Which scene or feature makes (made) The Submarine Voyage one of the most beloved rides at Disneyland? Explain if you want to...

I think the Giant Squid is a cool tribute to 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. To me, the sea serpent looks freaky.
The illusion of diving with the bubbles coming up and the light intensity going down (because you enter the inner part of the ride, of course, but you should not consider that while in the ride)

Honestly, this ride used to freak me out cause I was always afraid that something would pop up in front of the window and scare me, especially when it seemed like you went deeper by getting dark, then I really freaked out, but now I realize that overall I liked it despite the fact it scared me.
This proves it was (perhaps we must still say 'is') a very, very nice made illusion !!
It is the kind of illusion based on psychological perception, as absolutely no costly techniques were involved !!!
There was much more intelligence involved in making this diving illusion, then there is nowadays with huge budget consuming simulators... (replacing bright 'The-egg-of-Columbus' ideas with massive engineering...)
You see, "Imagineering" was about SUCH things, it is not wise to call "excessive engineering", "imagineering"... At least, we pay the price for all this excessive engineering... (At the gate, paying entrance fee)

I dunno about now, but all of the above questions in the poll all made it for me. I can't chose one or the other. The ride was so great cause you never knew when the boat turned with the track yet it does. The fact the giant squid was from the 20,000 leagues Under The Sea movie, the underwater animatronics, the narration and the goofy sea serpent made it fun. also being one of the only submarine rides not simulated in a fake chamber or room was absolutely brilliant. Yes I know it is still that way but about the other stuff, ehh, time will tell. I will ride it and make more judgement about it afterwards. I've said my piece about the Pixar theming before.
Executioner, like to have personal contact as well?? :)
(SORRY people, this was off topic !! ;) :) :) )
