This may sound COMPLETELY crazy but it's true.
About two hours ago I went to the park for a mere ten minutes to pick up a friend and felt the need to ride Space Mountain.(I live 15 mins away and am a passholder, so I go to the park at random moments for little amonts of times) Well, after getting off the ride, we went to go to the monorail station and I am NOT kidding when I say this...
I SAW WALT DISNEY!!!
It was like slow motion, and he was walking alone, looking around and I could only see the profile. I knew it was him because I just felt it. I know this sounds weird but I'm not lying.
Oddest experience EVER but I feel sudenl so special.

wow spooky. Well Walt Disney still walks in Disneyland park. I would have to believe that you turned the corner in to the monorail station and Walt was no where to be seen.. Hmmmmm....... Did you pinch yourself after you saw him. Well it is not April 1st so I believe you for the time being. That is cool that you live so close to Disneyland and can go whenever you want to :p
Liserbell
08-24-2005, 04:05 PM
Well of course he still walks the park. Wouldn't you?
I believe you completely. That's very special. You're lucky.

It must be his spirit visting the park and checking his park, if it has any problems. You must have felt his presence.
sorcerormickey
08-24-2005, 04:09 PM
Did anybody else see him that was with you. You have seen the creator of Disneyland's ghost. You are probably 1 out of a lot of people who have seen him. I bet that Micheal Eisner has seen his ghost alot. Well that is really cool :p
HiddenMickey
08-24-2005, 04:11 PM
Wow very special indeed! I've never considered Walt walking the park when I went. I'd love to see him; maybe one day. I believe his spirit is still there.
DaynaTheDisneyDork
08-24-2005, 04:15 PM
No, it scared me because everyone around him was so oblivious as well. It was like NO ONE was looking at him. And the people with me were like...'Umm....are you feeling okay?'
sorcerormickey
08-24-2005, 04:16 PM
You were the chosen one. He made himself only visible to you. You have a sixth sense just instead of "I see dead people" you see "Walt Disney". Just a theory :p

08-24-2005, 04:16 PM
i believe this because when i was in the fire station i felt like he was up there, nd he came in my dreams and knew my name and stuff. it was weird, but cool!

HiddenMickey

Neither to both, but I never considered it. Maybe next time I'll be more alert for it. Maybe the "magic" is his spirit.

I felt his presnce when I was both at Disneyland and The magic kingdom(WDW)
Disneyland- I can just tell he is in the park the magic comes from him and him alone sometimes I think he is in the haunted mansion checking on his ghosts ;). uh.. forget I said that, unless you think that too.
WDW- ok I went to Disneyworld for spring break 2005. and Went on CBJ. and when I was having a great time I SWEAR I Felt His hand on my sholder, and i was the only one in the row! I knew it was him i could just tell. I said nothing but it made me even happier to be "with" him (sorta) and to be at my favorite ride ever!!

Are you sure you didn't just see someone that looked like him? I believe you when you say that you felt his spirit, but not necessarily saw him. I just don't really believe that anyone lingers around here, including Walt- he may have made a magical park, but he doesn't have superpowers or anything.
I personally believe that you saw someone that looked like him, and then since you thought it was him you felt the feeling inside of you. I believe he was there with you, just like he's there with all of us, just not physically (or whatever it would be for ghost things).
But whatever floats your boat, I guess.

Remember...we have indestructible souls. We can never die, but go to the spirit realm and visit places that you love and go back to the realm. When you passed away from old age or accidents. You are still alive, actually dead. But still there.

I think they call this a paranormal experience Dayna! This is a field which fascinates me. I wouldn't doubt for a minute that Walt's spirit would continue to look after his vision of Disneyland. Maybe the recent shakeup in Disney leadership is partly his doing. There will be those who are skeptical. Don't worry about it. You know the truth. It's always fun to catch one of those rare moments where a skeptic encounters the supernatural or spiritual realm. Of course, they usually come up with a "logical" explanation to put themselves back at ease. Your feeling a need to ride Space Mountain may be chalked up to a "psychic" event. It could just be coincidence. However, there are those who believe in the sixth sense, which I believe to be an extension of the five senses that is at times more profound in certain people. Maybe Thurl will be hanging around the Haunted Mansion soon! This may sound COMPLETELY crazy but it's true.

Walt rode Space mountain with ME last week.....
Unfortunately walt died just b4 I was born,
but I'm sure SM would have been a royal kick for him to go on.
I believe his spirit does indeed walk the park.
(and he hates DCA!!!!)
and yes....I do believe in your sighting Dayna.

(I have had a few paranormal experiances myself about 12 years
ago working in some of the old studios in Hollywood. I do believe!!!) :old_wink:

Thanks everyone for the support. I have had some experiences with ghosts before. My grandfather and grandmother have plated some tricks on me and it's always nice to know they're around. And I loved seeing Walt. I knew it was him, Captain Hook, trust me. You shouldn't doubt things so much. I always used to say I wouldn't believe things til I see them, but now I'm a firm believer in ghosts and what now.

I certainly think this is possible. Especially for those of us who truly believe in the Disney magic.
There are a few of us VFers meeting up on Saturday. Maybe we will be lucky and see Walt wandering around.
If there is anyone else going to be there on Saturday the 27th let PeopleMoverMatt know. He is getting a list of people. We are talking about it on the Meetings thread in the off-topic section.
Hey Walt, if you a bunch of us hangin out on Saturday please say hi. (Do you think Walt reads the VF Corner Cafe?)

