It seems like a long and tiresome planning, but I finally did it. I'm just antisipating the days going by until DH and I will be going to DLR. We will be going to the parks on 9/6 thru 9/8. I figured that would be the perfect time to go since the crowds will be almost non existant because people will be at work/school.
Please help me if I've fogotten anything. I've all ready booked my reservation at Carousel Inn and Suites. I've booked a reservation at the Blue Bayou. Is there anything else that I should remember or some tip around the parks before I leave?

Always use fastpass and have a blast! Get a Space Mountain fastpass first thing then get another one later on. But don't wait until late afternoon to get another one or they will be gone. You can ride it 2-3 times a day this way and avoid the 60-90 minute stand-by line. Have fun!
Plus! Splash Mountain is a stand-by nightmare. Worse than Space Mountain. Get on the ride in 5 minutes by using the Single Rider mode. Walk up the exit and tell the cast member "Single Rider". They will show you where to go. It's awesome. Since we didn't want to walk around the park wet for half the day, we did this at the end of each day once or twice. So in total my brother and I rode it 5 times in a total of 30 minutes wait. Awesome. Row 1 = Soaked, Row 2 = 50/50, Row 3 = Relatively Dry (since you have 5 people in front of you to block the water lol) Always use single rider for Splash and have a blast!

I have been enjoying Disneyland since 1955. Here are my favorite Do's & Dont's:
1) Find out what time the Park opens & arrive at the Main Gate 30 - 60 minutes BEFORE that time ... they will usually let you in early & you can browse Main Street or wait at the end of Main Street (with the crowd) for the official recorded message that Disneyland (i.e. the rides) are now open.
2) Go on all the big/popluar rides first thing in the morning ... the big crowds will show up in the late morning.
3) Take a lunch break or even go back to your hotel (if it's close) for a nap or a swim before you return to the Park late afternoon.
4) Even if you don't like fireworks, the special 50th anniversary night-time show is worth it cuz of the extra fireworks & Tinker Bell flight. Tinker Bell flies back & forth over the Castle ... you don't have to be in front of the castle to see her. Find a good viewing spot by 9pm (or before)... fireworks start at 9:30pm.
5) If you are not going to watch Fantasmic, stay AWAY from New Orleans Square during that show ... it's total grid-lock, guaranteed to frazzle your nerves!
6) Have FUN & tell us all about your trip!

^^Those are all REALLY good tips! In response to each of them...
1) I never knew they would let you in early! Then again, I can never wake up early enough to get to Disneyland before noon.
2) This is SO true! As the day progresses, you'll notice the park becoming more and more crowded. So yes, definitely get on the popular rides in the morning because it's a nightmare by night!
3) Yes, if you don't eat lunch, your energy will be sapped by evening.
4) I agree, the new fireworks are definitely worth seeing! Try to get a spot where you can actually see the castle because they do cool lighting effects on the castle as well!
5) Again, I totally agree! People who are in the areas that are supposed to be WALKING will just STOP right in front of you to watch the show. It's totally annoying! But on the flip side, you can usually get on Indiana Jones really quickly during this time!
Oh, and one more thing to keep in mind: Toontown closes at (I believe) 8:30pm, so be sure to plan accordingly. Also, Fantasyland (and the Monorail) will be shut down early for the fireworks and will re-open when the fireworks are over. There are usually large masses of people trying to get on the Fantasyland rides, particularly Peter Pan. So, just be aware of this too!
