main Street Magic Shop.
As far as JC goes i have no idea.

Just as everyone said, Steve Martin did work int he MS Magic Shop, but no idea about Jungle Cruise.
About Steve Martin working at Disneyland:
Most famously
He worked at Merlin's Magic shop. - and learned to juggle from Fantasyland's Court Jester, Christopher Fair. This is also where he purchased the famous "arrow through the head" prop.
Also
He sold guidebooks at the main gate.
He tried to sell lasso s in Frontierland. - and although he learned to tie balloon animals from Wally Boag, he never performed at the Golden Horseshoe. He calls Wally Boag his mentor. "Watching his comic timing was a very big influence on my own career."
He was a stock boy at Tropical Traders in Adventureland. - but he never worked the Jungle Cruise.
I know as an urban legend it's a totally reasonable assumption, but it's just not true. He would be great though!

I think it was Kevin Costner. He met his first wife there. She worked as Snow White!
Costner was an actor, supporting himself by working as a skipper on The Jungle Cruise ride at Disneyland while his wife dressed up as Snow White. (I?m referring to his first wife, not his current wife)
Trevor Thompson - The Simon

Just confirming Kevin Costner was a Jungle Cruise skipper according to this article. I'm not sure how reliable this source is. I found several mentions of his first wife Cindy Silva being Snow White, so if he wasn't a cast member... well that's just creepy! Pickin' up on Snow White like that!
According to this biography that I just found while writing this
http://www.tiscali.co.uk/entertainment/film/biographies/kevin_costner_biog.html
he and Cindy went to college together, then both got jobs at Disneyland.
whew! You were this close to creepsville, Kevin!
The reason this little trivia tidbit is popular again is that Josh Goldstein and John Norville have submitted a Jungle Cruise script to Disney. They also wrote Tin Cup starring... Kevin Costner!
I bet we could play six degrees of The Jungle Cruise! I wonder if Kevin Bacon... er, nevermind
He would be great though!
Yeah he would be So Awesome.
