I've heard rumors that there will be a water park at the Disneyland Resort. I hope that it will be good.

A Disney waterpark in Anaheim? Hope it's nothing like any of the WDW ones. I am completely in love with Typhoon Lagoon but a replica of it wouldn't be good. Something new and fresh would be great. Anyone know when it'll be opening? Where abouts is it going to be located exactly?!

This is a rumor (and a rather old one at that). We're going to the Rumor Mill folks!

Thanks, Chris! Who and why would someone come up with such lies!
First of all, WHERE WOULD IT GO? Is it supposed to "MAGIC"ly (get my Disney joke? I thought it was funny!) be on the roof of the Marriot. Ohh, yea... I forgot, there were going to tear down the Anaheim Convention Center to put a water park in the middle of a city! That is right! Smack dab in the middle of Anaheim!
Second of all, who is going to go? It would only be open during the summer, if that! And no one, even Disney, can beat Raging Waters in San Dimas. Plus, WHERE IS THE MONEY COMING FROM? Does iger have plans to start taxing people?

i would go to the themepark, and they never said when they thought it would open, this could be true and it could open maybe as far as 2010, and then its a possibility

It's could always be an indoor water park. We used to have one here in Colorado.

a indoor water park would be awesome...but wouldn't it limit the space for the attractions?
I remember hearing about this.
I recently heard that There was a problem with the land they bought to build it on so they scraped the idea.
Dont know for sure but thats what I heard.

Indoor water parks rock!! We used to have one in Purley (town like 15 minutes away from me) and we used to go at least once every month. I loved it as a kid - had a birthday party there once. That was until they tore it down and built a shopping complex where it once used to stand. :icon_cry I'd love to one day see an indoor water park at the DLR though. Be a nice way to relax (well, not really but you know ;)) after a hectic day at one of the parks.
And it's Disney do come on... money is OF COURSE no issue!!!

it would be pretty cool to have a water park in DL, you never know what disneyland will come up with and always remember "There's a great big beautiful tomorrow, shinning at the end of everyday. There's a great big beautiful tomorrow, just a dream away!"

I heard there would be a water park, near DCA. Looking at the resort with DL north, hotels west, and DCA south, the park would be to the southeast, where, I believe, a parking garage currently sits.

It'd be really exciting. I never been to a waterpark before. The closest way for me to get wet in a ride is Splash Mountain and other water rides. I hope it will be indoors, though. That way, Disneyland Resort will have the waterpark open for 365 (sometimes 366) days.

I have been to the two local ones. Wild Waters in clovis, and The Island (shudders) I hope they play it more like Wild Waters, WW is on hills so the height is not a problem, while the Island is eight stories or concrete and the wait is long, for someone with a height problem, (me) it's just bad. You have to climb up, or walk up stairs. if they hide the height I'll be fine with it.
I had heard though it will be based of the POTC movies. Why, I don't know, but it's better than changing the ride.

I wouldnt be suprised either. If they did build a water park it would be put in the Convention Center Parkinglot because only 30% of it is used for parking and the rest is nothingness plus disney really wanted to put a 3rd park in that lot but because of dca they arnt going to do anything with it anyway.

Just like in the other thread. There was a 3rd gate being discussed many years ago, there isn't anymore. It's time to put this to rest.

I heard this rumor years ago....before DCA opened up, I had a close friend work at Disneyland from 1995-2001. He told me back then they're planning on expanding Disneyland to make it more like WDW....including a Downtown Disney and a waterpark that will be built on a strawberry field on Harbor Blvd., south of Katella Ave. I didn't believe him back then, but so far they have done what he said!
