to my knowledge Disney Co. bought some land just down the road from DLR. I think it was an old farm and know it is vacent. I heard Disney bought it and are planning to build a water park. anyone here about this.

Nope, but if thye make a water park, I bet it will be like the Tokyo DisneySea.

I've heard that rumor for 10 years. That rumor (true or not) started when the cast member parking lot was purchased off Katella.
Hopefully it's true that they plan to build a water park because those summer trips to the resort need it!

Old, blown over, dead & defeated rumor. Final conclusion was to focus on bringing Disneyland Park & DCA up to par.

not far. maybe a quarter to a half mile down harbour down south.

No! You know what they should do? They should theme it entirely to the Jungle. If it's in the right area, they could expand the Jungle Cruise so it goes around in the new park, and also the boats stop there and let people off. It could have real wild animals, like African Grey Parrots (that could fly... nets would be up high of course!) and yeah... there could be an amazon log ride, which features a 10 foot water fall. so OK! It could be a Jungle themed water park!

I saw a map of the third park's location on the internet once. And of course, I forgot to save the link. :mad:
Anyway, the park is supposed to be located south of Katella Ave. and east of Harbor Blvd. I think that's by the Anaheim Convention Center, right?

Not far at all then. :biggrin: Expansion of the DLR sounds great to me but I do think they should get Dl and DCA sorted first.

there is the supposed location of the third park. i dono about that though...looks pretty small. if it was a water park i guess i could understand but if its not connected to the resort physically...i just dont see it working very well....people walking down those busy streets in swim gear with towels and cameras crap everywhere....ahh i dono.....i dont think they would extent monorail service there either because it would be too expensive and would make a mess of the monorails with all the water and stuff.
if they can buy up the property inbetween that plot of land and the resort, then i say go all out and do something great with it....but until then, forget it. fix california adventure.

Maybe they could have rides based on Hindu Mythology. Hanuman's Daring Journey. Ganesh's Obstacle Course. Savitri's Scary Adventures. Garuda's Flight. Ganga River Run. That'd be cool.

I think that goes against all things Walt Disney. QUALITY is the keyword here...not QUANTITY.....
lets try to bring up the somewhat dissapointing parks to the level of disneyland...then we can talk about Disneyland Afganistan or Cambodia.
I think making people come to America for a taste of true American entertainment and magic would have been better....but i guess its too late for that.

Yes they r going to build a water park.they bought a strawberry field across the street from the park.they anounced it when i went last week.

I had heard something about this a while ago. They did make an announcement that a third park is in planning. No information on what type of park, or set location. All they said was that land had been successfully puchased, and no information on when construction would begin. And this was about a third park, not the cast member parking area. I actually watched it on the news. Disney had a small press conference about the information, but didn't comment to much on details such as exact location, type of park, theme, ect.

I dont remember where I read this but, the City of Anaheim has already announced that they plan to build a road right through the middle of that piece of land to connect the Anaheim Resort (the area around Disneyland) with the the rest of Anaheim (Downtown Anaheim and by the stadium at which the Angles play at). So, no new theme park... i think.

There were rumblings about a 3rd gate quite some time ago. All these so-called "rumors" you all have heard are simply distant echoes of a few years ago. The strawberry field, water park, all of it was knocked around like the Incredibles coaster & Cars-themed ride rumors are now. But, the decision was to improve both Disneyland and DCA before another thought about a 3rd gate was considered. There has been nothing about a 3rd gate since then.
I'm not in the business of accusing people, but please don't make up rumors simply to make yourself look cool. We know what's really going on, and believe me, we aren't going to hide anything from you. So please don't stir things up that don't need stirring up. Again I'm not pointing any fingers, but I know there are those people around cyberspace. So I'm simply urging if any of you are thinking about it, please don't.

The new Grand Parkway will run right through the middle of the strawberry fields. Of course, these proposals come and go like bad dreams. Who knows what will become of this one?

I was sorely unimpressed with the whole MGM business. Thank Goodness for the Hollywood Tower Hotel.
Speaking of Hotels, they SHOULD build a Tokyo DisneySea-ish park cos that'd be fun & could add animal awareness sorta things like Seaworld,
cos if anyones been down San Diego recently one trip on that Escape To Atlantis tripe would make anyone demand a better sea park.
The animals are cute though....
So yeh make a groovy new Disneysea Park. Oooh and add Expedition Everest. That'd be cool having a massive mountain across from 7/11.

Same here. The whole park just seemed really tacky to me, lacking in that Disney charm I've come to expect. It's not a place that I'd ever want to just hang out in. It's like they're trying to be Universal Studios without really understanding the point.
Plus they have only one good ride (the Rock 'n Roller Coaster, which is a completely inane idea for a Disney ride, but a really good roller coaster).

One early problem Disney was having was that the City of Anaheim was not gonig to approve Disney-owned monorails from traversing over city property.

k i just got back from disneyland.the driver of the tram i took to get to disneyland from the hotel said it has now been confirmed that the strawberry patch WILL become a water park.so there will be a water park.the lady had a brochure of the new park!

That came from the Spongebob Squarepants episode 'Club Spongebob' when Squidward was asking the magic conch if he can have something to eat. As for that area I suggest another Animal Kingdom so we can have live animals too. As well as our own Expidition Everest.