I totally believe you! My last trip to DLR I was waiting by myself for my fam to come off a ride and as i was sitting there I closed my eyes and said a little prayer to Thank Walt. (when I'm at the park I always try to communicate to him) Now, I didn't "see" him but I truly FELT his presence there. It was a calm weather day and right after I prayed a wind picked up when there wasn't even a breeze before. I felt like he was answering back to me and aknowledging me. So I can't even imagine what it was like to see him! That's soo awesome! Congrats!

Walt Disney didn't really die. He just pricked his finger on an enchanted rose bush that was growing in Fantasyland, and fell asleep for 500 years. He was cryogenically preserved by Ursula and Malificent, and placed in the highest tower of Sleeping Beauty Castle, ala Lenin, to await the day when his True Love would ascend the tower and awaken him with True Love's First Kiss. Then one day, many years later, the ODV cast members from Paradise Pier staged a revolt, and decided to take revenge on poor Walt. So, late one night, they hid out on Tom Sawyer's Island and waited till the park was quiet. They then climbed to the highest tower and stole Walt's body from its dusty tomb. They carried him across the esplanade, through the abandoned paths of California Adventure, and into the Muppet Vision 3-D building. They placed him in Waldorf's chair in the balcony, careful to securely bolt him to the seat and floor. All the next day, none of the eight people who came to watch the movie even noticed the switch. And he's still there to this day.

I Once Felt Walt's presence on a rainy night and no one was at Disneyland and Pirates was a walk on and our boat was empty so was 3-4 boats in front and back of us. We went before we went down the flume for the last time during our trip we both yelled "This One's for Walt" and for the the whole ride we smelled Cigarette smoke when no one was smoking... for some reason I actually felt very comfy and it was like walt was right there with us

Heh!! That explains it. Next time I go to DCA, I'll go look for him (only, my sister is afraid of the little blue guy on Muppet Vision 3D, so I never get to ride it).
It's so nice hearing these stories. I always knew Walt would keep an eye on the park he poured his heart and soul into. If only he were, eh, corporeal. I would love being able to have a chat with him...One can wish, can't he?
Anyway, the one time I felt something in Disneyland wnet like this: I was sitting on a bench near the "Partners" statue in the Hub, just admiring the scenerey and having some lunch. I remember it being a really gorgeous day, with a really blue sky and lots of wonderful clouds. Anyway, I was sitting there, and my attention was drawn to those little brown sparrows you see all over the park. They were hopping through the hedges and looking around for food, I guess. As I watched, I got this odd feeling. Like the sparrows were Walt's eyes, and perhaps he kept an eye on things through them. It was the strangest feeling, but a good one. It's really hard to describe, but I knew it then. Walt was nearby.

This is kind of off topic, but, I love sparrows! I had one as a pet once. They're so playful and clever. No one ever pays attention to them at all, though. It's funny you should say they were like Walt's eyes...
there's an old old spiritual hymn that says
HIS eye's even on the sparrow, so I know HE watches over me.

Heh! Not Gonzo. I meant the little 3D blue dude, the one that flies out of the screen at you. She actually likes Gonzo, but she hates that flying guy. She's thirteen, too. Isn't that sad?
BUT ON-TOPIC, that's interesting that you noticed that, Ezra! I had never heard that before...Hmm...You know, ever since then, I've noticed the little sparrows around Disneyland more often.
So, if you see a sparrow, think of Walt.

See! I always knew Walt was still in Disneyland! It is HIS park after all. Even if he's gone and nothing is left except ashes. Why shouldn't he still be in his park. Of course, I wasn't around when he was alive, but after I saw that Disney documentary, "Walt the Man Behind the Myth" I was nearly in tears when I saw all his old employees ready to burst out when they were talking about his death. I have never seen him in DL, but I have felt his presence, and dreamnt (like barfownz) of him coming back, and I was chosen to accompany him on an update tour of the park, good and bad news.
My girlfriend sometimes thinks I'm nuts loving a dead man so much.
I wish I could see him in DL.
OH OH OH and wait! Have you heard that story of Richard Sherman (the man who with his brother wrote many of the greatest Disney songs of all time) played Walt's song for him, Feed the Birds, at the dedication of the Partners statue in Disneyland for him, and a single bird came out of the sky and swooped down over him and disappeared? Shadow caught on tape. See Mary Poppins DVD

Wow! See? The birds! I was right! The birds in Disneyalnd are sign of Walt's presence. Come to think of it, you only really see the little sparrows areound the Hub, near the statue...

You know the model of his office that was in the Walt Disney Story? You probably know this but Feed the Birds was played at his office every Friday.

Wow! I guess he still leaves his Main Street apartment to make sure everything's right.
Come to think of it, you only really see the little sparrows areound the Hub, near the statue... I'm sure they live all over the park. You see them the most at the Hub becasue it has the most people walking around, so it's the best place to get food.

I believe that sometimes the dead appear to people in very, very, brief moments. So brief that you think that it's not true. I believe that you might have seen Walt Disney. Sometimes wierd things happen like that. If it was your imagination or it was real, either way, you saw Walt Disney! Wow... What a remarkable experience it must have been!

It sooooooo wicked!! I don?t doubt Walt likes to walk there...I?ts true (or at least I believe) that souls of death people remain in this world for so many reasons for example I think Walt is still there because he has things to do in this world or he wants to see his park and supervise it himself. iT?S weird but maybe he?s the one that makes Disneyland a magical place ?cause I don?t think he?s there because he?s mad or he wants to scare those who see him...no way!!
--------------------------------------Double post added here.
Do you think Walt´s ghost is the only one who still visists the park?? I don´t think so....and do you know if people placed Walt´s ashes somewhere at Disneyland??

That is a REALLY cool experience! I hope for an experience like that to happen to me someday.

I have heard two stories about Walt's ghost. One that he likes to hang around the shooting gallery in Frontierland. The second that he moves things around in his apartment above the Fire station.
