Actually you're right, he's falls at you much faster now, and the sound is a little louder too.

I love that snake!!! EVERYONE I know is freaked out, but I always looked up at it and hiss back. It's kinda funny. I wonder if they have a camera in the mouth or something just to make fun of people's reactions. My sister, who is 25 years old (10 years older then me), looked down at her daughter and smiled when the snake popped out just to hide it. And my friend Mark was sitting to my left and I was at the edge in the last row (where the snake REALLY gets you) and he was looking down, and right before the snake popped out I screamed in his ear (not loud, loud enough) and he jumped and looked up at the snake and squealed like a girl. It was funny. xD I'm SO mean!

I know where the OLD Snake is. Lol. You can see his head in the backlots of Disneyland before you see the Indy building when you're on the monorail.

I hope they took the intermediary snake and went to batting practice with it or something. Definitely don't want to see that again. Its double screech was funny though.

VERY INTERSESTING STORY BELOW (plus info):

I went on Indy with my uncle once, and it was his first time. I love seeing people's reactions on the ride, so I expected him to be kind of freaked out by the snake, right? Wrong! As soon as the snaked lunged at us, my uncle bopped it on the head and made a mettalic "BONG" sound! I was in complete and utter SHOCK!

I asked him, "Why did you do that?" after the ride. He said, "It was trying to attack me!" HE WAS BEING SERIOUS! I shook my head and kept an eye on him the rest of the trip.

INFO: The only things ifferent about the snake (that I know of, there may be more things) are:
1. Lunges faster (and louder)
2. Teeth flip out
3. New paint job

when Indy first opened the snake lunged out, but it was broken for a few years untill recently when it has lunged out again.

The new snake didn't do anything it's always done when I rode yesterday. It's always been that color, it's always lunged that close, and the fangs have always popped out. This is true for the new snake that was fully and finally installed roughly a year ago if I remember correctly. The old snake was stuck there for pretty much the entire summer frozen in place from April-October 2004.

hmmmm, I had no idea that anything was different with the snake, it has always seemed the same everytime that I have gone on indy. I don't know, I can be pretty blind at times...so something acually changed with the snake?

*whats tomorrow?...english, science, and choir...right!*

There were changes between old snake and new snake, new snake did some new things, but the new snake hasn't changed any since it's install. There may have been very very minor adjustments made, but that's it.

maybe it's just me but it freaks me out to see elements of a ride outside of the ride. like that snake. even when they were draining the submarine ride and you could see all of the fish and stuff just sitting there. creepy!

in july when I was on a shuttle bus to the airport from DL we were on Dl dr. or whatever the road is that goes by the hotel. but while on it I saw through the fence and saw the 2 of the old 45 years of magic parade, it was the simba float and the belle float with the butterflies.

I have already posted this but I'll say it agian. The snake (and other things) were changed and repaired for IJA's 10th anniverseray (which is DL's 50th B-Day)! The snake's fangs poped out of the roof of its mouth, it lunged harded and faster, and it got more advanced Audio! That explains everything m-kay. Also the other things that got changed were the lava pool, audio, and something else.

I have been seeing that the Indiana Jones audio-animatronics are well-maintained. They move more realisticlly. Which it makes it very similar to the Jack Sparrow AAs a little bit.

Do u remember when the Mara statue above the lava would shoot a laser at the roof and rocks would fall? It was actually ice but i wish they still had it.

^ so do I but the snake room is now more 3d than 2d now the whole body of the snake is 3d when it was green the body used to be a picture on the wall

PeoplemoverMatt
08-11-2006, 08:03 PM
^ Actually the old snake did exactly what this snake does now, only w/o the fangs. It was broken and 'frozen', meaning it didn't lunge at you, for a while, but it was never just a picture on a wall.

I've already said this somewhere too but the reason why the ice doesn't fall is because that produced the ice was not stainless steel so it got rusted and broken. The reason why it dodn't get fixxed is because the only way how is to cut a hole in the roof.
